Mak will try to eyeball where the herds and animals bed down for the night, trying to get an idea of what a safe distance looks like. He'll also look for defensible locations on the outskirts of town should we need to encamp within the ruin to get it's protection from scrying.
"Can we ask Shardivan just how close we have to get to this ruin? It's a cursed place and I don't like the idea of being forced to fight off it's residents all night long."

The towers stand, four main ones in a rough square within the city. (I'll mark the map. The square at a tilt is one.) You wouldn't want to rest the ship up there, they are thin and a good wind would drop the poor ship to it's doom.
As far as style? The towers are NOT stereotypical crenellated castle towers, but thin, high fantasy-styled constructs. Raised most likely by magic or psionics and not by hand. If you had to guess? They are over 200' tall each. White marble with thin seams.
There are no corpses or skeletal remains about. The whole area has a post-apocalyptic feel to it, overgrown but somehow left alone even though there's visible water and graze to be had.

Minklink to Hurkbat: What's the distance of open ground facing inland to detect any visitors? Any other places that would provide cover for the boat? Ideal resting spot would provide sightlines to silt and inland sides.

As far as herds bedding? There are "deer bed-like" rounds in the grass from the giant birds perhaps a quarter mile out from the walls. The kank are harder to pin down. Their hives can often be under earth slightly. There's evidence at about a similar distance though (a tad more to the north).

HurK softly sets down the Gambit and crew just north east of the north east large orange tower. He'll land a fair bit away and drop his expansion and revert to his 36' tall B'rogh form and walk back to the ship.
He'll survey the area as he walks back for anything out of the ordinary.

As HurK get's back he'll exhaustedly say to Mak "I'll take that Nap spell now if it's all the same..." then tiredly slumps to the floor, drops his metamorphosis power and leans against the Gambit's hull. [-71 PsP's]

As you set the ship down on land within the city's broken walls, you hear a crash behind you. Turning you see a desiccated corpse of a woman recovering from a "super hero pose landing", wearing a large rotten, yet billowing dress of a style you've never seen before. The others simply see her *pop* into existence from the deck of the Gambit. She, it? Brandishes an archaic looking metal gladius and calls out, "Monster. Storing a craft within city walls is against the Law... as is not passing the gates proper."She, it? Shakes her head. "Remove it or perish."Now might be a good time to get to know that new elf that has been tagging along on the ship... as this cannot end well.

The massive bat's eyebrows raise high is surprise. HurK immediately drops his expansion and shifts into his B'rohg form before humbly bowing. "My sincere apologies Ma'am. I did not mean to disrespect your cities laws nor do I know where your gates are. May we purchase a permit to land here for a bit while I rest?" [-74 PsP's]

- Kementiri doesn't move, as it's the first time she sees an undead with kind of manners, although without been sure if this was a warning or threatening. In any case, the manners of Big HurK are interesting, and in this case, very welcomed - We found that the beauty and safety of the city were more appealing than remaining outside, but we are not looking for any trouble. Our sincere apologies about this incident. Could you please tell us if after passing the gates proper we might get a document, token or seal as proof in case we are stop by any of the city guards or denizens? - Kem reinforces Hurk's talk to appease the undead entity in front of them, looking for a sort of permit that might allow them to visit the city without been attacked by their denizens
[OOC: I don't know her level of hostility]

After recovering from the intrusion, Laakh clasps his hands together at rest with a slow head bow while keeping sightlines with the others onboard. He waits for any replies to Hurk and Kem's greetings. If the elven crew looks combative he will wave them down. To the elf newcomer, an expressive shrug with Mindlink: <What's your role in the team?>
Then giving this gatekeeper his full attention and as much of a serene authoritative look as one can expect when confronted by such a blood curdling sight.

Mak moves to the front of the group, bows and sweeps his hands in flat motions from his chest outward to the sides.
"At once LawKeeper. There was no malign intent, only a lack of knowledge of your city's laws. As my associates move the ship out of the city proper, would you indulge my curiosity of your city's laws so that I may ensure my associates behave correctly while we visit your grand city?"
((Mak's got a +3 Reaction Adjustment and is using Ritual Knowledge in the hopes that the Meorty will either be familiar with it or it will be close enough to resemble the original Green Age courtesies.))
