"Everybody in!" shouts Coden as he lowers his spear into a defensive position. Seems like he is once again playing the "last man out" strategy.

"Everybody in!" shouts Coden as he lowers his spear into a defensive position. Seems like he is once again playing the "last man out" strategy. Rizla will go second to last, in the case that combat should result before then: Initiative: 4 Attack #1: 18 Attack #2: 11 Attack #3: 14 Attack #4: 17 Attack #5: 17 If the target is bipedal and all of the rolls hit, the sequence goes: Assume control of weapon hand with wrist grab/arm twist (7 points of damage), break jaw with hook (7 points of damage), break controlled shoulder with jab (7 points of damage), followed by a combo (6 points of damage) to the orbital socket as the wrist is released and closed with a second combo to the nose and mouth (6 points of damage; grand total: 33 points). If the target is a cliops, it gets kicked in the head 5 times for 30 points of damage. In either case, the KO% failed. If everyone (except Coden) gets through before anyone reaches Rizla, the above doesn't occur as Rizla will escape so as to not force Coden into combat on his behalf.

(OOC: An exchange with Alex and Markus has me understanding that Laahk will be running for the stairs.)
Just as Laahk the psion infiltrator manages to hit the first steps past Rizla...
"In the name of the Shadow King, STOP." The words ring out as she (the blond) holds out her free hand exposing the signet of Nibenay. A wave of dark energy washes over you and your general direction.
(I need saves vs. spells for both Laahk and Rizla at a -1 penalty. Hold Person is being cast. This occurs slightly before Rizla's attempt to attack - not that they've closed any distance.)
The red headed temptress simply states in disbelief, "They've opened the doors. THEY'VE. OPENED. THE. DOORS."

Edited to establish continuity: Damn I'm not refreshing to see recent posts!
OK save at -1 vs Hold Person: rolled 1.
As Hurk vanishes and the others run up to the wormhole, Laakh starts up the stairs. Botches his save. Is the following still possible Bob?
Power Manipulation Teleport the two of them up to the wormhole entrance, reducing cost by 20% and GTFO:
Teleport two people 10 yards: cost 20, score modifier +1: need 20, rolled 9 success. Power Manip: need 14, rolled 9 success, -5 PSPs, Result: cost 16, net save 1 PSP. We join the others thru the wormhole to the roof.
Or not.

Yes. Psionics are still possible. (I just rolled for Riz - also a failure.)
Just as your muscles begin to seize, you throw your hopes that someone will push you through the wormhole and that you aren't occupying the space held by one of the others.
(More rolls on my end.)
You luck out. You manage to avoid 'porting into Coden, and Yishka helps shove you through the gate.
All you hear below before popping out and onto the roof is...
"We are all, so screwed..."
PSP check in order.

Coden currently at 69 (nice). Just dropped Safe Path. This includes the points spent for clairvoyance.

As the Giant emerges from the roof, he lays down so as to not let anyone on the ground level see him. He carefully sets the two urns on their base and releases his ecto power [-53 PsP's] He'll quietly tell everyone to get down and stay away from the edges of the roof. "Did the tembo or cilops see you?" he quietly asks while removing his massive sleeping blanket, bed roll and cold weather robes from his pack. He will carefully wrap up both urns and tie the two soft bundles up with his giant hair rope, giving them both maximum cushion and protection. Then he'll carefully place them at the bottom of his pack. "Now, let's see what's so special about these urns..." Hurk pulls the stone tablets out of his tunic and lays them softly down on the roof to see what he can read off of them.

There are faint painted runes on the two urns, simply a different shade of black than the vessel itself. This is not anything you're able to read as you store them. The lids seem screwed, corked or sealed from casual opening.
The stone tablets, perhaps sixteen or eighteen inches by ten a piece are full of chiseled, cramped common script.
(One tablet) "Our expedition was a success into the realm of Harkor. The remains of his two most powerful servants have quickly been taken under his nose and we have once again made it back to my estate in Nibenay. His Lordship is happy with our accomplishments, he only insists that they are properly safeguarded... he also reserves the right to deal with them if they prove too hard to manage. My reputation is such that I do not believe this to be an issue."
(Second tablet) <Parts are chiseled off.> "...the main secret is to ward against... the room is now complete. Much of my fortune is spent of late, the renovations are costly. The rage is almost palpable; a physical force at times. I know his communion with these disciples of the first sorcerer have left him furious and...
(Third tablet) Looks to be written in an odd, alien script.
(Fourth tablet) "The Ur-Draxans are hunting me. I believe I have given them the slip. The masks! The lacquered..." The rest is defaced.
(Fifth tablet) "They come! I will destroy what needs to be destroyed and alert Gallard's shadow wives of my failure."
By the time you've perused the tablets fully, you begin to notice a change to the morning's normally musical tone. It's gone quiet.

"Khuv, Yiska, get on diagonally opposite corners of this building, stay hidden and be on over watch. I'm not concerned with the mound but we need to know if anything comes towards THIS building..." HurK tensely whispers

HurK pulls his Balican toga out and carefully and securely wraps the tablets up and within them. He'll pull out the urns from his pack, place the tablets at the bottom then carefully lay the Urn's on top of the bundled tablets. While doing so he whispers "Any of this make sense to anyone? The names? Harkor, Ur-Draxans, Gallard?"
Hurk thinks on his own lengthy school teachings of the way. Maybe he's heard of these people/places [Psionic lore 17, rolled a 1]

It does not take much time to notice that a squad of goliaths, some thirty in number, led by a smaller number of Nibenay's shadow wives, are slowly making their way towards this block. They are a half dozen blocks away to the west right now.
The half giants are in full regalia - rope armor of giant's hair, mekillot bone clubs or spears and the black & white checked head coverings of the Nibenese.
Either they were requisitioned from morning's drills or you really whapped the blood hornet nest this time.
Psionic lore touches on none of this.
