Mak takes the burlap bags. He'll start by balling up some burlap and gagging both heads. Then he'll cover each head in a sack, double wrapping them if possible. Finally he'll cut the heads free from the body of Kalak.
"I think I should return the head of Wyan along with Odrela and the Standard to Bodach immediately. You all want to stay here and investigate this area for a while? I just don't want to chance not completing the mission while we have a shot. The other head should stay here with those who stay. I should have magic to return after I rest for an hour."

Better to not even bring the other, and forestall the discussion."

Mak nods "Agreed. That's why I said the second head should stay here and not come to Bodach with me."

Waiting on Laahk, then Kri-kcht and Kem's intent. Laahks still beat them by a half step given his move. Then I will move onto the others. I need to still keep this in sync round wise.

This round Lakh drops Safe Path. Only.
Laakh glances over his shoulder to see who is behind him and how quietly he can announce:
"Got six lifeforms 100 yards forward my position. big stomp mark on the land, no Dote..."
He keeps his eyes forward as he crouches to investigate the stomp mark.
Life detection pointed 100 yards straight up, then sweeping right, then left (however many rounds it takes for a 180 degree scan away from the citadel) PSPS with Phase and Life Detection active: 44 PSPs.

(As posted right after the battle: ) Kri-kcht is tracking north together with Kementiri and Laahk.
The flattened circle looks like a defiler casted a spell.
Kri-kcht climbs the nearest tree to get a better view.

There is no ash, betraying a defiler's desiccation. Flattened grasses, vines and plants in the mud? Imagine a large deer hutch in tall grass in real life. Just more even and with a small indent in the earth itself.
The land, as mentioned before, is a rare sort in Athas and the Tablelands. A proper mudflat, with thick jungly elements, flying stinging bugs, and mid sized baobab trees. There's probably worse here, but you did get the land's blessing.
As Laahk focuses upward? He gets a slight read, ever so brief, towards the citadel itself in the air. Looking up? You see nothing... but there is a good amount of plant cover and perhaps you missed a kes'trekel or other flyer.
5 rounds left on Hurk's exhaustion.
Kri-kcht sees a wide-jawed, tall (but lean and pale skinned) humanoid with reddish hair sniffing the air looking side-to-side off in the muddy distance. It's hunched over and wears what looks to be a kirre's pelt as a breechcloth. He drags a large, sharp bone shard (sword-sized) in one hand.

Bob: What was approx height of my brief ping? I need to recalibrate my scan.
Laakh points upward and towards the citadel.
Just loud enough for Kri and Kem to hear:
"Fall back to Hurk!"
He will adjust his Life Detection to the distance of that ping, if under 100 yards, Goal is to keep track of the 6 pings in front and return to the citadel as a group.

Mak slings the bagged heads over his shoulder and takes to examining the grand orrery. He attempts to find control surfaces for it along with examining the position of the stars in it's current configuration to determine the date (if it's today or another point in time).
((NWP roll: 12 (Astrology Int+0, Int:12) success))

Image above of a deer hutch or nest. The life detection was at the edge of your (Laahk's) range. It does not reoccur when focused, so either height or distance changed. It could be something that flew past the white ruin. Mak thinks that it reads for the current day and solar positioning. There are lightly carved step notches carved into the rock, much like a spiral stair... but at slightly smaller than a halfling's stride. And a lot narrower. Hurk at 4 more rounds of wheezy wheezes.
