The rest of the day passes with hopes of study and preparation for the mission before you. Night comes quickly as you take your rest.
However, you are all stirred from your sleep from the sounds of ruckus in the streets. Looking outside to the west, a bright green-yellow light brightens the skies, streaking in between the twin moons of Ral & Guthay. You could read by the light if you had something to peruse. Residents of Kurn stare and point. A trio of horns sound. Rubbing your eyes, you see the glare descend west as a tiny almond shaped thing streaks far beyond the White Mountains. It is lined in the same odd colored light and falls out of view quickly. The glow though lasts for a full 15 second count before fading quickly... much like a sunset. A bizarre, alien second sunset.
Since Guthay is almost full, there is enough light after this event to still see the city react. Torches and fires are lit. General, hushed murmurs commence.
We live in such interesting times.

If Ande takes flight to attempt a better view, does she see evidence of an impact? Does it just disappear over the horizon?
I don't imagine she spend more than 15-20 minutes investigating it before returning to the City.

No one openly disagrees with Chat'cho's remark as Ande takes to the air.
Where she cannot fathom where whatever it was has fallen.
The dry wind blows fiercely to the east this evening as she crests the mountain tops.

"It must've been as you said, I see no evidence of a crater" she speaks as she returns. "I can only wonder as to what has caused it's delay"

...tiny almond shaped thing streaks far beyond the White Mountains. [Bob since HurK's been here for over a year I would think he's had a decent distance gauge of the surrounding mountains and other visual landmarks from his airlifting excursions and patrols. Can he tell how far it "probably" landed/impacted based on this experience? Also can we have a simple map of our current location with the surrounding mountains? -Map Markus]

- Eslyk gets surprised with the event, even so with - "Is that the messenger? If so, if ended by the White Mountains, how would return back next time?.. Like you?" - looking at Ande at her return - "I never paid much attention to such events unless these could alter the mood of beasts. This one will, if crashed there.."
The female Halfling looks at Chat'cho - "As we are going to travel to Tor-kreen's lands, and just in case, could you teach me the basics of your language?"

"Well, I wasn't expecting it to be delayed. The planets and stars and other things that travel the heavens tend to operate with a precision not found many other places on Athas. I guess that makes sense since they're not of Athas?" Ande briefly hops in an anxious way. "Regardless, I was curious to see if there were any other anomalous features to our heavenly visitor though was unable to discern anything beyond what we all witnessed over Kurn" Ande sighs and tilts her head, viewing Eslyk with a knowing side-eyed glance "You do know that the heavens have their effects on all beasts yes? The influences they have on all creatures are overwhelming and subtle in nature. There is no shame in not having a comprehension of that which you have not studied. Perhaps soon, we can find some time and I will share your natal chart with you." Ande shifts her positioning so that she is facing Eslyk properly by the time she's finished addressing her. "However we've more pressing matters at the moment..." she says as she withdraws a Gold Coin from her harness and begins mumbling to herself. She's casting Idea. Spelltext included below (please ignore the unnecessary text), it is available as Sphere of Cosmos

- Eslyk nods as Ande speaks - "That would be interesting, thank you" - with a smile, that changes to a face of big surprise when the female Aaracokra shows a gold coin - "Ooohhh.." - is all she can articulate for a few seconds before getting a bit closer to look at it.
She slightly shakes, then she speeds up her pace and moves behind HurK, trying to put some space between Ande and herself, remaining there for a little bit of time.

Niachi lopes in from his quarters and heads to the window with the best view of the event.
"The Messenger! Or a message?!"
He keeps his eyes glued on the sky to memorize for future tale-telling, then if no other things fall from the sky, he turns to see Ande with gold in hand. In his rush, he only grabbed one weapon. He leans on a sturdy blackened legbone, keen on their sky-diviner's spellcraft.

"I can teach you a xhew things a*out it, *ut it would take so mme ti mme. How long, I do not know, *ut it would certainly *e a xhew days."

Ande gets a flash of inspiration, perhaps guided by her intense knowledge of the Heavens (and the spell, of course).
"This landed beyond the Great Western cliffs. The light betrays that much."
As far as a map, I'll throw one in the chat for now.

As far as a map, I'll throw one in the chat for now. "Ahhhh, yes, I should hope that it did not cause too much damage." Her eyes grow wide "Have you seen what happens when you drop a boulder 1000'? It's spectacular!" she trails into mimicked giggles. After a moment, she regains her composure and states "This will necessitate that we gather the appropriate equipment to recover and study anything left in the impact crater. I very much desire to study star material with my own physical senses."

The half giant watches the glow die down, snorts in anger, rubs his eyes then turns and goes back to his bed to finish his sleep.
