- Looking at Niachi - "Oh, very clever" - smiling - "My worry here is how to keep us all safe from the planar damage, because even in the event of casting protection vs fire, I suspect we don't have enough between Chat'cho, Quila & myself to cover a full whole day for everyone" - looking at everyone

"I have 1 to spare. I need a slot to summon a little fire beastie to guide us once we're there... "My gouge it is..." Attilius unhooks it and deftly hands it to Niachi.

As Niachi takes his gouge, Attilius pulls out his oil flask. "Coat yourselves so when Niachi's done we can start this left side dance and wine pour. Who's got wine?"

Niachi takes the oversized weapon and using his knees, dampens its fall to the floor. His Enchant Weapon takes 1 turn. When done, he hauls it up with effort and offers it back.
"huff- Start timing it as if you're striking with it 80 times in a row, starting now. At your 80th strike, it's back to normal."
(OOC: duration 5 rounds/level, 40 rounds, +1 magical bonus. (#AT with his gouge: 2/rnd)

Attilius nods his understanding and puts away his oil "We'll use the fire amulet first, then oil up..." He starts dancing/stomping counter clockwise around the stone

- Skrye grabs one of the oil potions -"Thank you, shall I use it now?" - as she looks at the oil flask - "Any good archer here?" - looking around at the same time, as she also picks 3 small clay pots from her belongings to show everyone, 2 in one hand, one in the other - "I can also offer this 'weapon coatings' if anyone would like to use them at some point. The single in my hand is slightly more effective that the others"
[OOC: In mechanical effects, the one is a Class D [Method (Injected), Onset (1d2 mins), Strength (30/2d6)] and the hand with 2 have 2 Class B [Method (Injected), Onset (2d6 mins), Strength (20/1d3)].

Don't forget that within the scroll tube there was a small container with reddish liquid within.
But that's probably lich juice.

When the group is discussing tactics and options, Quila listens attentively and once her turn comes, she adds "What I can add for the group is manifest my Radial Navigation once we're on the other side. It might just help us get back to the portal place. I don't know how the plane works and if it would otherwise be easy to find our way back. I can also for a short period only protect from fire or increase one's resistance to it. As you can expect, if we're down to using such options, we are in dire straits indeed."
She pauses, looking around at everyone to see whether what she said registered, then she nods with a serious look on her face, breaks into a smile showing all her teeth, and says, "Now let me get back to finding out how this stone works ..."
Then she goes back to investigating the stone, trying to make sense of what the exact ritual to hold here would be. She tries to interpret the glyphs, and any telltale signs of previous passings that have left some sign, be it visible or olfactory or what have you. She also uses her Chronicler training and sees if there's any recollection, story, or instincts regarding such portal stones or rituals.
(OOC: 40% Chance to identify the general purpose and function of ancient magical items, tomes, or texts, with historical significance (works just as a bard ability).

Stones, monoliths and obelisks have always caught the imagination of the tale tellers of the wastes.
Ones with symbols or runes upon them? Even more so.
The Son of Kri-kcht notices you looking and states in thri-kreen, "My father spoke of something like this once. Not to the realm of fires, but of somewhere worm-ridden and with some strange wee folk. A wizard told them to use the spaces in between to speed their travels to hunt a foul defiler."
