Mak nods to Kem.
"The art of conversation is something I have found in every society and people under this crimson sun. I am only experienced in speaking with my own people and ancient undead from a time when the sun burned yellow in the sky. They have many similarities with my own people. I am sure that you would be better versed in how to properly speak to those who you share commonalities with."
"As for hunting, you are welcome to join us. If you are not experienced in hunting, watch the Kreen or myself and try not to spook our prey before we get a chance to kill it."

- I will, thank you for your wise words. I'm trying to learn the language of commerce as I'm versed in the one spoken in the Arena - Smiling back to Mak

The ship is moved.
Spells are cast.
Mak finds a mentally young Kel this morning as he and Kri-kcht head out.
<"We hunt with a kreen? I used to watch their kind from a far with my father. When they came from the north and settled west of our forests and swamps.">
After a bit of time studying the ground, the paths and the general lay of the land you discover that this area has a variety of small grassy plants, hidden bits of dasl herb, pale thin jagged oleracea leaf (edible, if a bit bland) and hairy stemmed leaves that betray the solanu root (similar to a potato).
Bugs, especially flying ones are plentiful. The biting ones? Well, they were all the biting ones.
You find spoor and continue the hunt and manage to take down a pair of erdlu near an actual muddy patch of earth. A shame this place was so dangerous to live.
Kel reminisces. <"While I never made it to Bodach, I heard of it surrounded by water and forest, not as dense as our home, but old forest with kind, playful spirits. The city itself was a center for the savage gods of order. There were conflicts between the city and the earth. What I see here does not fit that any more. The land and city here are defeated, but memories of former glory.">

Laakh updates Abez and crew and will help Kleys with the water provisioning. He asks for the return the Skull of Kripnar, and agrees that if should be used by anyone who needs it. He will coordinate standard watch with Yiska and others on board, and take time to Rejuvenate under shelter from the sun. On watch, he will do All Round Vision every 10 minutes or so while attempting Heat Protection as needed.

After his Nap, Kleys will return the Skull and then take a short walk around (staying close by the Gambit- outside the walls), for any likely looking spell components.
(If necessary, Herbalism check of 3 / Spellcraft of 14, both vs. 17).

She will cast up to 16 HP in cures before holding off.
The area is scrub plain, with some oddities, more in how not touched by sentients the area is.
Simple components can be found herbs, etc... I'm not a sticker for spell components unless there's a monetary amount implied (like identify).
I forgot to mention that I use the spell effect table in Dragon Kings, the one that personalizes spells cast by a specific caster. Either roll or pick as needed for Kleys.
I'll post further after dinner tonight.

OoC: I was thinking more along the lines of collecting rare/valuable components (or other herbs) for later sale.

Mak returns with the other hunters. Aside from 2 erdlu, his arms are filled with dasl herb, oleracea leaves and solanu from his foraging. Mak gets to work setting up skewer sticks to slowly cook the meat and vegetables seasoned with dasl herb. He sets aside 2 of the erdlu legs for Hurk, seeing as he's got a larger than life appetite by comparison to the rest. Not a gourmet chef by any means but a passable meal that doesn't deplete the stores of the Gambit, enough to feed those gathered here for a full day.
Mak then walks over to his Pterrax and pumps a Cure Serious Wounds and 2 Cure Light wounds spells onto the beast. ((10, 6, 6 brings the Pterrax back up to max health))
Once the work is done, Mak will sit next to the fire and meditate on the natural world that surrounds him. His thoughts drift to the world that once was and he imagines the friendly spirits that once resided in this place, outside of the walls of this City of Law.

"Much appreciated!" says the Psion as he devours the lovely drumsticks

Dasl is most likely taken by Kri-kcht as well. He is well aware of it's secret uses by his kind.
There are some rarer plants about. Kleys takes what he can to dry on the odd, landlocked boat's deck.
Abez has relaxed some. He does order a cask of something strong to be breached. What use were spirits if the other spirits held their fate in their skeletal hands? Best drink now.
The elven brother and sister sing. Tales of the past, probably exaggerated, possibly with little truths woven in at points, but after time... it all begins to lose it's luster and definition, right?
There is a point to be made that anyone using an empowered item (like the joz'hal's skull) needs to have contact. Non-psions may be trained at no proficiency cost (if you have a weeks time to do so) much like fighters teaching proficiency when they have specialization. Just tell me who wishes to learn and we'll look at stats and give a specific time frame and roll some dice.
By mid afternoon? The elves have started singing the songs of the giants of Ledo Isle. Violence, bloodshed and a hatred for the dwarves. It suits the charred meats and general drunkenness.
Night falls and both moons shine brightly. Not perhaps completely full, but full enough. Sounds of gentle chaos come from the other side of the broken walls. It ebbs and flows. Drusso the other elf, shimmies up the wall and sits cross-legged looking into the dead; not dead city.
Welcome to Bodach?

Mak needs a good night sleep. He's spent more magic today than he usually does in an entire week.
"Tell me about Bodach at night when I'm awake again in the morning. Someone get me up just before sunrise, please."

Laakh accepts his dinner with gusto.
"Yah, Kleys. If morning finds us alive, sit with me before breakfast for meditation. After a week or so, it can be done."
After a couple drinks of the good stuff he pantomimes highlights of their adventures to the newcomers, misusing his disguise proficiency for comic effect: hunching while spouting ludicrous threats like a psurlon. He'll take 2nd watch with a skin of their new Improved Water, listening to the night's strange sounds and cleaning grit from his crossbow.
