Sitting on the edge of a broken wall or staring through the cracks and missing sections of wall presents quite the scene. The four impossibly tall towers of marble frame the broken field of houses, buildings, fountains and ruins of domed temples much like the borders of a megalithic arena. Hundreds, maybe thousands of skeletal remains dance about in parody of mass violence.
The ground is uneven and shattered in places, off-tilt like a broken cake top cooked at too high a temperature, radiating from the gigantic blackened patch that must have been a place of most terrible destruction. Faint purple and green light seems to radiate from the cracks. Almost misty, not something one sees in the Tablelands often.
The undead push towards the towers, defenders and offenders reliving a similar siege from years upon years ago. The animals have long since left the city. Even the bugs seem to avoid this place.
As far as weapons and arms? Much has moldered, rusted and disintegrated over time. The rare leader-like forms occasionally carry something that hasn't completely vanished. Tattered banners, now illegible flutter in the cold desert wind. Occasional shouts are heard and it's quite difficult to tell where it comes from. Perhaps the less skeletal ones still have a memory of lungs... or it could simply be a haunting of that one last night before whatever begat this infinite show.
Speaking of lungs, you hear a few shrill whistles. Some of the offense carry what look to be clay or stone whistles. The sound is of a dying babe, amplified a few dozen times.
You do get to know each other better, perhaps just to escape the insanity that's separated only by a heavily broken wall. Rest is not easy.
[Someone drop me a watch order.]

Watch 1 Khuv Laakh Kri-kcht Yiska
Watch 2 HurK Kri-kcht Abez Druuso - The only new hand was the now PC Kleys. Drusso is an elf NPC hand as well (and Mark Hope's old character). IF we had two newer ones from Altaruk? Let's have them have vanished at some point or quit off camera.
Watch 3 Kleys Kem Kri-kcht Haske
[Mac is sleeping the entire time]

Kri-kcht saved the skin of one of the erdlu. Since the creatures always run when spooked, he had a really brilliant thought. He would cut strips of skin and twist them together and putting a stone at the end. (He is developing a hunting tool called a Bola) (I guess he could save about 10 sq. Foot of skin)

During his deck watch, HurK keeps his light orb within his canine's, lips closed. His Two swords unsheathed and leaning against the Gambit's side guardrail.

- Before the time to rest, Kem walks close to the outer wall, without stepping in, and grab a few small pieces of stonewall dispersed nearby, half fist each in size or a bit less - 'This might be a great memory in the future, if we can survive to it. How many could get close enough to Bodach and return alive and with an ancient physical memory?' - She thinks as she store them in her pouch and returns where everyone else is. Kem goes to sleep, as her turn to make the watch will be the last one

Kem can't help but notice the kreen. If he's attempting to tan something? He's going about it wrong.
He could start by washing the hide or scraping the fat more. He missed some spots. Since there was no hair? He didn't need urine to strip it - but if he wasn't going to rinse it, he needed to scour it with salts and/or sand and then cover it in some of the more stick-like herbs about or a mix of those and piss brought to a boil and couple hour steeping.

- Looking to the attempt that Kri-kcht makes, Kem gets close to them, still a bit wary of his racial predatory instincts - Hi, I should not be that curious but I couldn't take my eyes of your attempt - Once the intention of the weapon is clear I keep telling them - No offence, as I understand your intention in crafting it is clever, but your method is not the right one. If you allow me, I could explain you the best way to treat this hide for your purpose, for a long lasting run.. - As my mind attempts to decipher facial gestures in the insectoid that would ever show whilst waiting their reply

Kri-kcht gladly accepts any help with his....experiment.
He explains to her that he was planning to cut the hide into a long small strip of leather, dry it with sand. Later on chew it to make it supple and than braid it.
( OOC: Personally I worked long enough in a leather tannery to know the basics of ancient leather tanning)

- I'm not a great crafter, I manage from raw, and aiming to learn more refined skills - Kem grab some of the leftover bones and explains how he could start by washing the hide after scraping the fat more by doing it in the bones. Then a good scour with sand, as it's most common and handy around. Kem keeps explaining the rest of the procedure - 'As thri-kreens have natural chitinous caparace, they miss these bits, although I can see good practice here' - She thinks to herself just to add - I'll be happy to hold some of these bones for my craft -
[OOC: It's not what you know, which I don't question, but your character, as detailed in her though]

- But if any remaining of flesh is left, it could ruin the whole piece - Kem replies back - What does matter the size of its brain? - Adresses with curiosity

@#the 'rain of animal is 'ig enough to tan its hide *#*" the kreen says. "Kri-kcht thinks is silly story@#¤°" In the meantime he keeps on removing scraps of flesh and rolling the leather strips in the sand.
(Ooc : mentioned in the books of "clan of the Cave bear"....)

- The rain of an a animal.. - Kem thinks for a second and all of the sudden replies - Yes, of course it might do as well! - Like the reaction of an elf moving at full speed

The tanning discussion is had, tiny bird brains bashed into paste to cure the potential leather. A couple days under the sun and more work could be done. Kri-kcht begins forming dasl-saliva beads out of the sight of the non-kreen.
Those whistles. Shudder. Eventually, come the morning the boney masses shamble backwards. Some into cracks in the earth. Others into the many doorways that line the massive mortally-unoccupied ruins. The lights fade; the sun creeps over the eastern horizon. Animals begin their trek back into the city soon after.
Your watches are uneventful. After your morning reflections, you are interrupted most suddenly by the same trio of dead. They simply are *there* standing on the deck of your ship. They each carry black orbs the size of a cucurbata gourd.
The Speaker Veneteer states, "We have agreed to let some of you go. Three of you stay will with us until the task is complete. Bring us the head of Wyan and we will trade in turn."
The other two nod in unison.
