- Psionic research to improve communication with animals:
Tongues of the Wasteland
Discipline: Telepathy (Devotion)
Power Score: Wis -4
Initial Cost: 8
Maintenance Cost: 3/turn
Range: Touch
Preparation Time: 0
Area of Effect: 1 creature
Prerequisite: Contact
The psionicist has mastered the ability to communicate simple concepts and commands to an animal creature. This is a bi-directional communication.
The wording has to be in a way the creature itself may understand, in terms of their environment, intelligence and instincts. Normally the animal would request something in return for their help, something to be discussed with the DM in a one to one basis, as each animal may ask for a different reward, normally food or water.
Power Score: The communication is self-maintained for as long as the psionicist desires, without incurring in extra maintenance costs.
Nat 20: The animal feels the contact as an attack, acting accordingly towards the psionicist in regards to its nature [or that all and every word that comes out of the psionicist's mouth sounds like the sounds of the animal their tried to communicate with (growls, chirps, roars..) for 1d4 hrs].
