The second day in the old city... (Trio of nooses)

Somehow, you did not draw any attentions in the night. Even with a fire.

You can get three more rests worth of fire if you continue to cast log of everburning with this amount of wood before needing to gather more.

While there is some light contact with Kurn, there is much for a templar of the same caste to accomplish over the course of the day. The info is appreciated, but it may take time to find anything of import. Kurn was small during the time of Celik's bounty, and far, far to the north.

The day is windy, but not as windy as the evening prior. There are few clouds. The ones about are thin and high in the sky, perhaps wanting little to do with the land (and ruins) before you. The olive-grey sky welcomes the red monarch of the east as you begin to feel it's omnipresent wrath.

Tell me. What is the first of your priorities on this new day?

Quila looks around and stretches. She walks up to Hawkings and asks "do you care to find out more about the weird building and the poles today? Or even try and look over the 8 foot high wall from the shared courtyard of the Noose buildings?"

Hawkings looks outside wearily then turns back with a sly grin only a halfing can make "Sure thing toots! The Cerebrum doesn't make quitters! Though we need a plan..." he says while rolling up his gear.

Calidane lets out a yawn and then says, "Well, we should make sure that these warehouses remain secure. Then I presume we should make a radial outward search to slowly establish the surrounding territory. The eventual goal is presumably to have a safe spot in the ruins where we can always retreat for the evening. To do so we'll need materials so that we can reinforce doors, fix holes, and build defenses. That means checking other nearby buildings for leftover scrap that we can use, and for monsters that we need to defeat."

Quila laughs a wide smile upon hearing the halfling's response. "A plan. Indeed. Last time it seemed you were overtaken by a confusion or an emotion caused by either the building or the poles. One of the things we need to do is find out which of those caused it. We could approach the left pole from the courtyard and then move in between building 3 and the wall. Or we could go over the roof to the pole. That's actually a better idea since this would also allow us to take a peek over the wall. If the pole doesn't throw us off, it must have been the building. Maybe it's also wise to protect ourselves, either psionically or magically. What do you think?"

Looking at Calidane, Quila adds "Indeed. We should do that too today. We had better make sure we do not run into those lizards that turn you into stone. Or when we do we keep our distance and shoot them."

"I mean, I'm ALWAYS protecting myself with the Way. Whatever hit my mind was strong enough that it got past my training. Which is why I think it may be some kind of nasty spell going on around there. Maybe the poles are meant to keep intruders away from that part of the city? I COULD try and open a portal to the other side of the wall there and bypass those poles all together?"

Moktli listens to plans while he gathers stout scraps of wood to reinforce possible entry points and things to bar the doors.

"Not keen on crawling up on roofs, ya? This portal thing sounds interesting. Just holler if those stone-turn lizards show up and I'll take em with my eyes closed."

The halfing nods his agreement then turns to the Tari "Baxby, help me up on the roof, if you would please?"

Once on top he'll scout out the surrounding blocks and what's beyond the strange poles.

- We have to find a way to warm at night instead of burning wood.. Maybe buying some thick covers would help in the time been, as repairing all in the house would take a while - Valmera looks to everyone - Which is the plan for the day? Because I could stay here and try to organise the mess that the howlers did and save something

"I dunno who's in charge of this operation," Calidane says with a shrug. "It sounds to me like we could maybe plan two things. Seems a few folks are really keen on investigating the house with the strange poles and the aversion telepathy thing. I think that is probably a 'stay out unless you are powerful enough to ward against this' but I don't know, I didn't experience it. I personally want to also look into another empty building and keep searching for useful materials that we can use for fortifying our position here. If we were to check off both of those and still have time left over, we can always come up with another goal."

- It sounds good but opening many dens could release anything. Maybe whilst they look to the gates we could check other nearby building, but we don't have any base to bring everything back and restitute there. We're just opening surprise crates.. - Replies to Calidane

"If the gate with the poles is under some kind magical or psionic protection, then it likely has been undisturbed since the city’s destruction - despite the efforts of the House. It will should keep for a few more days."

"Hawkings if you think it was a spell instead of the Way, maybe we can investigate if the building is warded."
Looking at Valmera and Calidane, Quila asks "can anyone else except for me and Ibubesi easily detect for magic?"
Veering back to the halfing, she adds "I would advise against bypassing the gate and wall for now. Who knows what lies undisturbed for now. It might cause a full scale attack by Grey. Let's just gently investigate from this side first. Getting a view on the other side can be done without the use of magic or the Way, or even any force."

Quila looks at both Hawkings and the tari, saying "I would gladly go with you and Baxby up on the roof. It provides a good view of the whole neighbourhood as well as the poles, weird building, and beyond the gate. I might use our overview in expanding upon my sketched map of Celik."

"Ibubesi, Moktli, this quick look from the roof should only take shortly. We can then go and sell the meat and eggs off and see if there are any new rumors floating around or decide upon cleaning some houses near the bridge."

Quila walks toward the door all the while looking at Baxby and Hawkings "shall we then?"
