Khuv looks to you and simply shakes his head.
"I hope I don't need it... but these are not the only dwellers in the city ruins. Would you take this from me now?"
Haske nods. "I'll also need something to defend myself properly. Is there anyone else that benefits from such a blade? My sister has our mother's sword, which is clearly superior as far as enchantment is concerned."

Odrela turns to Mak, ignoring Hurk's query of her capabilities.
"We have many had many, many laws. Many are, were, woven into the pretexts of our faith. I would not know where to begin to answer such questions... perhaps if you prove yourselves and bring back the head of Wyan, the others may allow you to peer upon the tomes of Bodach's history we have secreted away far beneath our home."
The Unnamed One adds, "Theft is punishable with one's life. Harming livestock within our walls is verboten. Wearing red on a holy day is also punishable by death - as it calls on the bloody memories of the oppressor's forced tithe in our past. These are a few of the rules that we personify."
***
It is at this point that Shardivan calls upon Laahk mentally. <"Forgive me, I was in talks with Chax-chik concerning the kreen under Bokum's thumb and what appears to be a faction within our Order. What did you wish to know?">

The half giant frantically looks down to make sure he's not wearing any red, then looks at the others as well...

- I also look for any red in my clothing to get rid of it, nodding once the red is not wore - 'Interesting laws..' - And keep looking to the lawmakers

Mak listens intently as Odrela and the Unnamed One speak. "It seems clear that Bodach has worked with allies in the past. Us now and the dwar of Kemalok in the past. Tell me, have you ever had dealings with King Harkor of the Southern Kingdoms?"

Laakh watches with poker face as he replies to Shardivan:
<Request update on your team's arrival and status of Order's faction hostile to us. Bodach's Meortys forced a deal on us to return with Wyan's defeated remains for return of our ship and 3 crew. We have their Aid and Protection for this new escapade. So. Waiting for your aid, then on to face Dote Mal Payne and his floating head and their armies. Land or air transport now priority.>
after a beat:
<How are you?>

"It is no holiday in Bodach. Worry not of your attire." Odrela explains.
Mak listens intently as Odrela and the Unnamed One speak. "It seems clear that Bodach has worked with allies in the past. Us now and the dwar (sp) of Kemalok in the past. Tell me, have you ever had dealings with King Harkor of the Southern Kingdoms?"
The Speaker of the Meorties replies. "Dw-ur; not dw-ar. Some call them dwarves, but that is an improper slur for such a proud race. What of Harkor and the Southern Kingdoms? They are long gone, destroyed by the Warbringer's experiments to explore other worlds. Is it not still covered in volcanic glass? Our city had close ties with the south, when the sun was still yellow."

<"I have been better, there is much to accomplish if I am to keep the others from focusing on you and your friends. Give me six or seven days before you leave Bodach's protection. I will try and find out Wyan and Dote Mal's location... I'll set one of my allies on that as soon as possible.">

"Speaker, those that stay behind... What will their day to day be? Will they have access to roam the city or are they locked away in some prison cell until our return? What food and water will they be given? And what protection does the ship receive from gnawing animals and boring insects?"

Continuing with the elder psion:
<If there is anything I or others can do to throw off the scent of those focused on us? Thank you. This is all...a bit much.>

Mak turns to regard the Speaker. "Dw-ur. Apologies, no disrespect was intended. I'm several millennia behind on the proper speaking conventions. As for the Southern Kingdoms, they are not gone, only changed... much like Bodach is but... different. If those below would refrain from ripping my flesh from my bones, I would consent to share all of my knowledge with your ruling council about the wave of obsidian and the status of the southern kingdoms. No bargain, I freely offer this information as a show of the new friendship between us."
After hearing the word from Shardivan through Laakh Mak will once again approach Odrela, "Lawkeeper Odrela, we have been instructed to remain within the safety of Bodach for approximately 1 week before departing to the north to seek Wyan. Apologies for leaning on your hospitality for such a duration. I petition you for my company to gain access to your great city, additionally if you could make us aware of how the living might best comport ourselves so that we preserve the goodwill between us and avoid any distasteful quarrels while we reside with you, that would be most gracious."

"We can talk, in depth - after you have proven your worth and the veracity of your statements." Interjects Odrela.
The other two nod.
The Speaker replies to Mak.
"You may drink of our water during the day. Slaughter not any animal within the city walls."
He turns to Hurk.
"Your friends, after you decide to embark on your quest, will help us in organizing the tomes we have protected below. Your vessel will be safe from intrusion, onlookers and the like. If you find Wyan and bring his head here? I would go as far as to grant you citizenship of Bodach, as is my right."
The Un-named One gasps (as a lich might?).
"There have been no new citizens since Waverly and the Warbringer pounded at our gates. Can you be sure..."
The Speaker almost instantaneously backhands the odd undead man, knocking him a full four steps back.
"IT. IS. MY. RIGHT." Turning to the rest of your assemblage, he replies, "Stay above ground. Do not disturb below. Understood?"
Meanwhile, Laahk is merely told, <"You're still breathing... that's all that matters for the moment.">

Mak shrugs, "Well then I hope I don't die in this attempt, otherwise the knowledge offered dies with me."
Speaking to the living, "I will provide food and drink while we wait. After my morning prayers, I would like to spend some time learning the Way from one of you so that I may better interact with some of our assets. My people are not skilled in such talents."

Turning to the rest of your assemblage, he replies, "Stay above ground. Do not disturb below. Understood?" HurK turns to Dru and Khuv with an intense stare that clearly illustrates <DO NOT FUCK THIS UP> then turns back to the speaker and bows "Understood Speaker."Meanwhile, Laahk is merely told, <"You're still breathing... that's all that matters for the moment."> turning to Laakh "Ask him what questions he still wants answered of the Psurlons head. We were interrupted before he was going to give us additional questions..."

- Kem nods in agreement to the words Lady Odrela says - 'It seems sensible' - although the offering of Bodach citizenship seem a bit unsettling - 'Did she mean as we are or by becoming one like them?' - Resolving that the answer will certainly be discovered on our return
