Then the medallion wearer turns from the hideous creature and exits the room, walking out into the beginnings of sunrise facing east. The terrain about the wagon, crewed by a pair of mekillots and a waking human (and demihuman, no other worm-people) crew. To the north, mountains that look to be those north of Kurn. The area the argosy camps is wedged between some rock formations, making the terrain to the west and south impossible to make out. You can guess that this is one of Kurn's hidden watering holes outside of the city, as the lizards are drinking from a dark source to the north end of your vision.

End scene.

"Psurlons," Coden spits. His face twists unhappily as he says the word.

"I'm not clear on their goals, but the motivation for this was unlikely to be a simple revenge or money motive as it would be with a humanoid killer. Also if the killer is working for the psurlons, or is one of them, we have to be prepared for their use of psionic deceptions every step of the way."

Niachi, just warmed up from a light jog, has to force himself to rest at Miuko's place. He checks his Xerichou for parasites and general health, then before allowing the Nap to take effect, he asks Quila and Scrye:

"Any news of our librarian Gruv?"


He answers the half-giant and the Balican noble in equally cold monotone:

Azeth is poisoned from within. This maggoty filth will be cleansed by us , the Flame-Touched. " 


Punctuated with gestures that start fights in dark alleys, aimed at the direction of the tracked footsteps.

Intent after Nap:

Take the previous success to learn Cone of Cold after Miuko succeeded to copy it from the scroll.

"Attilius?  Umbris?  How do you feel?  Do you like these legs or do you wish to return to your old legs?"

If they indicate they'd like to return, Muiko will dispel his polymorph effect.  If they're happy as elves, it will remain, the choice is theirs.

After this brief interaction, Muiko will quickly tend to his garden before studying for the day's spells.

"So, our target is a worm with hands and some legs?"

Coden is able to fill in the others on what he knows of the dreaded psionic worm-kin. Said to not hail of this world (ironically, since that seems to be everyone who sucks lately), the psurlon have been collecting empowered items for some untold nefarious plot. The party he used to lead found a conclave of them in South Ledopolus...

Some of them change form and shape to mimic other humanoids. Like the leaders of the dwarves in the southern trade city. Wandering deep under the Ledopolus, they found and rooted out a bunch of the dastardly arseholes and found the reason why the dwarves (or dwur as the call themselves) stopped trying to dig underneath the silt estuary to the other Northern Ledopolus. A large brackish sea or lake of sorts was discovered and guarded by an ancient water drake. A druid ally told them of how she guards one of the rare portals to the Elemental Wellspring.

A matching medallion to that used by the murderer is carried by Hurk and bestows the power of levitation. The mental shade bound to the jewelry was an obese trader from Nibenay, and the powers helped him get through his day. You wonder if the other item also comes from Nibenay, the Stone City.

I need a bit more clarification posted here to how long you do rest and study. Given that you have expressed the wish to learn spells. Please add the time of the nap and a minimum of one hour for spell restudy. 2 more hours for both spell casters to learn Cone of Cold if that indeed happens.

You will be uninterrupted in rest. That being said, gimme some solid intent on this morning's initial actions. I will likely open this into a new thread after this with an accurate accounting of time of day, etc...

After this: Strategize with team on guarding palace/Oronis, Detecting shapechanged Psurlons and how we stop them, tracking the scryed caravan.

[Quila Oris (John M.)]

Quila casts a Nap, reducing the 'rest' to one hour.

During the three hours after that, when the wizards are doing their thing, Quila will do a psionic reconnaissance in phases. She knows the wiz-bois can only be interrupted if really needed, but some situations are considered 'really needed.'

Preparatory, Quila will cast a Detect Magic (lvl 1) so she can use it with scrying.

First, she will again focus on the medallion and Environment it as before. This to glean the current whereabouts of the murderer/medallion wearer.
Depending on what she finds out she will go on or act otherwise.

Second, using her eidetic memory, she will recall any details of the caravan master room that warranted her attention (aside from the psurlon), like the House Azeth flags behind the creature.
She will then use Environment there. If that is not possible, she will use Clairvoyance on the location where the caravan was resting near the watering hole.
This second phase is intended to find out: is the caravan still there, who/what are stationed there, is the psurlon still in that caravan master room, and if not, if there are any tracks visible that can be followed.
Depending on what Quila finds, she will use Clairvoyance to 'zoom out' of the ground level situation and get altitude to her point of view so she both gets an idea of the area, and to possibly get the caravan in sight again if it left.
