Coden, meanwhile, stays with Victory, expecting that he'll wait for this honey pot to play itself out before he joins the action. Victory gives Coden a brief look of puzzled surprise followed by acceptance then joy. He looks Coden up and down and states as he sits down "You're not soft like the nobles I've regularly seen in the box seats but are you sure you want to be here? I imagine it's a different view from in the melee than it is from the stands. Have no fears though, I won't let any harm befall you. Let's see how long it takes for these little troublemakers to get out here." (OOC: @bob, remember, Victory shaved the day he changed his name to Victory. He set down the persona of "Rizla the Mad Monkey of Nibenay" when it was brought to his attention that those were choices made for him rather than by him) |

"I've been in the occasional scrum. Not like fighting for one's life in the arena, I'm sure, but I have some idea of how to use my fists," Coden replies to Victory in a low voice. "While there are certainly nobles who stay home eating fruits and counting their money, I'm not one of those."
Though he speaks to Victory, his eyes occasionally dart to the side, as he stays tuned in to what's happening with the dwarves. "Also helps that I've developed my psionic knack for sensing danger."

[I'm a bit confused on the placement and timing of all the PC's currently.
-Red/HurK is inside, spying and waiting for the dwarves to pay/leave
-Victory is outside in a nearby alley getting harrassed by the Popo
-Laakh is inside AND outside?
-Coden is outside in the alley having a conversation with Victory?
-Khuv is... I have no idea]

Laakh stated intent to follow everyone out after Victory, and OOC I asked do we want to split up? but as things progressed, he:
1) got barmaid's attention while leaving
2) Bob added city guard calling for backup with the bouncer
3) followed up info gather on dwarves
4) chill and blend in with bar crowd waiting for city guar to do their thing.
Coden is with Victory outside. Red and Laakh are inside. Khuv?

Yes.
And Coden's presence, dress and appearance causes the man to start.
"He's your ward? Telvor. Call off the support."
He turns to the noble.
"Um. Just make sure he makes it somewhere safe, sir. I assume that isn't a problem?"
A patrol of six templars is seen coming up from the dockmaster's building, that you once woke Sherval up upon entrance to the city some weeks ago. The man with the whistle makes a hand gesture and the rest begin to turn back.

(Sorry for the confusion there, I figured that since Coden's noticeable, it was best for him not to be in sight of the dwarves - unless we needed him to be bait.)
Coden nods and says, "No trouble. These misunderstandings do occur from time to time. We'll cause you no more difficulty, I'm sure."
As the watch retreats he says to Victory, "We might want to reposition before that templar patrol arrives. They might ask questions about why a noble is slumming here and pressure me for a bribe."

[Q for the group: do we want to waste our time and efforts on these dwarves when we know that they work for the Mul Templar Sherval? Don't we want to question him instead? If he's the metal rod wielder, then he's our main target, no?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for removing one more piece of trash from Athas. Just seems in our best efforts to start from the top since we have the barmaids lead.]

Laakh keeps the barmaid at his side after her reply, making sure that Red sees the exchange of coin. Keeping his voice just low enough for her to hear, hand over his chin to foil the lip-readers:
"Bit more for that coin, then off you go: "Keeping them two (dwarves) out of the picture, Where does Short Baldy keep himself right about now? Do his help include a big nasty brute, long arms and ears, pointy teeth? And what do I call you, besides prettiest barmaid in town, if there's more questions next time your eyes brighten my day?"
After she answers, he tips his head and shrugs to Red: "I'm done here."
