Transmute Defiler to Wormery (6th Level Alteration)
Range: 30 yards
Duration: Permanent
Area of Effect: 1 Defiler
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 5
Saving Throw: Vs. Spells
The Transmute Defiler to Wormery spell does exactly what it claims. If successful the target cannot be raised nor resurrected. All that is left is a mass of nutrient rich soil writhing with worms equal in weight to the targeted Defiler. The changes can be reversed by a Limited Wish if it is cast prior to the consumption of any produce grown from the soil. Wish will restore the subject back to life. The caster points at the target and speaks the verbal components; unless the target succeeds in a Saving Throw vs Spells, the transmutation takes effect. The soil created by this spell is under the effect of a Conservation spell for a number of seasons equal to the level of the transmuted Defiler (which cannot exceed the Casters Level). A defiler successfully saving still receives 2d8+1 points of damage.
Cannot affect defilers 5 levels or higher than the caster of this spell.
Material component is a singular gem of 100 CP or more in value that is consumed in the casting and a handful of grave dirt from a high level (9th level or higher) preserver.
Demi-Shadow Tangents (4th level Alteration, Enchantment/Charm, Illusion/Phantasm)
Range: 10 yards/Caster Level
Duration: 1d10 rounds/Caster Level
Area of Effect: One Psionicist
Components: V, M
Casting Time: 4
Saving Throw: Negate.
This spell is only useful against Psionicists. It feints an Attack Mode getting the target to commit to a Defense Mode and then blindsides them with an arcane confusion effect leaving them catatonic for the duration to any onlookers. Internally, they spend this time ‘righting the ship’ and correcting whatever acid trip mindscape chaos the spell occupies them with during this surrealist introspection. Targets make their saving throws with a -1 for every two Caster Levels. When they are no longer catatonic, they simply remember being overwhelmed by ‘psionic power unlike any they’ve previously experienced’ having no specific recall of the psychic contest itself.
The Material Component for this spell is the appropriate amount of PSP to pay for the best Attack Mode against the Defense Mode that the AoE uses. Beyond that, a quartz lens worth 1000cp must be on the casters person as well. The quartz lens is not consumed in casting. The Verbal component is a low resonant hum.
