The free half-giant girds up - armor, weapons, etc.
He'll wait until just before combat starts to activate Flesh Armor (rolled 7 vs 17, success).

The Templars, seemingly seeing the writing on the wall, pull the gate open and begin rapidly rushing the party through it. "You are out of time. Whatever you are carrying is all you will have until--if--you make a return trip up the Thousand Steps." Prodded and ushered along if they show the slightest hesitation, the party almost immediately determine precisely why it's called the Thousand Steps--they're forced down what must be the longest, largest set of stairs they've ever seen. Their size and number makes walking down them tiring and difficult--by the time they reach the arena floor, they're already out of breath. It must be seven hundred feet square! The arena's enormous size makes it hard to pick out their opponents--wearing nothing but feathers and odd tribal tattoos covered by now by stains of rotted fruit and meat are the Gulgite soldiers, bruised and battered from their captivity, but their icy stares betray the fact that their wills remain unbroken. They brandish bone shortswords and long, feathered shields, though these are soon dropped as they notice their opponents arriving and exchanged for their shortbows. The crowds yell and stomp their feet, filling the entire building with a cacophony of coarse shouts as the harsh sound ricochets off the angular stone walls. The nude High Templar raises the King's scepter into the air. Now, it's up for the two dozen condemned to the pit to satiate Nibenay's lust for blood.

Don't forget we are all Blessed for 6 rounds from just being casted:
Morale and any saving throw rolls they make against fear effects +1. Furthermore, it raises their attack dice rolls by +1.
Yag times his entrance to be behind the half giant and dwarf, he takes flight as high as he was allowed in his last fights, banking to display his 20 foot wingspan. He immediately looks for the opponents with ranged weapons, or anything meant to ensnare: bolas, nets, tridents, kahulaks, ahulaks, etc. He will hover behind the front line and spend this first round studying the most threatening foe with those weapons, while slowly twirling his double-blade spear in one foot to draw attention. his other foot goes to a pouch and draws a stone.
His 1 round of studying yields nothing, as he lets the stone drop for Ballistic Attack. His mind is distracted, and the stone drops to the arena floor. With an angry "YAAAG!" he circles back to reposition, trying to keep the sun at his back and eyes on the battle, now drawing the sling and loading it, still twirling the spear.

- Nadiya steps into the arena, stepping back, nearby but from a side. She'll be observing the Gulgites from the distance and preparing a bone arrow in her short bow, ready to shoot if they dare to move forward
[OOC: Round 1 Initiative 9, Attack 14 (AC 2), damage 5. Don't forget either that we all have a +2 to morale this and next rounds, from my singing]

Bharnag takes some of the grip chalk and pats his face with the white powder until his entire face and bald pate is completely covered, then dipping his fingers into the ash around braziers he blacks his eyes and neck before continuing to the arena with the others. Upon entering the arena he cracks a wide grin, a sure sign of dwarven insanity, completing his look as a revenant... one of the vengeful dead.
"We need to close this distance fast!"
Bharnag will see if any of his allies open a portal or dimension door to the Gulgans. If so, he will enhance his own STR charge through it and attack the nearest Gulgan he can get his hands on.
Initiative Roll: 6 +5 (speed of impaler) = 11 Enhance Strength (3 points) roll: 17 Target Wis-3 (12) failure Impaler Attack (3 attacks every 2 rounds, so 1 attack this round) D20 roll: 14 Hit AC 3 (THAC0 19, -1 for bone weapon, +1 for specialized, +1 for bless, +1 for bardic inspiration) Impaler Damage Roll: 8 -1 for bone weapon, +2 for Specialization 9 damage
If not, ignore the above rolls, Bharnag will simply hustle forward as fast as he can (Mv 6) for the entire round directly towards the Gulgans.

