Unless someone is vehemently against this plan, HurK will go down to the Gambit, explain the plan to the crew and then begin meditating [10pm - 5am; Rejuvenation 17, rolled 6 = Success; -4 PsP's] spell casters get shut eye now. At which time he will turn into HurK owl airlines, and fly the ship to Bodack listening to Cam and Laakh for directions and spotting. Being careful and vigilant, arrive at 5:30am when the sky starts to lighten. Do several large circles as we get closer to the ground doing recon then land in a suggested spot by the team. Then the rest of the team gets some shut eye 6 or 7am - 2pmish.

- Kem is amazed with what is happening, the new sensation of flying, completely different to the swirling sensation of her dances back in the Arena - This is amazing... - discloses to the rest of the group whilst looking the unusual view along the border of the ship - From whereabouts are you all coming from? - She asks with the intention to know her new companions a bit better

Laakh give all his info to the grieving widow, hands her 3 SP as a token for her loss.
"We grieve for your lost. May this ease some of your recovery here."
On the boat with the crew: "Works for me but that leaves the helm empty for tonight as I help direct and spot, with breaks to Rejuvenate asI am near-empty. Who among us with enough psionic ability can power the helm, Abez?"

...On the boat with the crew: "Works for me but that leaves the helm empty for tonight as I help direct and spot, with breaks to Rejuvenate as I am near-empty. Who among us with enough psionic ability can power the helm, Abez?" [Bob, spoke to Alex, he's AFKB but asked to edit the above. He didn't know the Gambit is currently tied to the doc so we're all good] ------------------ At 5am HurK stands from his lotus position and does a few quick yoga poses he learned at the Cerebrum to stretch his muscles and ligaments. He'll secure his clothes, pack and gear to the main mast as usual. "Everyone ready?" he asks. Upon the go ahead signal from the crew he'll walk up the doc and transform into his massive 360' wingspan black bat. Silently fly into the air, carefully grab the Gambit in his massive claws and fly in the aforementioned direction that Abez gave him... [Metamorphosis 17, rolled 10 = success Power Manipulation 17, rolled 11 = success Expansion 19, rolled 19 = success AND power score -36 PsP's]

Mak will return to the Gambit and get his Pterrax settled on the top deck then find a decent spot to fall asleep in. He'll offer the catnap to any spellcasters or psionicists that need to recharge. "One hour and you'll wake feeling like 8 past."
((Mak will cast Nap on himself and anyone else who wishes to benefit from it. Lv 2 spell, can effect multiple targets.))
After waking he'll stay on the deck to watch for threats as the ship gets flown through the air. Unlike the others, Mak seems perfectly at peace flying. He will climb over the side railing and hold on with a single hand to enjoy the air rushing past him.

This is easily done...
...and you are reminded of one other fact. Khuv is able to pilot the helm. He's been strangely reticent to do so however.
"I mean, I'll do it. But it seems odd, you know? Not sure I want to be giving up life's essence to tap in any other powers, I mean we all saw the comatose girl who was tapped in all the time, right? Son'ja was her name?" He shudders a bit but sets up to rest downstairs and not in the crow's nest for once.
All in it takes around a half hour to do the transfer. I'll place you within sight of the ruins. Broken ivory towers and sprawling ruins can be seen on a plateau that rises above the silt, er, river for the lack of a better term. A large matching plateau is seen to the left (west) and there appears to be another plateau dead ahead... like small isles in this mini-estuary. You know from Shardivan's directions that the Bodach side is in fact not completely surrounded by the grainy stuff and that landbound travel to the east leads to the small range of tall mounts that run north of Samarah.
As the light of day is seen rising over those same peaks, it looks like flocks of wild erdlu can be seen from above, as well as the occasional kank. There are grasses and cactus patches about as the animals seem to be heading towards the ruins proper. Hurk will see as he scouts that large cracks separate ancient city blocks from what looks like a once large explosion of force. A blackened crater to the eastern side of the city, perhaps the size of a few soccer fields is where the damage radiates. Most of the semi intact towers are further from this damage.
The marble ruins themselves stretch for a span larger than Balic, perhaps by one and a half times. Maybe once larger than that before whatever cursed fate struck this apparently once mighty city. Many of the buildings are toppled, at least close to the crater. Two walls, now ruins and able to be walked past in places easily ring the broken stone. Brambleweed grows rampant along the inner and outer edges of the more intact wall structure.
As it starts quiet, it gets louder as the animals make what seems to be a daily pilgrimage to the ruins. Game trails leading to the central ruins are obvious. Water holds still in basins and broken fountains here and there. Scruffy plants also dot the broken streets. Oddly only to the edges of the buildings and never near the doorways.
[DM note: One of the guests in the village will have talked to the elves on the ship and has been added to the crew seeking solace from the ravager attack. No details as of yet until a PC is completed.]

Magic Nap has restored 96 PSPS, maxed to 115. Noticing the elves have taken on a new crew from the flattened village, Laakh comports himself and takes in the vistas before him. He starts a new dossier in his head on this new one, blank page for now.
The Bodach ruins are spoken of in hushed voices, a reminder of ancient hubris and lurking fiends. The dead are here. He just cannot sense them.
With Khuv at the helm he carefully climbs up to the crows nest. Adjusts his silt goggles against the glare, settles in, and watches.

"The animals are speaking to us. This ruin isn't safe for the living during the evening. It's hard to say how far out is safe from the undead and where we could remain subject to scrying."

- What are you really looking for in this lost place? - Kem asks curiously to the others

The giant bat searches (sonar chirps) the cities "borders" and looks for a suitable landing spot just within the outer edge of that border but also as far from the crater as possible.

[Beautiful, ty!]
During the circling of the city, HurK will glide slowly near the two orange towers and over the crater in order to determine:
• Do the towers look in good repair or like they're crumbling to time and weather erosion? • Do either tower look like it could support the weight of the Gambit if set carefully on top? • looking down into and around the crater do we see any corpses, skeletal remains or anything else out of the ordinary within or on the blast rim? • any corpses or skeletal remains of wild game creatures in the peach city zone?
