Current timeline.
Kalak has recently passed during a dark ritual in Tyr (perhaps a month or so). Rumors of foreigners taking over the city state have only recently been verified. Refugees from Tyr have reached Balic, having been turned away from South Ledopolus.
The events of the Prism Pentad? Have not happened. In fact, some Champions of the Arena were killed for sedition and treason some two weeks prior to Kalak's botched ritual. Famed fighters, Rikus & Neeva along with some less famous conspirators were found, executed and displayed before Tyr's golden gates. No one really remarks on that, the Sorcerer King's passing far overshadowing those events.
We do not follow the modules leading up to and including the Prism Pentad.
Borys lives. The only dead Sorcerer Monarch is Kalak... and who knows, he could return.

Hey, uhh...I'm not sure this is the right place to post this or not, but I'm supposed to be a new player for the Celik game. I'm about three-quarters of the way through completing my character, but I've been getting radio silence on all channels for the last couple of days now, so I thought I'd try here. I've been perusing the House Rules, and making my character accordingly, but I have several very strange questions that I can't find the answers to. I also don't know how I'm going to get myself into the game, if and when I do finish my character. I'm on the Wiki, Obsidian Portal--my name is Arkinneas there. I've sent messages to the DM on Facebook, where my name is Valentýn Poláček, but they must have gotten lost in the crowd. I'm on Discord as Remn#2096, but the invites posted on this board have expired, and I can't use them. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated--the last thing I want is to build a character that won't fly at this table because I was in the dark. Apologies in advance for thread necromancy, but...uhh...I wouldn't want to clutter up a different thread with my arrival. Thanks in advance! |

The last night was a little crazy, my oldest was vomiting and in need of a bit more direct help from Anne and I. I meant to get on earlier, but both kiddos were running fevers for the most part of today.
Valentin seems to be very high energy and Axunelu is a fun concept. Some slight rules tweaks were made - mainly that dray could become preservers if taught (as they have unlimited as defilers). I also allowed a Dragon magazine proficiency that I was on the fence about including...
...but I also rarely see charisma build PCs, so the fuck with it.
He's also a wild mage. So, the general reason for wild magic in my games is generally the death of a Sorcerer Monarch. The instances that he draws from are from when Kalidnay was ripped from Athas, Dregoth's first death or the destruction of Yaramuke (or in later games than Celik - the death of Kalak or the Dragon, etc...).
Wild mages in my game can be either preservers or defilers. There is some argument for them to be completely defilers, but I can see it either way.
