"WHAT IF THE ELF MERC WOULD'VE HAD BACKUP? You guys would've been in a tight jam low on spells. I know he works with a magiks caster partner that can turn things invisible. HE may still be out there..." HurK trails off looking into the direction they came from
Quila looked amused by the shared exhilaration with Ande about the whole situation, and even accepting of the criticism and advice up until now, but with this latest addition she feels talked down to and she will have none of that, however well the intention behind it. You see something ignite behind her eyes and her complexion gets something of a reddish flush to it.
She crosses her arms and looks up toward HurK, focuses on Coden and Niachi for a short moment, and then cocks her head back up to HurK to address him, "Now listen. You may be more or wider-traveled than me, more knowledgeable about certain things, and you even mean well. But I will not have myself spoken to as if I'm a fool or a novice. I have seen my share of problematic situations involving all kinds of actors, especially mercs and mages in the employ of someone in the shadows. It is what I was trained to deal with. Maybe not on a savanna, but honestly who of us was, and more in an urban Tablelands context, but I know full well some of the calculated risks I take for the cause. Yes, I teleported there alone, but you were not linked in thought and senses as I was with Ande at the moment the explosive rift occurred and she was blasted from the sky and fell down, partly broken and singed. There was, as she said, a real urgency to act. And I was certainly not low on spells."
That last sentence ends with a distinct rise of incredulity and a swallowed-back choking sound. She looks serious and annoyed, but not angry or aggressive, rather emotional and touched by this verbal altercation. She breathes in and out, and then says, "I have said on the matter all I want to say. I sure do hope that partner of his is still out there. That would be another chance to find out who sent the elf merc. I'm sure we will find out since our mission is watching over the Messenger as soon as we have done what we could here in Nirik-Tohr. And they are here for a purpose. They didn't go after Ande for nothing, whether it was to neutralize her or to capture her."
During this elaboration the fire in Quila seems to simmer down a bit and she will step forward and flash a friendly smile to Hurk and lightly touch his hand and whisper quietly, "I know you mean well. Thanks for caring."
Looking over at Ande, she adds, "Ande, you did find some remnants in the mud and grass, did you not? We might be able to use those things to investigate further with the Way or some divinations. Pray, what are those things you found? Let us work together to solve things, indeed."

(OOC: Ande was at 29 HP out of 45 when we came back. You were at 21 then asked for more healing by me before we left. That was another Cure Moderate for 8 HP. You might have missed that one. Not sure if it matters, possibly costs HurK less PsP to heal you?)

Probably just missed the extra heal in text. Since rest is likely, PSP totals shouldn't hopefully need to be that exact.

As she settles in for the roosting meditation, she'll produce the fragment of Rose Quartz as well as her swatch of mobat fur (wiping her side, [not cloaca] disdainfully with it) in response to Quila's inquiry.
She pings Quila <They think we're no better than the servants of the Dragons to the south, they do not understand, do not take their rantings personally, we will prove to them their misunderstanding>
Speaking aloud "I brought them with me, will they be examined during our rest? If not, I will hold onto them until it is time to investigate them further" as she tucks them back into her harness (unless it is proposed that they will be examined by kreen during our rest).
She has an unmistakable expression of prideful satisfaction as she manipulates the swatch of mobat fur.
As she meditates through the watch, she'll contemplate a change in strategy for flying mounts-- bait pursuit, then dive through a wormhole with the exit positioned to eject Ande's talons on an intercept trajectory with the rider just prior to the mount contacting the wormhole, which she'd let close as she scooped the rider with a 'Combat Pocket'. She scoops rider, pieces of mount rain down. Skewer rider if necessary to placate during transport.
*Combat Pocket faces Ande's talons and essentially corners the quarry unless they want to jump. Insert Talons/spear and frappe. Dump the Pocket if necessary, collect the splat.

Pinging Ande back <Well yes. A templar is a templar is a templar. There is some truth to it obviously, which is why some of my colleagues can do their work so well in the south. I guess I am just really tired and overstimulated by all happenings of the last two days. It's been some time since I've seen action like this and it always makes me have vague feelings of apprehension ever since Celik.>
"If someone were to psionically object read the quartz fragment and find out the name of it's owner, or their date and place of birth, I could do a Personal Reading of them that provides us with more information. Otherwise, we can Know Age of the quartz or the mobat. I presume the attached piece of flesh is not elven, right? Is there singed or charred flesh, some ashes, I could use that. What else can I think of, erm, Locate Object maybe, or Speak with Dead, hah! .... Oh, wait, hold on...." as Quila muses about investigative options, she comes to a distinct insight, and she walks off collecting stones roughly the size of her hands, and starts stacking them into a cairn, while slowly chanting or singing a tune that sounds like a funeral dirge. She walks back to Ande, indicating she needs the quartz for this, indicating Ande will get it back, and after 30 minutes of activity, most of it spent sitting and staring at the stones, she will have cast Black Cairn (priest level 2) using the quartz (possibly one of the elf's possessions) to fasten the process.

Since basically every suggestion he has made has been either ignored or rebuked, Coden simply tosses his spear to one side and goes elsewhere to engage in deep meditation.

- Eslyk gets closer to the group once the excitement is diminished - "I can surely try to check that from the shiny quartz stone. Is that right?" - looking at everyone as she gets focuses in it first, then in the remains of the mobat fur
[OOC: Object Reading in both: Quartz (11 out of 12: Last owner's race), fur (2 out of 12: Last owner's race, sex, age & alignment). 45/99 PSPs left]

Object reading on stone: Male Elf
On bat fur: 37 year old, male elf, neutral
Black Cairn reveals that the mobat corpse resides somewhere hazy; unfocused, not of this savannah. There's bits and pieces of bat corpse and a scattering of more similar gems to the one you found floating about some slivers of red and gold wood in the air.

"Oh, oh," Quila guffaws, as she receives a vision, shivering a bit even though the evening is warm, "I see a haze, not of the savannah, where does one end up after a planar rift opens? There's some odd parts and viscera floating, some more similar gems like this quartz. And slivers of red and gold wood. That could have been a weapon or wand."
Quila slowly comes out of her trance and looks around. "I am sorry. That was all. If we have no means to get to that planar destination to recover some elf gore, there's not much except for talking to the dead I can do."

- Looking at the group - "These were last owned by a male elf, 37 years old and from a balanced morality" - raising the fur remains - "As this was last owned by a male elf. I suppose the same one but I couldn't discern more than this" - shrugging the shoulders

"Oh, uh, shall we return to the blast zone for further investigation, as a gathering this time? There are things that Quila describes that sound like familiar sights to me and I want to check something"
Ande gathers herself and looks around expectantly.
(OOC: This is also assuming this occurs after the full watch and Nap.)

Ande takes note of the sky and then replies "Sorry, in the morning after the nights watch and a Nap, the near death experience has me a little frazzled". She settles back into her position blocking the entryway to the party resting quarters and resumes workshoping strategies to help her maintain Athasian Aviation G.O.A.T. status.
