Post by Quila Oris (John M.) on Nov 18, 2023 4:55:41 GMT -12
Seeing weapons, including magical ones that are now coated with the dust from the hallway, totally ineffective against the sand women, Quila realizes the full danger her previously still unconscious reprehension against the dust represents.
She calls upon the powers of Kurn and casts Bramblestaff in order to have an effective weapon against these guardians of the tomb. Counts as magical weapon to hit creatures only hit by magical weapons, +2 to attacks and weapon hits for double damage die. Duration 1 turn.
The round after casting she will try to hit the immobilized sand woman if possible, otherwise the nearest. Quila's initiative is 8: hits AC 8 and 7 each for 10 dmg respectively. (classic bad to hit and good dmg roll there)
If something happens that will make her act otherwise than attack after casting Bramblestaff, like someone going down or we call for a tactical retreat, the intent could change. This action is all assuming the party keeps engaging these sand women.

- Having its attention, Skrye moves towards in, to let the door open for others to step in and focuses in casting a protection spell on her to stand fighting these creatures for longer
[OOC: Casting Barkskin on herself, leaving her with AC 0 for 12 rounds & HP: 43/48]

Niachi enters the room. Hearing Chat's spell invoked, he recognizes it to hamper these sand things' in several possible ways. As Quila powers up her weapon and the gladiator blocks, his 2-handed grip on his club tightens as tiny spines grow in the hilt and draw blood. With a hissed jumble of syllables his weapon drinks up the blood and is now a Bone Club +1 or +4 vs. undead. A quick tactical look at things for next round's intent:
He checks around him to ensure he can swing his club, steps to the sand thing not fused to the floor and smashes it. He will follow up by spinning around to add momentum to a 2nd attack in the same round (3/2 attacks)
Next round initiative and attack:(previously rolled) modified Initiative 9 attack #1: Hit AC 4 if undead, hit AC 7 otherwise. damage: (rolled max) 10 if undead, 7 otherwise. attack #2: he misjudges and hits AC 9 if undead, 10 otherwise.
He has Shield spell and maybe the statue's +2 bonus to saves in effect.

'Muiko's next stated intention:
Polymorph Other on the one in the cage with Skrye.
Transmute that creature into a Mulworm.
"Who's a cute little Mulworm? Who's going to make us a bunch of silk?"

The slowed sand constructs cannot land a proper attack, especially with the half giant sticking his shield in the way.
And neither can Quila land a blow. It is hard to work around the bars and the bodies. Hopefully things open up a bit more soon as you're able to enter the fray more properly.
Skrye manages to get her protective spell in place as her natural skin hardens.
Coden further cements the furthest golem to the floor, it seems to not be able to or understand that it can merely leave part of itself to the ground... perhaps it cannot. This is the one that may be affected by Chat's magical disjunction.
Niachi hits the closest creature - as it is not undead, 7 damage is rendered, a plume of sand permanently detaches from the construct's frame.
'Muiko's spell has *no* effect. It is not a little mulworm. Still a heckin' sand woman monster.

For the first time in her life, Chat'cho sees an opportunity to use her natural weapons. Calling upon a shared memory common to all Thri-Kreen, she suddenly leaps forward at the victim she cast her spell at last turn, throwing herself at the creature and savaging it with her claws and teeth. Hit AC 4 - 3 Damage NAT 1 Hit AC 1 - 1 Damage Hit AC -4 - 2 Damage Hit AC -4 - 3 Damage
If any of these attacks deal damage to the creature, Chat'cho will announce this to the martial members of the group.
"This one can *e killed! Use your wea*ons on it, now!"

Quila will move further into the room the second she gets the chance. She will make sure the enemy that's tied to the ground by Coden will not be able to hit her and she will focus on the other sand woman. "Let's take the opportunity presented by Coden to focus our effort on the mobile one."
Initiative 4: Hit AC 1 - 4 dmg Hit AC 2 - 8 dmg
Still active: Safe Path, -2 AC, +4 to saves

Coden transfers his power to the sand beast's elbow joint. This further causes the sand-woman-thing difficulties in fending against and attacking the kreen druidess before it.
Chat'cho does strike true, cutting gashes of sand from the thing's torso. [9 damage.] But... she slips a bit after trying to strike too hard. Luckily due to her not wielding a weapon in that hand she has nothing to drop. [Avoided a fumble due to not having anything to drop.]
She shouts out that this thing is now fair game.
Quila strikes out with her newly enchanted bludgeon on the mobile one, two solid hits about the waist. [12 damage.]
Attilius successfully blocks an attack on Skrye as she begins to grow to almost twice her normal size. Her glassteel dagger attack cuts deeply due to her newfound mass. [11 damage.]
The second attack by the staggered construct aimed at Chat'cho misses, just barely once again. Her luck holds once more.
Niachi does land a club hit on the one engaged with the tari. [4 damage.]
The one that needs magical weapons to hit, in melee with Skrye, looks perhaps moderately damaged? It is hard to tell how much more sand needs to be disturbed for them to fall dead or inactive.
The one that can be affected by normal weapons now hardly looks damaged. Just more staggered.

Coden easily maintains concentration on his psionic power, keeping one of the sand constructs fused to the floor and hampered. He takes the opportunity to bring his spear up and past Chat'cho to stab at the hampered one.
Initiative 8: Hit AC -4: 4 damage