Ylonis comes down to the floor and using her lightning-quick reflexes and acrobatics makes sure she is a hard target to pin down. (OOC: used Quickness nwp to get -2 bonus to initiative, rolled 8 vs 18, success. Initiative roll was 1, adjusted -1. Use tumbling to adjust my AC down by 4. My bard kit still allows me an attack later in the round then after all 1st attacks have gone.)
Right before combat is engaged she 'psionically activates' a Shield using the gestures Ylonis knows are often used with the psychokinetic discipline Deflect. (OOC: rolled both for psionic mimicry, an 11 vs 17, success and somatic concealment, a 20 vs 17, failed)
Ylonis makes sure to keep herself positioned with the more combat savvy fellow slaves she has had interactions with, preferring to be near the half-giants. If they move forward to go nearer the Gulgites I move with them trying to get in range to get off a shot or two. (OOC: I intend to shoot a short bow at the end of the round after all attacks have gone. ROF 2/1, rolling a 2 for a miss and a 10 +1 bless + 1 bardic = 12 for AC 5 for 1 hp dmg if that hits anything.)
AC 4 (AC 0 with Tumbling, AC -4 with Shield for regular attacks, device-propelled AC -5, hand-hurled AC -6), hp 6 (missing half due to templar beating), PSP 46

Ylonis is much faster than anyone else here, and her skill ensures she's well-protected, despite her bruises. A great deal happens before her attacks get off, however--the Thri-Kreen begins a full gallop, streaking into the center of the arena at incredible speed! It covers two hundred and seventy feet in seconds! The crowd roars as he (or she?) crashes into the line of Gulgan archers like a thunderbolt, swinging jagged claws at anything in reach. Most of its attacks miss, however, even with the Blessing, but one of the archers is stung by the fourth claw and the Kreen's bite, though it's clearly only a flesh wound! The Mul raises his Bone Bastard Sword (1h) over his head and shouts, following the Kreen's example! He's nowhere near as fast, but his reckless charge covers one hundred eighty feet, getting him halfway to the enemy! Next is the party's Aarakocra, who unfortunately seems to be having difficulties getting his abilities active for the moment. Nadiya can be seen readying her bow, but abstains from firing for now. The elves chuckle at the charging Mul, firing two arrows each from their shortbows at the injured Gulgan. Out of the four, only one strikes home, causing the enemy to gasp in pain. Kharam, the Psionicist, seemingly attempts to connect with the Way, but he fails miserably, wasting 19 PSPs and accomplishing nothing. Following the Mul, the Dwarf also rushes in, swinging his sword in circles over his head. He covers only one ninety feet due to his shorter legs. Bharnag, due to Kharam's failure, also advances ninety feet. The line of Gulgans begin firing--the twang of their bowstrings echoes throughout the stadium. Twelve arrows are loosed at the Kreen, who falls in a shower of putrid yellow gore. Twitching and choking on its own blood, the insect writhes helplessly in the desert sand as its perforated body begins to bleed out. Medical attention could still save him--but there's not likely to be any of that in here. The crowd roars and hurls insults down at the dying Kreen. Another dozen arrows are flung in the faces of the advancing elves--one leaps in front of the other, taking six of them before he crumples to the ground, beginning to bleed heavily. The crowd laugh mockingly, having apparently totally switched sides as Gulg's soldiery appear to be making utter fools out of this band of worthless slaves. Ylonis's shots come close, but from this distance, landing a hit is difficult.

Bharnag continues to race forward, his direction slightly offset from the Gulgan snipers and he runs directly to the fallen elf and places the back of his hand upon him. Speaking to his companion he says, "Keep pressing them, your kin will survive should we win the day."
Lend Health Roll: 14 Target 21 (Con-1) Success! Heals the fallen elf for 3 hp.
"Take a moment to gather yourself, then pick-off any Gulgans that evade the charge before they can pepper us with more arrows."

Round 1 - the Half-Giant Rimir moves forward under the cover of his body shield, taking the time to position his shield into a better position (Armor Optimization: rolled 8 vs 11 - Success). Round 2 - Initiative: 7+2; Rimir will charge one of the Gulgians with his wrist razors (rolled 15, hits AC -2; 15 dmg)

Round 2: 4 rounds of Bless remaining.
Yag sees the Gulgans deplete their arrows and with a fresh burst of speed (Initiative 2) he swoops around with a spear throw feint at 100 yards from their front position, flying with the spontaneous motions of a dust devil, trying to draw arrows while goading them to charge. The rest of this round is spent on successful Tactics on a lead Gulgan. With a better understanding of how this one combatant operates, He now has +1 to his AT roll against his target for this combat.
This is his 4th fight, and he continues crying out his name to turn the crowd's bloodlust back to his team's favor.
Thac0 against chosen target: 16 with all mods.

