The giantess turns to the new elf "No, no need. Kem just wanted to know about the water below South Ledo."

Along the way to the buried ruins, Dote encountered a crater with a chunk of raw star ore. This was scavenged and held in his wagon. His intent was to try and use this rare material to further future rituals or relics. He never got that far. The giantess slaps her knee while exclaiming "THAT SUM 'BITCH! HA! Good things come to those that wait I guess! Let's seeeee what's we got 'ere..." HurK stares intently at the star stone... [See magic, rolled 8 = success Any arcane magic upon it Bob?]

Also, Detect Magic - same deal, rolled 7/70% to determine school of any present magic).

No magic is detected on the strange metallic ore from the Heavens. But it seems to have promise in its rarity and possible strength. Coden is interested in this metal, he's heard of sky metal being used to fashion blades before, but they generally are said to lay within the vaults of the Kings and Queens themselves... or the most decadent nobility. He seems to wish to avoid the water drake and South Ledopolus. A wise man, Coden. If he needed water and fuel, he could obtain it.
***
Speak with Dead is attempted (and fails):
Densis' spirit is not as happy to talk as Dote Mal was. "Piss off. The Grey is calm; my unwelcome master languishes here as I. And that's fine with me."
***
Shardivan remains mentally speechless as he thinks on all that Hurk has rattled off. Finally he responds. <"I've heard the most powerful consider the world itself a Game. If this is true, ours was a stalemate until recently. With Kalak's death, a player was removed... this has not happened in a long time. This Nin-gauble? He concerns me. Do not trust gifts from strangers... and ask yourself this also when dealing with the unliving. What do they have to gain with your obedience? What seems innocent now can lead to regret later - these things have lived well beyond their time and have had plenty of time to consider their own goals. Most have hoarded well beyond their keep and at the very least are greedier than most mortals. I also worry that Kalak's body being given up for bits to an unknown entity might not be in everyone's best interests. Why?
Concerning Bodach? Most ancient cities used constructs to house minds of criminals, nobles or powerful psions to power machines of a sort after physical death. To transfer back and forth to a living being? That is new knowledge to me. The psurlon might know something we don't? They are dreadfully intent on gathering such things...
The white ruins seem like something that needs to be guarded, buried or left alone.
Mak Thuum Ngatha? Where have I heard that name before?">
***
Laahk also has additional correspondence. Maris states, <"I try to stay clear of the templarate patricians. But if you want a beast handler from the Arena to talk to? Give me a few days and I can try to set up a meeting in the city.">
And Falmon, <"The elves know how to get dream spider silk... but it is rarely sold. Even with my status? It would be pulling tembo teeth to procure."> OOC: It has been said before that Shardivan knows where to get said stuff, but you'd need to get it yourself.
<"As far as the descriptions you gave? I know these folk. They are wanted in Balic for the poisoning of a few nobles with trade interests that conflict with theirs. Bring me their heads or better yet? Alive and you will be richly rewarded. Consider this a worthy task to embark upon. I must go now, there is business for me to attend to.">

Over cold mugs of broy with Abez, Yiska, and Haske, Laakh mentions the bounty offered by House Wavir, and brings up the need for dream spider silk.
"Look for that elf sell-sword I mentioned. is it true your folk know where to sniff out our cloaking material?"
In a gesture of solidarity, he takes Yiska's and Abez's hands, palming them each a bag of 15 SP.
To the Sky Singer:
"Funds for your next adventures, or use it for a signing bonus for this guy. Name is wierd. 'Neechy' or something."
To the captain:
"Provisions. crew pay, some for yourself."

I will be weary of gifts from strangers and keep an ear out for this Nin-gauble.
As to Mak Thuum Ngatha, I only know it is "The false patron of the psurlon" from the teams research and magiks.
We've also found that sky metal I asked you about so many moons ago. Seems Dote found the crater by luck and picked it up for his own future spell craft. What psionic metal-smith do you use or recommend to turn it into a psi-scimitar?">

"Indeed, let us travel to Altaruk."
Mak will place a Magical lock on the door of Dote's Wagon, only allowing any of Mak's companions to pass, then he'll open a Portal to the area of the new well dug outside of Altaruk's walls. He'll make sure the place isn't full of soldiers this time before he steps through.

<"As to Mak Thuum Ngatha, I only know it is "The false patron of the psurlon" from the team's research and magicks."> Transferred Hurk mentally. Shardivan responds, <"That's not what I meant. I mean, I have either read or heard that name in context to something else - perhaps years ago. Maybe it will come back to me..."> <"As for star-metal? It is much more the providence of wizards and smiths to deal with the stuff. These weapons you carry are but a crutch. I only keep mine in order to damage those with hefty mental or unusually strong defenses."> *** Laahk is met with a tad more resistance than he expected. Khuv speaks up. "Pretty sure we could all use a stronger cut of the spoils after the last few weeks." The elves nod. Yiska's leg (and clothing) still bear the marks of the acid spiders. Druuso adds, "Anything else we can sell while we look for this friend of yours?" ---Just tell me when you want to switch PCs. -Bob *** Altaruk is easy. You arrive to find it busier than the first visit, with heavier patrols of Balicians about... both mounted outside the walls and manning the walls. It seems that work has slowly re-begun with clearing the shore of debris and stone, what Hurk started what seems like aeons ago. The paper source remains much the same within the walls, and Andras will meet with you next door for drinks and food after his day's work is done. Uvall, the dwur barkeep, nods as he wipes a ceramic mug. There are a few other more militant types about the wineshop, but a few locals as well. A few of the women at the bar proper look familiar. Andras arrives as planned and states, "What have we a need for today, my friends?" darksunsouthtablelands.obsidianportal.com/characters/andras

I believe Mak here requires a book for journal entries. I am Akleys Ral-Runner - you may call me Kleys - and I'm looking for some friends of mine, though we've never met before." (Kleys rubs his face as if tired, passing his hand across his mouth and chin as if mimicking a veil.)

Mak is content to just let the half-elf talk for them both. Once business is complete he'll make for the area where the refugees camp.

Laakh quickly pivots to appease the elves without making tableside drama.
He keeps his voice low and his lips concealed with his tankard, pantomiming a hearty chug:
"Apologies. Let's get back to Coden's place, settle up right, in private"
He puts down the drink. To Yiska:
"I'll ask around for a Metabolic healer to restore your leg back to normal, on my coin. Likewise new wardrobe and gear for each of you for the next city. You all went through a lot, and we will honor that. Another round?'
He signals for more drinks, and as their server is close, he palms her 9cp and asks if anyone has been looking for him or his companions.
Information Gathering -3 penalty for non-native city:
Rolled 3.
"Consider it an advance if you might hear anything later."
