On sight of it being an infection rather than a bipedal combatant, Ande will rush to the mold and cry out "Oronis, empower me to ease this creatures burden!" as she places both of her wing-hands on the infection and casts Cure Disease.

If the Cure Disease takes effect, it might take some time to tell. The affliction rapidly disappears thereafter, making the cured creature whole and well in from one turn to 10 days, depending on the type of disease and the state of its advancement when the cure took place. (The DM must adjudicate these conditions.)

- Eslyk looks at HurK - "If you feel you can't stay for more, I can cast a gate to the fields outside and once you recovered, we can return" - she scratches her bum then talks once again - "Where did they have their last contact with? Is this mold a wild talent? What is attracting it here?" - like rethorical questions, but she looks around what the mold was mostly infesting, perhaps there is something that could answer any clue

Ande will turn to face the party "I trust that it is done, Oronis will not fail, though it may take some days of recovery to see full effect.  I will not stop you from attempting to accelerate that recovery time if you should choose to.  I'm going to ask Efurth if he feels a difference yet"

She will exit through the membrane that she didn't enter from and head back to Efurth, asking him "Do you feel any better friend?"

Before Quila could do anything, her companion Ande has called upon Oronis to unburned the Messenger from its affliction.
"Congratulations for your swift action Ande. Are you yourself okay since you have touched the foul things?" Quila asks her feathery friend.

"What I can do is see if it had any effect. Hold on." Quila looks at the glassy region where the infection is and speaks the words, "By the powers of Kurn, inform me on this afflicted." and casts Detect Disease (lvl 1 priest).

Until the disease is gone, it will still detect as a disease.

But...

You do get the divination beyond that, that this mold is mushroom-like and technically falls under a disease (since you're able to detect it at all).

Assuming no other caveats, Ande's cure *should* in theory work. Well, if Oronis' will affects that not of Athas. Really never tested that as a Templar, nor expected to need to think this outside the box as far as faith is concerned.

Observation reveals that Eslyk's bum does *indeed* itch and that if it wasn't two alien Stranges working in tandem, that the one removing brains could have walked down this way first before performing it's dark surgeries.

- Eslyk got surprised by the feeling, as it's more than she often does as a kind of tick. Thinking about what it has been seen here, she focuses in getting aware of danger and activates her psionic ability, firstly centered on her, then in everyone around her a bit nervous, looking at Quila

"Hmmm. This infection, or mold, is fungus-like. But since I'm detecting it, it is a disease. But, Ande, and others, we are not sure what we are dealing with here. Our Athas-based powers may have a very different effect than we would expect on these alien lifeforms that are not of Athas."

Glancing at HurK stepping forward and Eslyk looking surprised and apprehensive, Quila takes a step back and calls a bit worriedly after Ande traipsing off, "Do we know if the Strange are outer-planar or just the space between Athas and the moons as Erfurth said they encountered them? Ask him if you please."

Focusing her attention back to the room, she says to HurK and all presently intent on the infection, "It might react totally differently to what we do to it. Be prepared for the worst. I mean, is this something a Strange did to the Seed or is it a decomposing Strange, we know so little." As she talks, she makes sure to position herself with her back to the wall opposite the glassy compartment, near to the membrane-door Ande walked through just before. "Eslyk, come stand here, away from that stuff as HurK does his thing to it."

When Ande reaches Efurth, she asks him "Friend, do you know if these Strange are of the Stars or from the other places beyond even them?  We have done what we believe we can though will stay vigilant for any sign that more care must be taken for you and your Seed.  Do you feel better yet? I feel I must reiterate" she pauses as if to collect herself before sighing and continuing "I am very much an avid fan of The Messenger and am wont to sit and listen to you regale us of your tales from beyond the stars.  I do so wish to tell my comrades of your condition and will await your elaboration patiently."

She'll stand there patiently, wings folded, awaiting a response.

Hurk concentrates on the cancerous, alien mold. The goliath wills it to unbind from within; to dissipate.

It fades into nothing much sooner than Oronis' boon... or perhaps it was the combination of the two forces. Perhaps something to research further.

The air itself feels as if a great tension is released. The ground itself feels slightly softer underneath your feet.

(But no, the dimensions of the room do not change in any apparent way.)

He pats the wall lovingly while whispering "There you go little buddy..." Pleased with himself, HurK follows Ande back to the throne room to interact with the Seed

Quila thinks of all those times in the past when she and her companions thought things were done and fixed. She still feels a bit tense from those recollections if not from the sudden cessation of the infectious matter and the way it felt present.

Before following the others to the Oculus she will concentrate and scan the whole room with the still active Detect Disease. Just to be sure. Sometimes paranoia is warranted. She feels this could be one of those times.
