Enemy's Slumber, 5th of Dominary - Early Evening
Current Locations: Kreen Empire, Nirik-Tohr
The Strange and your mounts are kept together and the rain has abated. Tohr shaman of earth & stone have already repaired the damage of the sinkhole, an area of slightly different colored earth sits in an area just outside of their step well, closest to the domed buildings that you had seen smoke coming from the day prior. Less tohr are seen outside, although a group of mantis warriors with a light stone are leaving as you returned. Perhaps the hunt changes after a solid rain. It is all alien to you...
...including the actual alien and the ship it was found upon.

After getting back to Nirik-tohr, Quila intends to do: -cast Detect Disease and scan the dead Strange, our mounts, and any tohr that were with us to the Messenger that might have handled that Strange HurK pulls the wrapped strange bundle off 'fruit cart' and lays it off to the side indoors away from prying eyes. Light stone in between his teeth, He carefully unwraps it, making sure not to touch the actual body and blood. He'll use his sharp dasl chatcha to start his customary autopsy and research of new creatures. Specifically studying any new organs he finds and possibly what creates the fungus cancer. "Once I understand it's insides, I'll turn into one to get a better idea of what they're about. I'll need someone to mindlink with me as I don't see a mouth or tongue they can speak from..." he says

"I will be able to link with you," Quila says as she stands both mesmerized and horrified by the methodical manner in which the half-giant proceeds to gut this creature and lay its innards bare. She sees a physical manifestation of a procedure not so unlike the one Spymasters can visit, psionically or not, upon their subjects. Those are most often alive though and the method is not by sharp implement but by sharp tongue or mind. Quila finds the eeriness of it all fascinating and it provides both a growing appreciation of this new companion and a sudden inward reflection of her own trade.
(OOC: obviously Quila will have cast Detect Disease before all this and have warned if any disease was found on the Strange, our mounts, and any tohr. As the spell works quite long Quila will stand by and keep scanning while the creature is autopsied. Maybe that way we can easier find a location within it's body the fungal disease originates from.)

...She stands both mesmerized and horrified by the methodical manner in which the half-giant proceeds to gut this creature and lay its innards bare... "Oh this is nothing..." he chuckles "Should've see the weird shit Coden and I ran into: world invading Psionic worm men-beings called Ssurlons."He turns to Coden briefly "You know buddy, their king worm is still out East somewhere, planning and plotting no doubt..." he shrugs and turns back to his autopsy

Chat'cho, upon assuming her standard form again, immediately intends to proceed back to J'lact and seek his council on the very peculiar events that have been occurring so far.

"I can take the visceral nature of your actions, do not worry. I don't have a queasy stomach. I am merely ... intrigued, yes, by your methodical manner as it indicates a practiced hand and discipline. Those are qualities that, combined with the right outlook, are to be admired."
Quila pauses for a moment, in thought, and continues, "Another psionic life-form. Maybe this Strange is psionic in nature too."
(OOC: Bob, does Quila's Spymaster kit's bardic knowledge provide any information on this? Check is Cha, so 17 or lower)

Ande gags at the sight of the Strange autopsy and makes haste to keep up with Chat'cho.
She will keep quiet and stay observant, paying close attention to any Tohr-Kreen language she hears spoken. Ande does speak Thri-Kreen but IDK how close related they are.
Assuming she gets bored of trying to pick through the chitters and clicks. She'd let her mind wander so her body doesn't (hopefully).
If it is Clairvoyance alone that would allow Quila to scry the Elf Fire Cleric, Ande would try once distracted so she might still be useful.
Clairvoyance rolled a 10 needing under a 16; -7 PSP (55/112 remaining)
Will update momentarily with rolls and PSP total

"I don't think I have the mental fortitude to take on another psurlon at the moment," says Coden in response to HurK's comment. "So it's probably for the best that they are self-sabotaging and also rare."

Niachi pops his head into the alien autopsy room. Looks on with interest while chewing some dried biltong from his pack.
"Sssurlons, you say? From your digging, is there any relation between this thing and those which you fought?"

- Eslyk looks how HurK do the task, keeping an eye in interesting animal features that may understand better its physiognomy, without touching anything then.
The Halfling gets closer to turning when she heard about these pssurlons - "Oooh, strange creatures, never heard of them, are these animals?" - looking at HurK then look.
Her goals are to learn the spoken and written language of her ancestors, the ancient halfling that Erfurth and the crew speaks
[OOC: Failed roll to know what a pssurlon is with animal lore, 19 out of 13]

The half giant genuinely grunts and nods his thanks at the compliment while pulling open the chest cavity with a loud cracking/breaking sound. "Another psionic life-form. Maybe this Strange is psionic in nature too." "Aye Q, I'd be surprised if this race WASN'T... These wings don't look nearly large enough to carry it aloft without using The Way, or magiks of some kind.""I don't think I have the mental fortitude to take on another psurlon at the moment," says Coden in response to HurK's comment. "So it's probably for the best that they are self-sabotaging and also rare." "Hrmph, until we find another nest of them that is.""Sssurlons, you say? From your digging, is there any relation between this thing and those which you fought?" [Bob, any similarities Coden or HurK can see either external or internal between The Strange and Psurlon races? He'll use his Psionic Lore NWP SKILL as well. Maybe he read about a tid bit during his Cerebran classes? Psionic Lore 19, rolled a 9] The Halfling gets closer to turning when she heard about these pssurlons - "Oooh, strange creatures, never heard of them, are these animals?" - looking at HurK "Far from it Eslyk. The Psurlons are a race of intelligent malevolent worm beings from another world. They tried an Uber psionic experiment that went sideways that destroyed their planet and blasted the remaining survivors into the Astral plane. Now they search for a new planet to inhabit and ultimately rule over. I think The Order, Sorcerer Kings and queens might have a word to say about that though..." he chuckles "Still, we hear their super worm king is a massive creature the size of a tablelands sand worm with the psionic power to match its great bulk. We gleaned that he's somewhere East of the great silt sea..." he trails off in deep thought before continuing on the dissection at hand.

Detecting the alien disease is well, EXTREMELY M*&$*F&^!ING UNSETTLING. It is not only detected on any non-living material that touched the mounts, but seems to have unseen spores taking root all about this dome chamber, the pear tree, and out the entryway. Looking outside the entrance, it carries into the insectoid town proper and outside ranging into the direction of your tohr-kreen's travels.
It faintly pools upon the water, mud and grasses ranging as far as you can detect into the early evening distance.
Please tell me if you wish to continue your powers, detections and the like after learning this.
