"Don't we all need to study something, indeed. No rest for the weary." Quila rolls her shoulders and puts back a loose tangle of her hair behind her ears.

"Akos' murderer left the argosy caravan sometime between my viewings. I say first hit the murderer and question them if possible, and then go for the psurlon."

She leans in a bit closer to her companions, "But first, I need to convey my concerns to Presider Ulali. Let us first go there, and if Kirran is there too, I can later Mindlink to share my concern privately. But they did call us here, so let us find out if there is anything else they might want of us right now."

Quila will go the Speaker, hopefully with the rest in tow, otherwise alone, and see who she will meet. Ulali by herself, or with the Azeth.

[Niachi]

Niachi will join Quila if his studies are complete.
If this is not possible his immediate goal is to seek out any elves he has dealt with in town and pepper his small talk with questions only elves would know: famous tribal leader names, etc.

[DM Bob]

The hall of the Tribunal is where your Presider is found, surrounded by a dozen armed guards. She has a distraught look about her face as she is currently discussing the retrieval of dead from the western battle ruins. The logistics that she mentions includes numbers of Black Lances, number of wormholes to open and size (the biggest concern being Oronis generally could do so solo; without the help of the remaining psions) and the sledges and wagons needed to haul their dead. This also goes into the plans for an eventual ceremony and pyre as well as melding the ceremonies that the bird-people use to mourn their losses. You are not dissuaded to leave as this occurs and before long the remaining captains and templars disperse, leaving you for some time to state your concerns.

Small common items can have been fetched and gotten in this span. No need to roleplay it out as some of you study while others cannot. Conversation with the Presider is of course encouraged. -Bob

After the Tribunal greetings are finished, much like a Mekillot in a pottery shop, the muscled elf bluntly asks "Can't you's just raise Akos from the dead? You guys are powerful Templars, no?"

[DM Bob]

Ulali simply looks saddened and then turns away as she states meekly, "The throat was not whole." (ie part is missing) "Were we to bring him back, he'd simply die of asphyxiation immediately. Whoever it was that decided to murder Akos knew their craft and our weaknesses implicitly."

[Attilius]

Attilius quietly exclaims to himself "shit!" as he scratches his head in thought.

"It is obvious that whoever it was, they were a professional.  I wonder if they've been in place for any length of time?  These parts of Kurn aren't well known outside of verified persons yes?" Muiko paces a short oval.  "Is there anyone missing that shouldn't be?  It may give us a better lead on who it is that we're looking for?"  He looks at Skrye "You speculated that the killer was an elf based on relative height from Akos perspective, yes?  If it is true, we should hurry before they make it far"

In his customary way, the gladiator grunts his agreement but with a higher pitched elven sound that almost sounds comical by comparison.

The Presider looks to you and states, "The templars that conducted the investigation have spoken with Akos' spirit. The only thing that we were able to learn was that he had just finished mentally speaking with you," She gestures to Quila. "And that he did not get a great look at the killer, that it's face seemed blurred as his (Akos') life's blood spilt."

Quila listens to all contributions before launching into some revelations of her own, first letting the Presider answer questions others have.

"Presider, I might have some new information I can share. I have scouted psionically for the wearer of the medallion that the murderer of Akos wore. It resembled one HurK had in his possession, which he got after defeating a creature named a psurlon a longer time ago in the groups time far south. I had a vision of the wearer who was meeting with one such psurlon creature," Quila goes on to describe the creature and the setting in which the meeting took place before continuing, "I have since found out this argosy was one of House Azeth. It is now moving, south of Old Kurn into the Trembling Plains towards Draj presumably. The killer of Akos has since left that caravan and is on the move as well. The psurlon has since shapeshifted into a human shape and seems to be playing the role of caravan master."

Quila describres the dashing features of the psurlon-disguised-as-human. "Do you have any idea which member of the Azeth house this psurlon is impersonating? I fear for your safety but am also confused whether Kinnan knows about this or is also influenced by these psurlon."

Sighing, Quila ends with a suggestion and question: "Presider, my own conviction is to bring the murderer to justice first, and then go after the psurlon. But, what would you have us do? You called us here because of Akos' murder obviously, but maybe you had an assignment in mind as well."

[DM Bob]

She shoos away her retainer before answering quietly.

"I feel that might mean Kinnan is compromised... or possibly been replaced by one of these psurlon? You described Kohan, Kinnan's right hand in business affairs."

The Presider is shaking lightly.

"And this murderer covered an incredible amount of distance within a very short span of time. From the bottom of the tower to the lands outside the Old City's gates. Be careful you aren't attempting to hunt a traveling* quarry."

Ulali looks to the small halfling rogue, she then speaks to the group.

"Could you perhaps lend me your scout's services? I feel that an outside party could get a close eye on Kinnan's activities while you hunt."

She then attempts to link minds with Quila, cementing her mental voice as she adds, <"I feel so vulnerable right now and understand your position and grace with our mutual Lord. Please hurry as I have been unable to muster Oronis sooner - I fear he is healing on his own time. I will contact you immediately if he presents himself.">

Verbally she adds, "Go with Ral's grace and speed my comrades."

*slang for psionic, dimensional or magical transport

"It could certainly be Kinnan is compromised. We need to find out. Or can the templar here do that? A True Seeing or any way to see a shapechange or polymorph ought to do the trick."

Upon seeing Ulali shake, Quila places her hand on the Presider's shoulder and looks warmly and confidingly to the woman.

"We will be careful. There are ways to stop travellers from going places."

Upon the mindlink, Quila answers mentally to the Presider: <"Be strong in these trying times Presider. It may be hard but many are looking at you for guidance and wisdom, especially now. Know that I will instantly feel if any danger or threat comes near. I will come to your aid.">

After the wishing well, Quila leaves and once outside looks around at her friends, "Are you ready to go? We go for the murderer first before they can do any more damage or the Footsteps of the Quarry dissipates."
