Ok, so I was looking around the site and noticed the map page. I got to looking at the map, I noticed that there were paths in the silt between Ledo and the shores which represented (I imagine), skimmer paths through the silt. I started looking east to see if there were more and I noticed more paths running from Balic to Last Port and Smuggler's Rest. I also noticed that there were named mountains there in the silt between Samarah and Sun's Home. I do not remember seeing those being named before.
Are they like Ledo? A mountain with an island and a population? Maybe ruins to pillage? Creatures to trade with (or perhaps defend ourselves from)?
Is the Dragon's Palate inhabited? Officially occupied by anyone? Balican Navy?
What is known about it?

A lot of the islands have small clans of giants or ruins or hidden pirates or flyers, etc... Andro and his templars are no doubt aware of these things, but as long as the giants keep to themselves and trade hair, etc... they aren't generally a threat. As far as maps go, there's a few of the Tablelands. My physical copies are all hidden from my kids and laminated, I do enjoy this one with the silt paths. It really makes the idea of the Gambit a fun one. Freedom to explore where others don't too often. The other issue with silt paths is that the giants generally have to follow the same routes. There are some that are deeper than the standard skimmer, but that comes up pretty high on someone like Kaz.

Another question.
Do we have a map in our possession in character?
If so, is it accurate to those maps of the Tablelands available online? Is it the whole Tablelands? Is it the zoomed in Tablelands map from Elves of Athas (IIRC, that was the one with the map and portraits of different elf tribes bordering it)
Are there things missing that we as players might know, but our characters are ignorant of (example: Is the Mud Palace on our map? Are we aware of Waverly? Are we aware of the magma hellscapes to our far east and far north?)?
I know we've discussed trawling the Deadlands for metals out of character, but IDK if anything is known about the Deadlands in character.
Just some things I was wondering at work.

No map. They aren't common. That's a separate mini-quest and money expenditure in itself. I've made some minor nods to different locales of interest, mainly when Hurk was thinking about finding places that magic items might be located.

As far as silt height on some giants? There's pics that show them wading upper chest deep.

How much would it cost to hire a cartographer to tag along while we skimmed about searching for things? Make a comprehensive map of the Ledopolan Estuary (eventually it will catch on) from Altaruk to Celik to the Dragon's Palate (or whatever we decide to rename it) and then disseminate them for a fair price.

You want to hire a literate, scribe-type with cartography? Assuming you find one... are you prepared to pay a handsome salary? Coming out as literate is dangerous enough, at least in Balic. You'd have a better shot (% chance) in Altaruk. Do you really want to gather the attention openly looking as well? You'd also need a proper writing medium: parchment, papyrus, paper, ink or charcoal... perhaps even a book. This also sounds like you'd want to connect with an elven market, the Veil or even a Templar to properly achieve this type of hire or for the materials. Not as easy as putting out the word, unless you want to be enlisted in Balic's militia.

You make a good point and I looked it up, Cartography is a 1 slot general Proficiency originally in the Complete Ranger's Handbook. It'll have to wait until Haadan gains a level in Trader.
