Your ship is and has been at a complete stop. If you wish to move, you are literally moving more or so directly into their path. From the previous thread: You're perhaps 25 feet from the shore though, which is further than a gangplank can reach. ...and resting on a silt shallow. Here's the link to the map again, you are at the lower X. darksunsouthtablelands.obsidianportal.com/maps/123385If you still wish to raise sails and attempt to pole out of the shallow, you will most likely cross paths before you get more than a few yards out at their current pace. Coden can relay this since he never said anything about dropping his remote vision... they are definitely heading for the ship proper.

If there is, Haadan will alert the others while pointing the things out. If there isn't, he'll take aim at the approaching siltjellies and wait to fire until they're closer. I rolled Initiative if necessary, it was a 1

[Oh, no need to move the ship, I had it set up differently in my mind]
HurK whispers "call out your target starting from the left. I'll take number 1..."
At 120' out the half giant focuses inward to his nexus and envisions the #1 jellyfish erupting into flames
[Molecular agitation 17-> rolled 16, success Round 1: 1 hp fire damage; -7 psp Round 2: 1d4 fire; -6 psp Round 3+: 1d6 fire; -6 psp]

Nothing comes up other than your present company via infravision. However. You do notice the elves running below deck as you begin to try and take a bead on the floating glowers. [Any one else intentions?]

If nothing is observed in his 360 scan, Laakh calls "target 2" and when in 50 yard short range, he plants his feet wide, leans forward with jaw clenched under his dust mask and unleashes a neural assault on his target's pulpy form, focusing a Psychic Crush to hammer the thing into goo. Initiative 6. Score is 15, rolls 17 <"Dustfucker!!"> his brain wallops a tangle of wasted mental energy out into the dark, -7 PSPS.

They are psionically active - I'll let you learn that much with the fail. Also, roll contact first. If the 17 succeeds, you can use that and reroll twice. (All psionic attacks on a closed mind get two attacks a round at the cost of one activation. Eek! Tangents!)

OOC: Just so I get your meaning: for any psi attack we roll contact first, then if success, roll for 2 psi attacks?

Yessir. If it's not a psionically active enemy, you'd get through like normal with the attack (assuming a successful activation). In this case, you've met resistance. Still counts as one PSP activation - but you get two attack/activation rolls. Then I roll against your attack considering their defense modes. End of the round I tell you how many tangents you get. 3 "wins" and you can affect them as normal (the way the power states in the description). It sounds crazy, but it really isn't. The best part is, since you seem to be attacking first, you slow that opponent's move and keep it from melee.

What is their range at next round? We'll see. Have to have everyone act first. You slowed one at least.

[Any one else intentions?] Can I attack them psionically while await their approach to hand crossbow range? If yes, Contact on closest target, needed 15, rolled 20. Haadan cannot attempt contact with this mind again this psionicist experience level If a second attempt is possible in the same round, Contact on second closest target, needed 15, rolled 5 Prerolling a round's worth of Ego Whip-- Ego Whip #1, needed 14, rolled 5 Ego Whip #2, needed 14, rolled 20 (just fails, no additional effect) If no, just disregard this and assume Haadan keeps them sighted until they're in range.

Coden says angrily, "Why are we opening fire on thinking beings without trying to communicate first?!?"

Coden says angrily, "Why are we opening fire on thinking beings without trying to communicate first?!?" (Good point.) Haadan will attempt to communicate with the creature he has contacted, rather than just Ego Whipping them.
