As you open the door against the wind, you find that while your vision is a tad shortened... but the buildings give you plenty of cover as you move to the second warehouse once again. Somewhere distant, a bell or chime clangs and some wooden gate or door slams as well. Where exactly? Who knows. Averting your eyes from the stinging dust you move out and across the courtyard. The inix skull grins as usual.
The kes'trekel are not to be seen outside.
Once you open the second warehouse door, you do see that some of the avian scavengers have taken cover here. Perhaps a dozen. They take to the air in preparation to defend their nest among the hanging dead and the bird shit.
Two human sized PCs may hold the door at a time or you may let the cats in first. Please give me a party order and an initiative roll (d10), intent, rolls, etc...
Or you could close the door or take a different action. Discuss amongst yourselves. If you keep the door open? My flying friends will attack on initiative of 5 (modified for natural attacks).

(OOC: Bob, have I heard that chime or bell before, as in, is it something Maraneth uses to signal for bad weather or other such things? Also, how high is the roof in the second warehouse?)

- Looking at Hawkings drinking from the waterskin, Valmera turns to all - We could try to give these birds a fatal 'indigestion'.. I have some herbal remedies - this said with some slight sarcasm - That could allow us to dispose some of them. I could let you coat your arrows and be fully effective, or we could set a container, bowl or similar with some of it dissolved in water.
Yes, it would be non-drinkable water and the effects would be lessened but they would go to drink it sooner or later, I suppose. It's up to you to decide what is best for action as you are more martial than me -

We'll go with 20 feet tall.
The noise is much like any random farm that gets hit with a windstorm... something always bangs, rustles or clangs.

Moktli closes the door. "Get your poison ready, we'll slice up some scraps from the howlers for ya. Toss them in, wait a bit, then I'm good to carve up the rest of 'em."
OOC: Back to the howler carcasses, yah?

- Yes, that's a good idea! We could pierce some of the pieces of meat and pour/rub the poison on it with a stone or bone, to coat it as much as possible so these can help themselves. Even more as the remains are relatively fresh from the combat - Valmera gets her nearly full backpack. Several sets of different stuff shows up, in a very disorganised manner which she fits in again after she gets the vials - These ones - She smiles and faces the group again

Hawkings takes a step back at the sight of the poison vials then takes an overwatch position while the others "season and marinate" the meats...

Quila smiles outwardly at Valmera's plan and the help she receives, "This is a good tactic indeed. It lessens the risk to the group. After we throw that meat in and close the door again, let's listen and then enter when we think it is a good idea to combat the rest."
Inwardly she silently berates herself for becoming too sympathetic to the apparently very charming elf lady who is less innocent than she looked like. She thinks to herself: I cannot let my guard down, not risk myself or the mission for the sake of sympathy, let alone burden one of my sisters with silence duty. She turns away from the preparations to compose herself and lets the mantra 'calm your mind' reverberate in her head.
Having refocussed herself, Quila turns to the group again. She takes the short bow out again, saying "I can give cover to anyone stepping in. Also for any bird that might accost the meat thrower."

(Ibubesi will spend a few moments letting the Kirres smell first the poison and then the poisoned meat. "Jumla, jumla! No eat!")
(Then he will instruct them to "Sit, guard." about 10-15 ft from the #2 warehouse door and to attack with Project Force, not claws.)
"Any other archers are welcome to stand here, behind Ral and Guthay - they will protect us from any birds taht escape the warehouse while we may shoot into it."
Edit: (Init: rolled 8 -2 Dex +6 Bow = 12; golding an action to shoot at Kesātrekels.)

Quila moves up to stand behind the kirre and trains an arrow on the door of warehouse 2.
(OOC: if it matters already, I rolled initiative 3, adjusted for comp short bow +6, totals to 9. Does dex bonus factor in or other modifiers that I know not about? There's no guard moment/hold action in 2E, is there?)

- Once the meat is recovered, Valmera would make some incisions in it and let the vials nearby, coating the meat with it as soon as everyone is ready - It is a shame that I have to use these here, as these weren't easy to find out - says in low voice
[OOC: The reaction modifier is subtracted from the total of weapon speed plus 1d10 roll, if I'm not wrong]

"Any other archers are welcome to stand here, behind Ral and Guthay - they will protect us from any birds taht escape the warehouse while we may shoot into it." The halfling nods his understanding then takes a position at the rear of the group and faces away from the action watching the parties rear, flanks and sky. [-1 parry AC 27 PsP's]

As long as Valmera marks off all her available poison and you sacrifice half the remaining meat? It will only take time. After perhaps an hour or two, there will be no noise or threat outside of the groans of the recently disturbed hanging dead.
You are free to investigate further as the weather dies down at this point. It is getting to be late afternoon. Decisions will need to be made on when you return to the New City, or if there will be an attempt to squat in the ruins this evening. You probably have time to fully search this building and perhaps take a peek at the third warehouse on this block (assuming there are no other fights).

When it is clear the birds are all goners and the second warehouse can be entered without a direct confrontation, Quila will enter it again. That is, if either Mohktli or Ibubesi and the cats enter first, or if I am sure all the undead are still safely tied up. In both cases I will try and be alert, still having an arrow trained on the bow. (OOC: NWP Alertness, rolled 19 on 18, fail).
Inside I will start taking a better look what this warehouse was used for. And I will pocket a piece of rope used as a noose on the ceiling so I can investigate that later on. Also, was it clear from when we entered here before what caused the roof cave-in?
