TNG is when they're older. My kiddos are more used to the continuing story arc shows. Giving them TNG will make me explain how TV used be too much.

Back to a normal schedule tomorrow.

I will be on later. We brought the kids to my MILs and managed to clean the entire condo and get some laundry knocked out. I need to pick 'em up soon and drive back... probably post 8 PM central or a tad later.

Apparently the holidays have left my posting a tad more sporadic than I expected. Our normal schedule at home starts once again on Monday. I have no real crazy plans except to keep my kids sane...
...which has been harder than it was during the summer and fall that's fo sho. We're supposed to get some crazy weather the next few days too. I promise to increase the game speed as much as I can as soon as things settle a bit.
Remie is back from vacation too. So I'll make sure to get both games rolling - if Kevin can guilt Garret back to our game, I'd appreciate it. He's missed, that's for sure.
Happy New Year's and let's hope there's a reason to celebrate this next year.
Fuck Covid.

My other hobby/passion/insanity took over yesterday (and a good chunk of today after a quick shopping run). I've been cooking a ton. I braised two red cabbages, a pork butt, roasted a half dozen beets, cooked a meatloaf (today), ribs (yesterday), and now have a white bean soup simmering from the butt braising liquid. I will post in a bit after I catch up reading.

On the topic of cooking, any recommendations on nonstick cookware that don't involve 3M or cast iron? My wife wants to get new pans, I like the irons and she only tolerates them. Is solid copper worth it?

I love copper. I have a full set that were gifted to us on our wedding... Calphalon?. You want something that's more modernly lined (the insides of mine are stainless). Getting a French pot or sauté that needs to be re-tinned after a half lifetime sucks and is stupidly expensive. And that's assuming you find someone stateside to do it.
You can sometimes find people who specifically troll garage sales, flea markets, estate sales, etc... for old copper who then sell them to restaurants for either decoration or use. I bet there's a FB group dedicated to that somewhere. If you can find one of those and befriend them, you have a great shot at getting a set at cost.
Nonsticks are fun. I don't mind replacing those every few years. I suggest a restaurant supply store like a Restaurant Depot or Schwepes or mail order and keep it cheap.

I will post in both threads tomorrow. Today got thrown off, a few random important phone calls, the kids not having school when we though they did, minor drama...
Sorry, it's been a weird transition this week.

I was not expecting a true coup attempt today on top of the pandemic. If I calm down later, I'll post.

I will be on tomorrow. I've had to deal with a few property management issues (including my resignation from our condo board) today. The kids did not sleep last night and I'm on my last legs.
I will post an update to the North Tablelands game. My brain is still wrapping about how I wish to deal with it. Might be a really long post - could take two days if it develops the way I think it will after another sleep.

My yesterday sucked too, threw out my back, "pronounced scoliosis of a left convex nature brought on by misaligned left pelvis" or some shit. I can't see any one about it until Monday at the earliest and so far it's back and forth between the constant 3-4 ache to the 7-9 spasms if I move my left hip or right shoulder too far or quickly.
I'm sorry your day sucked, I offer solace in the fact you were not alone in having a shitty day.

Ouch. I have chronic back and nerve related problems due to getting shocked on a 220V faulty outlet about 8 years ago. I can fully sympathize. Hydrate, take anti-inflammatories and hang in there, bud.

I've had some issues with our property management company and due to that I resigned from the condo board this week. There's some problems with his (the mgmt co pres/owner) slandering my name on the notice of my exit. I apologize that it has kept me from focusing the last couple days as I've been talking to friends about how they would proceed. There was an odd e-mail chain and I literally have been in extended talks with a couple IT pros on how something may've been shadily done.
Some days I feel like a bull, when someone waves that red cloth at me and all I can do is fixate on it until I've made a proper decision.

I will post later tonight. Yesterday I had an old friend who was immunized visit...
...and he brought over a Nintendo 8-bit emulator and left it for us to play for a bit. I've been playing video games with my boys and they were up super late last night. We needed it though. We're supposed to get some crazy snow here in the Chicago-land area this weekend. It started about a half hour ago proper; there's a good chance we're especially quarantined the next couple days.
Gonna cook dinner then look at the posts.

Yesterday, I found out my oldest had/has Covid. Positive result as of yesterday from the test he got last week. Figures that he's not showing symptoms anymore, we thought it was strep, that came back negative though.
Here's hoping this goes as easily as I hope it could.
