you do make out a circular depression in the grass. It is much like in the real world, where a deer and her fauns might lay during the evening. There is no evidence of hair or spoor either. Tell me if you wish to pause and investigate further or carry on. HurK will hop off the inix and investigate the circular depression with his Overcompensator as a walking stick of sorts. [If some kind of maw springs close on him like a big steel bear trap he will push the scimitar down into it's mouth as hard as possible with all his 1200 lbs.]

Chat'cho seems pleased that the Tohr'Kreen also think the Aarakocra is pretty.
[Tohr'Kreen] "We have seen the great comet fall to earth. In our land it is called the Messenger, and it would appear it will grace our skies no more. We considered exploring the crash site, but it was considered preferable to submit ourselves to you here beforehand. We have also heard rumors of a great undead army that threatens all in the world. Can we assist you with these matters? We wish to be useful."

To Hurk and Co.:
Nothing jumps out. Tell me if there's an proficiencies/skills/powers you'd like to aid your investigations.
To Chat-cho and Pet:
"That is a matter for the clutch to decide." He turns to the other Tohr-Kreen. "Honey, if you could take the kids - I can wait here for their clutchmates. Tell clutch-leader J'lact that we humbly request his presence."

Chat'cho bows her head, keeping her hands to herself. Her eyes, however, explore as much of the alien environment as possible, trying to pick up any useful information a less observant Kreen might have missed.

The half giant places his palm in the center of the depression to see if it's warm

Observing the city, you notice shelled slugs shimmying up and down the slopes of the domed buildings. These are z'oct'n. You wonder how the Tohr get them to form constructs... as it seems that the amber-colored slime is forming the outer shell. Z'oct'n are used in the Tablelands as well. They often coat obsidian weapons with the snails to prevent them shattering upon any impact.
***
The area does not feel overly warm. It is getting to be about 10 or 11 in the morning though and the air itself is starting to heat. What seems weird is the lack of a path or trail that you can see going to or fro from this patch of flattened foliage.

Chat'cho will wait where she stands, passing the time by quietly introducing herself to any Tohr'Kreen who approach her, providing her name, occupation and marital status.

(Edit: as we are still a ways from the hive city, Niachi will still have all his items on him until they approach.)Behind Hurk, keeping his eyes on the skies above and grasses all around, bow nocked.
“Maybe a flier’s roost? You smell any more tabac? Could be a ranger out there on recon. Or spellcasting effects!”
He makes sure the team knows where they are and keeps his voice low. Checks the skies again.

“Maybe a flier’s roost? You smell any more tabac? Could be a ranger out there on recon. Or spellcasting effects!” The half giant sheaths his great scimitar. "No foot path in or out. I'm no Ranger but I'd put my ceramics on a bird too. Let's keep moving..." HurK pats 'fruit cart' on the front shoulder blade then gets up into the saddle. Once in the stirrups he'll stand and do a 360° scan of the area. If nothing alarming is seen he'll follow the group once again...

Well, unless anyone else wants to act, we can have you move forward. I'm going to catch some Z's, so I'll check back in the morning. -Bob

It will take about another hour or so for the rest of the party to arrive. Flight has that benefit of having fewer obstacles as long as the wind behaves. However, as you are pinged mentally by Ande, you do make out a circular depression in the grass. It is much like in the real world, where a deer and her fauns might lay during the evening. There is no evidence of hair or spoor either. Tell me if you wish to pause and investigate further or carry on. (OOC: How long will it take for me to get the message that for now it's safe and we are not seen as targets by the kreen of the settlement? I will drop Danger Sense then so that at least over time I start getting PSPs back again.) Is the circular depression en route for us? Or is that near the rut of the Messenger we passed? How large a depression is it, how big a creature would lay there, can I guestimate? Quila does the measuring/guessing at the same time as HurK is investigating with his large weapon.
After a while we move onward to the settlement.

You are perhaps 9-11 miles or a solid hour worth of hiking from the settlement. You can have the news of relative safety pretty much right at this moment (thus the 'pinged by Ande' remark). The ring of depressed grass isn't far past the Messenger's rut. The diameter of the circle is around 15'. The grasses are slightly more compacted towards the middle - you'd guess that the majority of the occupant's mass rested there.

Can Quila make an inference that some of those Jalath'gak would have struck down here or does that make no sense?

If it was a jalath'gak, it would've probably had to have been a smaller one, as the wingspan on those can get to 20 feet... or possibly you are unfamiliar with how they deal with their wings when landed.

- Eslyk looks all around, but also dropping her Danger Sense devotion and looking at HurK - "I would not be able to understand a sound even if I was right in front of them, but just hoping that the mood and behave between both sides, them and Chat'cho goes in the good direction, as they are more related than anyone else"
She then looks around her, searching for any tracks or rests other than those that a Tri-kreen like Chat'cho may do.
[OOC: I succeed in a regular Tracking roll (rolled 11 out of 11), although I'm not sure if there is any modifier by terrain and/or time, as detailed in the PHB p. 64]
