- "Sorry, sometimes I feel joyful when I see or hear about anyone using new skills or abilities" - makes a pause - "I think I'm like a child when it comes to new discoveries plus you said you are coming from a different place and all add up, but the intention is not to scare you but to learn from you. Sorry about it." - tells to Xyn'nia, trying to calm them down with a normal tone of voice

It produces an odd shuffling sound as it pulls its legs up beneath it and curls in on itself, protecting its head with its arms. It manages to look rather pathetic, though the nearby Templars do not seem to have much patience for this.
Someone whispers in Hwasa's ear. "If you suspect this one is a lying cur, we can have it dragged back to Nibenay in chains. All will be laid bare before his ultimate power."

- Looking to whoever talked to her in a normal but nice tone of voice - "Oh, I don't think it would be necessary, as a diplomat from far away he is, I'm really sure he would be more than happy to have a meeting with Nibenay himself when we're back. "
Hwasa then turns to Xyn'nia - "I believe my husband will be more than happy to have an audience with someone coming from that far away, plus don't forget the raise of your own prestige from meeting with Gallard himself!" - Hwasa says in a happy, but not childish, tone to make Xyn'nia feel comfortable

(Just after dark. Probably late evening. The person who whispered to you was a low-level Templar, around your own rank and perhaps a bit lower.)
Despite its heavy robes, Xyn'iia's head can still be seen cocking to one side under the shag carpet it's wearing. "Your husband? Strange terminology for the south."

The night passes without incident. The Templars, at first suspecting trouble, attempt to organize a watch, but after having been kept up all the previous night, eventually fold and take their share of sweet, restful sleep.
Whatever strange creature Xyn'iia is, it apparently sleeps just as the others do, as it curls up in a corner and seems to pass out there. It does not snore, and it resembles a heap of rags more than anything else as it slumbers.
When the sun finally rises, the bones of the undead remain mostly still, and the Templars seem suspicious of the group.
"Something has changed."
"What did you do in there yesterday?"
"Nibenay must have known something was up with you lot."

((They're wondering what you did to stop the undead keeping them up all night.))

Bharnag will test it and step outside.
"Irikos!"

At first, it would seem that the call goes unanswered. The morning sun beats down on a lifeless ruin, the fortune in steel weapons and armor unusable due to their curse.
However, a careful observer soon spots Irikos. Much weaker in the daylight, the only sign of his presence at all is the sun filtering through his incorporeal form--nothing more than a shifting shape, guttering like a candle in the wind as if it might disappear entirely in a few moments at the whim of a breeze.

Bharnag walks toward the specter. "Your power here is indeed great Warlord. You have my thanks for the restful night. Now, let's get that artifact unearthed."
Bharnag will get the others as well as any Templar willing to join an excavation detail.

As a matter of fact, only a few Templars remain behind. A few of the higher-ranking ones contact Nibenay, but the lower-level ones do not have this ability and some have no magic at all. There are a good deal of suspicions, but most of the Templars see this as their best hope of getting what they came for and decide to come along.

Bharnag will lead them to the crater and resume the excavation.
"I'm curious as to what Nibenay has to say. Several of the wives spoke with him this morning. What word from our Sorcerer Monarch?"

- Hwasa gets close to Irikos, in a friendly manner, no tricks or hidden agenda in her speech - "Many thanks for the calm night we had, you are indeed a mighty commander of your legion" - and keeping this friendly and correct tone - "I would love to talk to you when you have a moment, as I'm intrigued but there is no harm in my actions or words, believe me".

Zeekir waits for the envoy to rise, while stretching his legs and hands.
"Good day! After a restful night, do you have any more thoughts on engaging with our king? Considering all roads, there are any number of mutually beneficial partnerships! What branches of sorcery do your kind practice?"

The Templars speak of Nibenay's communique only in hushed tones, being careful to ensure that it is not overheard by either Irikos or the traveler.
According to what Bharnag gets from the Templars, Nibenay is a bit swamped with work running the City-State, as unlike other Sorcerer-Kings, namely Hamanu of Urik, he is accustomed to allowing the Templars to run the bureaucracy, but with the aid of magical clones of himself, he's managing.
He is allegedly surprised that the group has made this much progress this fast--Nibenay knew damn well just who and what was haunting these ruins, and did not expect them to be easily overcome.
Nibenay has also, apparently, already taken the liberty of Psionically canvassing Xyn'iia's mind after being told of the creature, allegedly finding its knowledge fascinating, but he has not volunteered any of the information he gleaned.
Irikos is not quite sure what to make of Hwasa, and his expression is equally inscrutable in return, at least while he is nearly incorporeal.
"I have much more than a moment. There is nothing I can do to assist you with the excavation. I have my suspicions about all this, but I find myself with very little to lose."
Xyn'iia, whatever it is, greets Zeekir relatively warmly. "Oh, I imagine there are examples of just about every type. There are the practitioners of the arcane, who attend a special school, and there are the practitioners of the elements, who channel primordial might from their distant masters. Some of them are Clerics, and others are like the many women of your entourage. I admit I fear this Nibenay somewhat, as the lords of this region are known for their terrible might. However, I must thank you for tolerating my company so far."
Xyn'iia's stomach growls loudly.
"Forgive me, my meat rations ran out some time ago."
