Hurk-eagle angles his flight N.W. counter clockwise around the crater as discussed earlier at a minimally turbulent altitude.
<Yes Elder. We're currently flying the southern edge of this massive crater just north of the glowing sands. Quite a sight to behold from the air...>

<"The Shambling Ones graves, then.">
There's a pause.
<"I have heard word on the fronts, relayed to me of course, that the Shadow-King's son has been missing from both Nibenay and their army. If he is not being held back in reserve? I fear he still may hunt you.">
The view is breathtaking as you climb. The gorge below spans easily over 50 miles in length. The mists have started to clear below, but the height keeps you from much detail... outside of the fact the bottom is all manners of vegetative greens and browns. The ground towards the middle is a morass, perhaps even swampy. If you'd ever been to the mudflats of Draj, it would be slightly reminiscent of that - minus the more planned agriculture. This is simply wild.

<"The Shambling Ones graves, then."> < Shambling ones? Anything of note we should steer clear of down in the vegetation? Or those that stalk above it?> There's a pause. <"I have heard word on the fronts, relayed to me of course, that the Shadow-King's son has been missing from both Nibenay and their army. If he is not being held back in reserve? I fear he still may hunt you."> a pause of his own < He will have to wait his turn then Elder. We now have a pair of assassins following us, hired by Tsalaxa's Nisid of Draj. Any guidance you can give us on fighting Dhojakt? Tactics? Weaknesses? Strengths? What his staff is capable of?>

<"The Shambling Ones are but a memory. I do not believe that any survived the Cleansing Wars. Every once in a rare while you'll see evidence of their existence, carvings, dwellings or the rare warning etched upon ancient rock. Their resting place is where they were obliterated from the face of Athas by fires and dread magics. Who really knows what lurks in the shadows of their former lairs?">
<"As for Dhojakt? Any stave of his, if not a potent artifact of ages past, would have been crafted by the Shadow-King's warlocks or by Dhojakt himself. Nibenay's son wields both the dark arts and his father's equally dark blessing... as well as powers gifted by the Alabaster Tower itself. I cannot be exactly sure of his strength as he rarely takes the field openly. But no one he's hunted has ever been said to have escaped...">
<"So you might be a matter of wounded pride. Walk softly and be aware of his probable hunt.">

<"There is an issue with locating Dote Mal and Company. Apparently, no one has a mental "bead" on him. Tyr is currently pretty much off-limits...">
Sigh.
<"Three armies square off outside the Iron City. Oddly, no blows have come... yet. Anything we might have had to use to zero in on Kalak's ex-lieutenant warlock is unavailable as of the moment. There is some good news. You are most likely to be left alone by the others in the Order for the present. The Tablelands currently hold all the interest as we speak.">

<"There is an issue with locating Dote Mal and Company. Apparently, no one has a mental "bead" on him. Tyr is currently pretty much off-limits..."> < Our new Kreen member has a possible location of him in some "buried city" with "odd underground stone passageways, large bronze doors and deadly gigantic creeper vines" North East of our current position. Apparently Dote Mal obtained whatever fell from the sky several weeks ago from it's crater. He then used some domination magic on the Town: Spoil's leader, Densis, to guide him to this underground city. This city sound familiar to you Elder?> Sigh. <"Three armies square off outside the Iron City. Oddly, no blows have come... yet. Laakh adjusts and tunes to find Khuv in Mindlink:

Reaching through to Khuv is tougher than normal.
<"Stack, stack, dust, dust... Oh hey, Laahk. All is fine. The Lawkeepers are treating us well. How are you doing?">
***
From Shardivan:
<"A buried city? There are many ruins in the north... mostly of the dead races. The taint of dark magics still linger in those places. I have avoided them as they often have unliving creatures that aren't easily smashed or mentally combated... some still harbor old grudges towards my folk, as we were enemies even before the great wars. These aren't places for meditation, you know.">

Going to hold until Laahk has a chance to communicate. You can drop mindlink with Shardivan after if warranted.

[from the group] To Khuv: <Good to hear. What of the others, all well too? Have you discovered any details about the city or anything about the curse that afflicts the city and causes the dead to war against each other every night?>

<"Collectively we are well. We have been tasked with organizing and maintaining the library. Protect the past so Bodach may rise once more. Remove the dust. Squish the worms. Smell for rot. Check the bindings. The Lawkeepers keep us busy. We must stay focused. Living hands are rare here, they say.">

[from the group] Have Yiska send a personal message to Haske, through Laakh/Khuv. Something ONLY THEY know about to see if she gets a normal response or something 'off'?

"Ask if Druuso is working. That lazy arse barely does anything 'cept get drunk." She mentally shouts, unaccustomed to the mental correspondence. It is very loud as you fly.
You ask this.
<"Druuso works with us as well... as hard as Haske and me. There is no reason for non-compliance.">