Round 1 summarised - Ylonis activation of Shield via psionic mimicry, moving 120 feet toward the Gulgites, shooting 2 arrows and missing both from this range.
Round 2 - initiative: 1-2 (another extremely fast -1 total); Ylonis will move another 120 feet, and shoots another 2 arrows (hitting AC 5 and AC 10 now without range modifiers anymore, assuming 1 hit and 1 miss, the hit is 4 dmg). Seeing as she goes last anyways due to her acrobatics, she tries to hit those Gulgites already wounded but still standing and pick those off.
AC 4 (AC 0 with Tumbling, AC -4 with Shield for regular attacks, device-propelled AC -5, hand-hurled AC -6), hp 6 (missing half due to templar beating), PSP 46, 9 rounds of Shield remain.

- Nadiya moves to shoot this time, as the vast of her side moves and charges ahead - 'An arrow could still maim one of them before they go to the hands' - She thinks before shooting this time
[OOC: Round 2 I have initiative 12, and hit a 3AC for 3 damage]

The Thri-Kreen still lies bleeding, slowly fading towards death. He (or she?) might still be saved, if someone is fast enough. The Mul barrels into the fray, attacking the Gulgan who was first injured by the ill-fated Kreen. Raising his sword above his head, the Mul brings it down hard on the already-injured enemy. He stumbles, bleeding heavily, but he's still standing--it'll take more than that to take down a trained soldier. The Aarakocra's loud screeching does wonders in drawing the crowd's attention, and the leading Gulgan would appear, by the way he holds himself, to be some sort of lowly officer. The others seem to rally behind him, even now as they prepare to fill the Mul with arrows. Nadiya's arrow finds its mark, burying itself in a Gulgan thigh. He yells, barely able to continue standing. The elves advance forward, the injured one thanking Bharnag for his life. "If I get out of here, I owe you a drink." Pressing forward toward the Gulgan line, they fire at already-wounded targets. Their first shot luckily buries itself in the throat of an enemy, and the first Gulgan falls! Only eleven of their number remain now. The next three of their arrows also find their mark, seriously injuring a second Gulgan! The elves whoop and holler, complimenting one another on their marksmanship. Kharam fails to activate his power again, wasting another 19 PSPs and his entire turn is spent doing nothing. The Dwarf follows the Mul toward the middle of combat, cracking off a couple of shots with his own shortbow at a wounded target. One hits, nearly downing a second Gulgan. Rimir, however, crashing into the fray, is able to brutally finish off the limping Gulgan! Now only ten remain alive to battle the party. Engaged in melee by three individuals, they rapidly wrap around the trio, attacking ruthlessly from behind. The Mul collapses in a shower of gore as the whirlwind of Gulgan guerrillas hack him to pieces--it looks like he might live, but not without medical attention. A few attacks come Rimir's way, but their skill with the blade is nowhere near their skill with the bow, and he finds their blows easy to slap aside. He is unharmed. Ylonis's arrow strikes true, landing square in the middle of a Gulgan's back! "Oba take you!" ((Round 2 ended. Input Round 3 actions. 2/12 Gulgans down--2/12 your team down. Thri-Kreen and Mul both bleeding out slowly near Gulgan troops.))

Bharnag moves forward (60'), stowing his impaler and drawing a javelin while once again attempting to enhance his own strength. He takes aim at the nearest Gulgan that's a fairly open shot, happy to attack any of those that have their back toward him at the moment.
Initiative Roll: 3 + javelin speed (4) = 7 Enhanced Str roll: 17 (Target 12) Failure Javelin Attack: 17 Hits AC 1 (THAC0 19, -0 for short range, -1 for bone weapon, +2 for bless and bardic inspiration) Damage Roll: 6 (-1 for bone weapon) 5 damage
