Laahk easily ports beyond the room's perimeter, leaving the rest of you standing outside the threshold of the oddly trapped floor.
This covers the entire floor/level so far...
Barring hidden secrets and the like. Things that might bear repeating?
- The upside down rose quartz tile in the other empty room has not been tampered with.
- This room could be stepped into or investigated further.
- Life was detected on the above floor; just not looked at.
- You still have items that were recovered from hidden nooks and crannies to pick apart.

Mak looks to the others. "My magic is pretty depleted. How about I drop a nap spell on us and we take a short rest and come back at this? Or maybe find whatever thing is alive on the floor above us first? Thoughts?"

"Lead the way little man..." Attilius says as he beckons upward with his gouge to find the living creature

Mak nods and directs the party to the next level up and points where he previously detected life. He'll stay behind Attilus and Kem, letting the larger people investigate while he readies to support them. He'll focus on his detect magic to see if any auras give him clues or insights (which he will promptly share with the rest of the party).
"Okay, I should have enough magic to deal with at least one or two more wizard tricks. Then we rest."

So I ported across. What do I see? Am I in another place? To the others:
"Psst -I like Naps! An' a minute to look here, yeah?"
He will shut off levitating.
"We gotta clear all this section..." Holding light up and pointing further into whatever's in front of him.
Port back to them if he loses line of sight or they don't reply.

You 'ported to the main room - which was right behind you.
Unless you meant you wanted to teleport into the trapped room further. I'll need a bit of clarification on Laahk.
Assuming you choose the first and not the latter, we can fast forward to the room with the living creature. I will need to update the maps as well and then give you the description. All detection spells can still be valid as it isn't too far. I'll take care of that tomorrow morning (Sunday) as we were pretty busy in RL today.

Ok. Got clarification.
Laahk does end up in the main hall behind him.
You do venture back to the area life was detected.
Maps and deets to follow.

You progress (regress?) back to the first floor down from the roof. Beyond the acid spider/phantom battle room and to the right, following the curve of the ancient, stone tower. You end up standing before a warped wooden door... darksunsouthtablelands.obsidianportal.com/maps/128610That registers no traps. So you crack it. You glimpse a broken and decaying triangular room with heavily corroded weaponry upon the walls. Suddenly you feel your stomach heaving as you smell a repulsive, malodorous odor, and you swear you see something move inside the room.

Fighting all kinds of unsavory smelling foes in his past, the half giant quickly turns his head away from the stench and draws in a fast deep breath of fresh air. He then steps in and moves to the side so that he doesn't block the door and attempts to I.D. the movement.

Your light reveals a bit more detail as you ponder.
Pale yellowish powder covers the floors and weaponry. A thicker patch of it shimmers (or is it moving?) towards the left of the door frame. It slows once your light fully reveals the room.

Mak will cast a divination on the patch of mold that appears to be moving within the room. ((Also, any chance Mak's nature lore would give him any insights as to what this creature is?))
((Analyze Opponent, 1st Lv, Priest Spell Compendium, 80 yard range, save vs spell or Mak learns 4 different strengths/weaknesses of the target.))

Mold, yes. Since it's not common aboveground on Athas? You know little except that it seems to thrive here in the dark.
The divination reveals light & fire as weaknesses and poisonous spores & needing little sunlight as strengths.

- Kem holds her sticks in defensive position whilst looking at the creature. No steps further inside the room

Mak says "Close the door after I toss this in." and then he takes out his continual light stone and tosses it into the room.
"In a few hours we'll check on this room again."
