"Understood. let's see their offerings then."
Altaruk agenda:
Nose around for info on Tslaxa/Nibenese pursuers. Find Andras, ID the weapons, bring him up to speed on the Worm-people. Look for anti-Psurlon stuff. eat, rest, overnight R&R. Make friends, stay chill. Anything else?

The gythka is a fine weapon indeed. Lighter than the ones Rizla has sparred with in the past, better balanced. He needs to be careful spinning it about deck though.
The bat is a standard giant bat... quite common near the peaks about silt.
Yes, the additional spiderwebs are fine - but Laahk will look ridiculous if he doesn't roll a proper disguise check.

You dock gently. Abez is greeted not by a dockmaster but a troop of six men in steely grey inix leather cuirasses, Balician togas, sandals and a slew of crodlu bone weapons, javelins and spears. Their hair is long and fair. Their skin deeply tanned.
"First mate! How is the Captain today?" Belts out one robust warrior.
"You're looking at him. Caym flies the Grey, Holden."
"Well ain't that a load of kank shit." Holden replies. "Hope you don't fall to the Gambit's curse as well... always liked our type better than those jittery-bird men though."
Abez shrugs. "We be doing okay, found me a new crew of misfits and a few coins to my keep. How much to have my tuns refilled, still a Balician silver? I ain't sportin' any of that Tyrian ceramic..."
The man nods. Abez hands the man two coins. He thinks for a second and then fishes out another coin. "How much for a night at the barracks for my friends and I? You got room? I could use a safe night's rest after this last week."
"That'll do, Cap'n. As long as you share a broy with me and the boys after shift."
"Deal."
Once the guards leave, Abez adds... "Let's get her (the ship) ready now... cleaned up and re-rationed. Laahk. You go ahead and look into what you can learn. We'll meet you by the wineshop, I think it's next door to your ink seller friend's kip."
CUE INFORMATION GATHERING ROLL & CERAMICS SPENT.
The additional provisions cost another few silver. Seems like Abez wants to be solid for at least a weeks travel with the current crew.
We can handle the interaction with Andras separate and after info gathering is rolled.

HurK helps do whatever Yiska and Abez need help with around the ship before venturing into the fort town.

Seeing the guards on the dock speaking to Abez, Mak will walk out of sight to the other side of the ship and encant a quick bit of magic to learn the ways of this strange place.
[Mak casts 'Know Customs']
Mak goes over to the Pterrax on the deck and rubs the beast's head. He spends a moment to grab his spear off his faithful mount. The Pterrax chirps and Mak chirps right back and points out towards the silt. With a single beat of his wings the Pterrax takes to the air and flies over the silt heading south.
[Mak tells him to go hunt and circle back once a day to spend the night on the safety of the ship's deck.]
Using the spear as a walking stick, Mak steps off the vessel and onto the docks of Altaruk. Since he doesn't have any important agenda, he'll wander the town. He'll be interested in anything green or growing and would be especially interested in any active agriculture happening in or around the village. He's also more than happy to follow his nose in the event he picks up any unique or delicious smells.

darksunsouthtablelands.obsidianportal.com/maps/124109 - The only difference in this canon map is that the main keep is larger. There are also outside buildings, fields, drill areas and ruined bits... as well as a small arena. Camps outside the walls - of refugees, probably from Tyr are present as well. The spell is a success. Mak understands all the local laws as Holden's crew understands them. Most of the standard ones apply - it's very similar to Balic. A caveat different than most settlements he's visited? Spellcasters are to be taken to the town leader if discovered and not immediately dealt with unless defoliage is detected. Agriculture is limited. There is evidence of long ago farming - but the settlement currently seems to have let the area grow wild, mainly for grasses that the crodlu and erdlu graze on. Cacti and brambleweed are about as well. Trees are not this far towards the shore. Perhaps you might find some of those up the hills and closer to the peaks. Irrigation was probably once more prevalent... but looking at the ruined walls, it was probably crushed during the giant's raids.

Unless instructed otherwise by his new owner, Rizla will act as Khuv's bodyguard. If Khuv is unavailable (invisible? snuck off?), he will accept direction from Laakh and is wary of HurK (regardless of if Khuv is around; to be clear, he isn't scared, just guarded)
