Rizla takes his attention off of the gith (not really, but he's attempting to telegraph this), looking to the crowd he shouts "I'm trying to "get on with it" but the competition are cowards despite the fact that they outnumber me 6 to 1! Perhaps if I knelt, they'd find their courage?" Rizla drops to his knees with his back to the gith and waits for one of them to close from behind. While there he'll attempt Flesh Armor again (14 needed, 20 rolled) which only succeeds in making him even hairier. When they are close enough, he'll perform a backwards somersault, intending to 180 as he lands it. Tumbling check (15 needed, 14 rolled). He'll then prepare for whatever the gith have in store for him. (OOC: Apparently, Tumbling gives a +2 bonus to unarmed combat attacks....) Attachments:

Well, you're lucky. For there's one thing gith are known for; their ability to leap and pounce. Four of them attempted just that as you tumble away, even hairier. There is much laughter in the stands. And hisses from the gith. Only two of the leapers were going to be close enough to attack... the other two again seem to be positioning themselves. And the last ones are somewhere behind and to your right. darksunsouthtablelands.obsidianportal.com/maps/124335#'s 5 & 6 are close enough for melee at this point. *** "My business? It's complex. I do some work with House Shom, deary, and it has to do with opening up trade routes once abandoned." The woman replies to Laahk.

The Gov'ner and Tellamon both nod to Hurk.
"You'd be in our debt. But holding onto anything for long here is often the real fight." States Arisphistaneles. "Balic is our real benefactor, as well as the merchant houses that ply the sand and silt."

"Complex is the only business I know, mmm. I've had some dealings with them. Livestock, and good product at that. When this slimy monster business is done, we might be sniffing around for trade with eh, touchy clients. Items best bartered a bit further afield, if you catch me. Go Mad Monkey, tear those ugly rookas up!" Ah the things we've seen out in that silt... Do these routes you seek to reopen involve any ports? Might be a talk for more discrete settings, yah? Wineshop here pours some decent drops. Name's Laakh."

Michael, a fresh round of initiative and intent - two current attackers within melee range. After I get that, I reply to Hurk and Laahk.

Michael, a fresh round of initiative and intent - two current attackers within melee range. After I get that, I reply to Hurk and Laahk. (OOC: I was planning on posting yesterday, but fell asleep before I could, sorry) Initiative 3 Tumble Proficiency check (15 needed, 11 rolled) Rizla lets out his best roar (the first one) before tumble-charging #6 Attack #1 rolled 10, modified 19: Rizla grabs #6 by his right wrist and bicep and continues his path between #5 and #6 where he begins his spin, jerking #6 around as an improvised club on #5 before; (#15 Arm Lock from the chart) Attack #2 rolled 3, modified 12: Rizla connects #6's legs with #5's face/upper torso before; (#7 Throw from the chart) (OOC: I picture this as being less of an attack on #5 and more of hurting #6 while clearing #5) Attack #3 rolled 12, modified 21: Rizla slams #6 down on the arena floor on his back before; (#7 Throw from the chart) Attack #4 rolled 7, modified 16: Rizla delivers a right-hand palm strike to #6's right cheekbone (while maintaining the lefthand grip on #6's right wrist) before; (#3 Gouge from the chart) Attack #5 12 rolled, modified 21: Rizla delivers a knife-hand chop to #6's right shoulder (#3 Gouge from the chart) Attack #6 3 rolled, modified 12: Rizla finishes the round with a knife-hand chop to #6's carotid/larynx (#3 Gouge from the chart) If all of the attacks succeed, Rizla has done 54 Damage and there is a 56% chance that the gith is unconscious (if still alive) Rizla drops the (dead?) giths arm and lets out another roar while facing #5 and surveying for locations of other 4.

A series of intense blows and holds causes the first gith to faint in pain as his arm is wrenched from its socket after a solid scream.
The second is tossed, simply into the stone pillar. It's head bleeds as it slumps to the ground... most likely dead.
The other four rush to the attack, but will have to wait for the following round's attack.
Four combatants remaining. Two down... one dead for sure.

"Laahk? Well the name's Vinara. Nice to meet you. Ooo!" She exclaims at your friend's savage attack upon the gith.
"That's the type of pit fighter I remember!"

Hurk asks about the sword.
"Belial's blade is her own business. If you can rebuild the wall and provide a working well... well, I'll see what we can do to sublet the cost if you have some coin or trade in her interest."

We'll make it happen Governor..." he nods The giant excuses himself in between bouts and goes to sit beside the group and Mak. He'll lean over and speak to the little man: "The city will help with the cost of Belials steel blade if we can make them a well. If you don't use the magic dagger, the longsword would be a two hander in your hands but HEY, steel is steel..." He shrugs "some go their whole life never seeing even a shiny dagger let alone a whole longsword. Let's begin on the morrow. I'll clear the rocks and drag them to where I've been hauling the others. Then I'll come back and you tell me where to dig for the well and how you want it shaped. In my... [he looks around to make sure he's not being listened to] 'larger' form, I'll dig deeper than anyone here could dream of and we'll make a good crop land of that area for 'em too. Maybe even appease the spirit of the land some, eh?" He raises and lowers his eyebrows up and down quickly while he nudges the little halfing with an elbow that almost sends him flying sideways.

Mak just grimaces watching the spectacle. His instincts push him to leap into the arena to aid the critically injured gith but he recalls the local customs prohibit him from entering the arena during a live combat. He just shakes his head watching the limp body of the gith bleed out and mutters to himself, "What a waste."The giant excuses himself in between bouts and goes to sit beside the group and Mak. He'll lean over and speak to the little man: "The city will help with the cost of Belials steel blade if we can make them a well. He shrugs "some go their whole life never seeing even a shiny dagger let alone a whole longsword. Mak gives Hurk a strange look as the giant rattles off about some metal blade. "I have no interest in such a weapon. A shorter blade maybe, but not one of such size. It would be better suited in another's hands. My spear and the powers granted me by the elements will have to suffice against the worms."Mak nods in agreement after recovering from the 'nudge'. "Tomorrow then. Let's meet at the gates an hour after sunrise and put in a good day's labor."

Speaking of, do you have the ability to enchant a weapon with magics, if only for a short time? I've heard of such Templarate spells but only as rumors." He asks

Mak shakes his head and shrugs then pauses in thought for a moment, then wiggle his hand to indicate 'sort of'. "I can manifest magical weapons from the elements that only I can wield... though I can for a short time improve weapons of bone or wood for others. If you carry a simple club or staff of wood and find yourself in a tight spot, I can temporarily ensorcell it with magic power and vicious barbs."

"You mentioned bone, can you do the same to my bone blade?" Mak nods then emphasizes, "Yes, but only for a SHORT period of time. A few minutes at most."

"If a battle takes longer, you've got other problems to worry about... how many times per day can you cast your bone and wood weapon enchantments?"
