The rope kicks up a plume of dust, which settles after a few moments. The floor is still a floor.

Chat'cho casts her gaze around idly, scrutinizing the walls, floor, and ceiling. She makes sure to keep tossing the rope ahead of her while the others discuss the magic gear. It stands to reason, Chat'cho surmises, that if there was a secret door in the previous room, this hallway is a decoy, or a trap, meant to lure looters away from the true pathway into the vault's heart. But, if that is the case, why isn't she seeing any traps? Peculiar.

Stepping into the hall, Chat can see it go past her light source at least 70-75 feet... in the shadows she's pretty sure she can make out two doors in the distance, one to the left and one at the very end of the grand hall. Pic in chat.

To advance, assume our Chronicler shared her findings. Niachi rubs his eyes vigorously for several beats. The scent of the ancient metal spear tip seems to permeate the room. When he open his eyes, they are pulsing a deep indigo blue that tints his features a deathly pallor. He focuses his vision on the gem to get the general strength and exact type of magic it holds, then same with each item discovered. He will use an arrow tip to prod the remains, hoping to uncover anything missed.

Attilius keeps overwatch so he has sight on the secret door and the pathway Chat'cho went in...

The shield radiates illusion/phantasm, alteration and enchantment. The spear radiates enchantment and alteration.
'Muiko is seen as a moderate level caster. The templar and tari are seen as those that can cast blessings of moderate level as well.
Chat gets within twenty feet (four squares from the doors) and a pair of tiny dust devils appear. While not physically harmful, the dust is kicked up all about the room and the air.
If kreen could sneeze, she'd do so, but instead she's coated in a fine layer of dust.

Chat'cho cocks her head to one side. "Really? That's all? I ex*ected a lot worse." She waves at the Dust Devils.
She'll try scooting on past them to try the doors. Maybe this won't be so bad after all.

Niachi shares what he sees, then muses to Quila and others close:
"The shield: I'd expect Enchant and Alteration. The Phantasm-Illusion dweomer is interesting! To further our findings and maybe detect any foulness in these things, can anyone detect curses and such?"
He will step towards the open door to the dusty hallway and scan how the dust devils and the hall react to Chat'cho's entry.

[Elven "Certainly, they're useful to know these. We'll share them back in Kurn"] 'Muiko says to Niachi while handing the scrolls to Yvera so she can stash them properly in the portfolio.
'Muiko will examine the heraldry of the shield with intensity, deciding hesitantly to sketch it later. He will pay close attention to the divinations and the information they reveal.
[Elven "Sadly, I cannot, though I am familiar with illusions that induce fright. I'm confident that it isn't a curse"]

"I'd say it's a dweomer on the shield aside from a magical protection that has to do with that horned death's head with the worms out of it's maw. I think if you activate it it will somehow turn even more grisly and strike fear into those opposing the shield-bearer." Quila adds to the conversation.
To Niachi she adds, "Do you mean detecting for evil? I know I could detect for a curse on one item but after that intense scrutiny I can no longer channel any of the powers of my liege for several hours making me less useful down here for the group."
Looking up from the huddled conversation of us three she notes Chat'cho has left the building. "Where did our druid wander off to?" Quila muses.

Chat'cho is, meanwhile, trying to push open the left door, apparently driven by curiosity more than anything else. She trusts her trained danger sense to keep her safe if the worst happens.

Coden says, "While I am skilled with spear and shield, I'm leery of switching to these until we understand them better. Let's stash them away for now and continue exploring."

Chat sees the corridor go for 10 feet beyond the doorway before a short 10 foot set of stone stairs that lead down to a continued stretch of corridor. After those stairs, it first opens to the left, then the right and even continues on into the dark, curving to the left. [pic in chat]
She is still coated in the dust, it seems to stick.

Chat'cho shuts this door, then opens the other one and looks down that way.

This room opens up mainly to your left, but with four rows of sandstone benches directly in front of you. Beyond that, darkly stained wooden poles are affixed floor-to-ceiling forming a smaller room within a room. It is then that you smell the odor of decayed earth and dead flesh before your compound eyes fully register the ghastly contents of this smaller room within a room - a torture & execution chamber. Spiked instruments and diabolical machines stand in readiness behind the bars.
The barred room's door is open.
The benches are obviously made for an audience.
Three doors are within the barred room on the east wall.
A single door shares the wall further down on this side of the bars - it likely leads to the hallway you just peeked at before.
