Looks like I need one more. If nobody here bites I'll go to the slush pile over on the DARK SUN Facebook group.

Haadan, I've added character pages over on Obsidian Portal for your two starting characters. Just the stats and the race/class info that you provided before - you'll need to decide on powers, equipment, proficiencies, roll for hit points, etc. (Or if you just want to give me a general idea and have me build them out I can do that, but building the character is half the fun!).

I was going to do that today. They've both been evolving in my mind since I brought them up to you. Cawsqurawk is likely going to be a javelin kite rather than a dagger or dart fighter. He named himself after the sound that was made by a tribemate who advocated working with the slavers (after Cawsqurawk pegged him in the lung with a javelin). He sparked a tribal civil war and then fled his home village in the Ringing Mountains after the pro-slavery camp basically won the war. I'll post them up in a little.

It'll be tomorrow, we had an internet outage and my kids went crazy without it. I did some more thinking about them, Aqaphinia was a Tyrian slave who maintained a waterwheel which powered 4 trip hammers in a Tyrian iron mine (if that is acceptable). She escaped when Kalak fell.

That seems ok. I don't know if the iron mines themselves have water (there's no indication of a stream or waterway on the exterior map in City-State of Tyr) but you may well have been made to conjure the water and then control it to make a waterwheel go. Hooray for turning magical power into motive power! A very, very, very boring job.

Probably Constitution loss. You don't want it. It's bad.

Hooray for turning magical power into motive power! A very, very, very boring job. Our mine was the mine with a waterwheel. Aqaphinia was the sole reason that they were able to be as effective and efficient as they were. I picture the set up being a reservoir with two Archimedean screws, both drawing water from a lower reservoir to the upper reservoir which feeds the waterwheel dumping back into the lower reservoir. She is responsible for the creation of some, but much of it was brought in to be used by her for power generation. It may be a boring job, but that's how she's got the time for meditation and reflection. She's never had anything to do with the iron, not even been allowed to touch it. Her sole responsibility was to maintain the waterwheel and ensure that the trip hammers never go quiet. Yes, she was a civil engineer "scholar slave" which leads me to ask how well understood fluid mechanics are in your Athas.

I was thinking more about Aqaphinia at work.
Prior to the jailbreak when Kalak died, she never once stepped a foot outside of the mine she was born in. They were a captive autonomous labor collective who traded worked iron tools and weapons for food. When the templars who acted as their captors lost their spellcasting abilities they fled leaving the dwarves unguarded. When the collective realized they were no longer captives, some thought to flee too, though most stayed. Aqaphinia and her brother (not really her brother, an earth cleric co-worker), were among the contingent who chose to flee. While fleeing they got caught up in some of the chaos following the fall of Kalak and got separated. She was spotted by Cawsqurawk creating water and suddenly whenever anyone would approach her threateningly, javelins would rain on them.
The two of them have been travelling southwest for days if not weeks.

I'll need your Obsidian Portal handle, so that I can add you. We already have one primordial summoner but there's no reason we can't have two!
