"Rest or..." the halfling anxiously looks out at the weird pole and gate.

(OOC: what time of the day is it by now Bob?)
Quila enters the third warehouse. She looks at the coils of rope and tries to see whether they were made at the machinery present in this warehouse by comparing the rope with the plant/hemp strands left in the machinery or on the floor.
"Rise in hand," she mumbles quietly to herself, "now what could that mean?"
(OOC: Bob, since as a chronicler I've got an eidetic memory, have I seen or heard that phrase used before in my month in Celik so far, and if so, by whom and where? Also, in what script is that written? Trade Balican or Common - which I guess in written form is not all that common but would be a dwarf script?)

"We should barricade the exterior doors into each of the warehouses before anything else. And make ensure the lock-bar on this buildings door works well."
(Bob, remind me, was there a gate to this courtyard?)
"Then, perhaps we should do a sweep through buildings closer to the dry river before resting for the night..."

The trade tongue. You have not heard this uttered within the New City. The writing is stilted a bit more than usual, with a left handed tilt.
The courtyard is open. Now that you know the building's contents, it seems like more of an open loading dock away from the street.
5:30 - 6 pm. Sun is getting decently low. Light clouds and some haze due to the earlier storm are causing some early purples and oranges to show in the horizon. It lends a serene, yet daunting touch to the grand ruins they frame.

(Ick, if it's getting dark, we should maybe either hunker down or head back...)

- The elven woman looks to Quila - After all we saw, I could guess a raising hand is that of an undead, like those we fought in our first encounter. Maybe a kind of mantra from those living inside the building to be left alone? -
- Valmera looks to everyone - These buildings will be here tomorrow too, so barricading in the first one seems sensible to me. Get what we can from others and make a safer area in that first building we explored, as we can't inspect every building in one day

- The elven woman looks to Quila - After all we saw, I could guess a raising hand is that of an undead, like those we fought in our first encounter. Maybe a kind of mantra from those living inside the building to be left alone? - "You know Valmera that may be the case. I do not know as I was not with you then and have not observed the creatures you encountered. Was there something specific to them that makes you link them to this?" She looks at Valmera then, and says excitedly "What if we were to stand before it and raise a hand as if to pledge something, would it maybe trigger something psionically or magically? Can someone detect for that?" To the group: "I am not sure whether staying here during the night really excites me much but this third warehouse seems to be the most defensible one, having only two doors of which one you can barricade more easily from the inside. Downside is if we would need to leave in a hurry the only way out is over there," she points to the street side exit, "where those poles with the balls on top are and the building that presumably made Hawkings wander off." Shuffling her feet she continues, "I will stay tonight if the whole group stays. That way we are strongest. Any other plans would really have to benefit the group as a whole. What do we want to get out of it in the short term?"

Quila looks from Calidane to Ibubesi. "Right. Okay." She smiles and then looks at Valmera and Hawkings "What about you both?" Looking at the dwur "Or master Mohktli?"

The rope was most likely made here. It does fit the holes in the slab with enough wiggle room to move.
If we have you staying overnight: We will need decisions on watches, if a fire is to be lit, where a fire may be safely lit, if you are cooking and eating sand howler meat (if not how to hold for a day plus) and markdowns on rations and water.
I know that Hawkings was interested in scaling the wall to the roof with Baxby. Once you guys have made a firm decision on the evening, I will post the details of that.

"Y'know, if we scared away all the kes'trekel, the roof might not be a bad place to sleep, if we can pull a rope or whatnot up behind us. Harder for anything that can't fly to get to us."

- Valmera looks to Quila - I'll remain with Calidane, and in reference to your previous question, I thought that these undead would drop to the ground when not roaming around..

"If we want to stay here, I can make one of us super watchful for 6 hours. You would still need to rest or sleep later but it could help in the dark of night making us very unlikely to be surprised."
Looking at Calidane, Quila says: "There is rope enough here, take your pick. Do you have a camouflaging tarp or blanket to make you less detectable by fliers?"
"And Valmera, what do you mean? I just meant would we trigger something from the writing, is it magical or not. I don't know if the grey undead you encountered before drop to the ground. I've not seen them move about."
