Abez replies to Laahk. "The ruins I was speaking of are off the mainland, jus' north and past the split in the tongue o' silt. Not on the isles. You be thinking of the haunted place I skirted and gave a wide berth to. I know, looks all the same after a bit. I'd suggest avoiding any islands... you think we could take a tribe of bigs like this one?" Nothing specific. You do recall the ruins he's mentioning... some largish stone blocks, light colored and elevated from the silt shore. Not as high an elevation as South Ledopolus (or the Cliffs of Despair in Princess Bride for that matter). You might need to park the craft a bit and walk the remainder or simply fly. Depends on where you want the Gambit placed.

"so, Capn'... if we want to avoid the Bigs, cruise around to a nice out of the way spot, maybe drop something into the silt to detect old wrecks, find delightful prizes, anyplace you suggest? Or we can just go a route you know to trade and see what happens? It's your ship. I can take the helm below whenever you need. Are we provisioned up?"

Depends on where you want the Gambit placed. HurK will suggest we find a good hiding spot first and foremost. If an out of sight cove can be found directly under the ruins, then all the better. Keeping the Gambit hidden is priority number one over ease of the ruins accessibility. We are a group of teleporters and shape changers after all...

Pallia says to Victory, "Well... I've never met someone else quite like me in this sort of appearance. Some people think it is a curse, that perhaps my family did something to offend one of the sorcerer-monarchs. All that I can tell you is that compared to others when I was young I was always much more sensitive to the sun and it always seemed like I would be scrawny and not very strong."
"So..." she continues with some apparent interest, "Once you smashed the elf's weapon, did he surrender, or did you keep on fighting until he was dead?"
"He was dead, I beat him to a puddle. I mean, he turned to run, but I took his legs. *drops into a Ryu leg sweep* I am told that I had to be clubbed to get me off his corpse. I was but a child still.... *holds his left hand like a height marker on his chest at ~64 inches* No one bothered to tend my wounds as they forgot that I had left this much *hold his fingers ~3 inches distant* bone blade in my gut. My Mother took me to one of the bath concubines who claimed to worship the pools, she healed me. I lost it because of the goading of the arena hands and then I panicked when I felt the blade, it is mostly a blur until the baths... It was one of the worst experiences I've endured."

Laakh & Company find Kaz about the strange mollusk-like creatures. Upon closer inspection, they have a few pseudopod-like appendages that break through the slit much like a real world mussel - with one main difference. Instead of a singular "foot" there are between 3-5 on these oddities. The psion asks, "We depart for islands north and *east* of here. Where are the bad giants? What we say or show to strangers of your kind who have good relations with Ledo, so they see us as friends?"
She guffaws loudly in response.
"BIG THING TO REMEMBER IF YOU NOT WANT TO FIGHT. CALL OUT AND ASK IF OKAY TO VISIT. SOMETIMES, THEY NO KILL YOU FIRST. WE DIFFERENT HERE. BERG SAY OKAY IF NO DWARF."
She thinks for a second and squats down to your (well, Hurk's) height.
"I ONLY GO WEST BEFORE TO SEE OTHERS. MORE ANIMAL GIANTS EAST. NOT MY TYPE, LITTLE ONE."
Her nose wrinkles and squishes in disgust.

laakh stands tall and booms out in Kaz's volume:
"YES BIG SISTER I WILL CALL OUT TO STRANGERS! ANIMAL GIANTS HAVE WEAKNESS? WHAT YOU CALL THIS (POINTING TO MULTI-PSUEDOPOD) AND HOW COOK THEM? YOU STAY SAFE AND PRETTY AND WE COME BACK WITH FUN STORIES OF BATTLE!"

Hurk would know that they are as hard to psionically attack as these giants... perhaps more so since they are psionically active. Mainly Clairsentient and Telepathic abilities focusing on attack, defense and detection. Unlike usual psions? They have been known to be able to defend against mental probing *and* continue to stab and bite.
***
"WEAKNESS? THEY SNEAKY. NOT FIGHT EYE-TO-EYE."
Kaz grins. She picks up Laahk by the scruff of his neck, much like a human picking up a cat and plants a sloppy smooch on the top of his head.
"MAYBE IF YOU WERE TALLER. GO."
Placing the mentalist on the ground she walks away snickering.
