"Yeaaaaaaah..." HurK looks disappointed as he rubs his chin. "No star metal hunting for us Abez... We got places to be and... THINGS to kill."
Turning back to the halfling "What's your name? I'm HurK, that's Abez, our Captain. And Haske, Druuso and Yiska. Over there is Xindi and Ibek. You already met Khuv" he points up. "Risla's up there too. Coden's the one with the spear."
"What's your purpose at home? Hunter? Gatherer? Farmer?"

"What's your purpose at home? Hunter? Gatherer? Farmer?" Mak rubs his temples, "Too many names. Too fast." He places his left hand on his chest as his right hand is raised to his side as if he were holding a dish, "I am Lll.." he clears his throat, lowering his hands and holding them together at his waist and begins again, "I am called Mak. You are pleased to meet me", he states rather matter of factly. Giving some thought to the second question he replies, "My purpose... isss... I... uhmmm... I... am a gatherer. Yes, I gather.. the things", he finishes with a nod of self acknowledgement. "What is the purpose of all of you and this strange vessel? Do you hunt? Or transport goods?..." His eyes narrow as he looks around at all of the arms and weapons, "...or are you thieves?"

HurK chuckles "Well Lll'Mak, that would depend on whom you ask... To some we are Giants among giants, to others we are god Eagles. Others thieves, and a few, rescuers..."
The half giant gives the Pterrax a massage on the shoulder blades and the back of it's neck like one would do to a friendly house dog "The purpose of this vessel is the same as your boy here. It get's us from here to there." Hurk points to the deck then out to the horizon.

It is at this point that Ibek the fair haired elf screams. The greasy sausage in his hand falls as a tan tentacle grabs his arm and starts dragging him overboard. Given that the boat is still moving, he is about to be thrown off the starboard (right) side if anything is not done.
Intentions? Let him fall? Call to stop?

"Well... if we had nothing better to do... a skimmer could certainly get there faster than many other interested parties," notes Coden.

The Half Giant belts out "YYYYYEEEEEEEESSS! FINALLY!" he runs over to Ibek and put's his body in front of his, blocking his drag path with his massive body and allowing the tentacle to grab him instead if it wants to. "NO BLADED WEAPONS! DO NOT SEVERE THE TENTACLE!" He yells then quickly closes his eyes and focuses his nexus energy into himself...

(ooh, my post got ninja'd)
Coden shouts as he races to the edge of the ship, "We have to get him loose somehow! How do you propose we do that if we can't sever the tentacle?"

Not exactly sure what's going on, but following the yelled tactics from the giant one, Mak pulls his sling and fires a stone at the visible tentacle hoping to encourage it to seek a meal elsewhere.
((d10 Initiative roll: 1 [speed 6], d20 Attack roll: 14 [+1 for Halfling sling is 15, THAC0 is 16], 1d4 damage roll: 4))

Rizla jumps to action, grabbing a lashing and fashioning a quick lasso (Rope Use Proficiency: 17 needed, 16 rolled), he then attempts to lasso the elf before he can be pulled overboard (Attack roll 7+2 for Rope Use = 9)

Abez yells to cut the sail.
Rizla manages to get a lasso going, but from his position on the crow's nest? He gets no proper angle to throw... but he gets a decent view of the threat. Other brownish tan tentacles are starting to cut through the dust as the boat attempts to pass.
Hurk manages to entangle himself in between the appendage that has grasped your new deckhand...
And Mak's stone does strike true, causing it to release the elf. Ibek has a raised red welt on his arm and he begins to draw a bone dagger from his belt. The other elves, Xindi & Druuso begin to pass out shortbows while Haske cuts the sail. Yiska draws her mother's blade, wind and silt whipping her checkered scarf. She's holding on Hurk's command, but seems to be looking to defend herself from any threat.
It is apparently angered by the sting as the other whip-like tentacles begin to search for the goliath's body as the boat slows. Hurk is feeling like the only thing holding the two together... a game of tug-of-war, that he's surely to lose if the boat doesn't completely stop soon.
Khuv is beginning to slide down the mast as Abez calls out, "WHAT'S THE PLAN, HURK? DO YOU GOT THIS?"
Coden may take a held action this round or pass to the next.

Since Rizla has the rigging in hand to fashion a rope to rescue the elf, Coden focuses his Will on launching a mental attack against this creature, perhaps to stun it briefly so that the team can escape.
(But with an attack roll of 2, no luck.)

The half giant brings up his massive right foot and slams it into the Gambit's side railing with a loud thud then leans back at a 45 degree angle with a loud groan to give himself as much leverage against the pulling as possible. Things take a weird direction to the days four newcomers: the half giant is actually getting undressed?! He quickly pulls on several quick release knots on his person. His massive blade sheath falls to the ground as does his weapon bandoliers. HurK quickly pulls off his loose over clothes. While disrobing he belts out skyward "HEY MONKEY BOY: I NEED YOUR EYES ON THE SKIES UP THERE! WE NEED TO KNOW IF THOSE THREE ROCS COME BACK! WE NEED EYES ON THE CLOUDS!"HurK turns his head back to the scrambling crew "EVERYONE ELSE GRAB A RANGED WEAPON OR USE YOUR MENTAL ATTACKS WHEN YOU SEE THIS THINGS MAIN BODY. AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT HITTING ME WITH A STRAY ARROW EITHER: I'M PROTECTED!"
It is apparently angered by the sting as the other whip-like tentacles begin to search for the goliath's body as the boat slows... Hurk reaches out with his left and right arms, stretching them out to the tentacles to his right and left, allowing them to grab on to his forearms as he grabs them in his hands as well. "HERE WE GO!!!"The psiologist closes his eyes and remembers the time when his friend Coden took him to the Criterion to watch a captured B'rohg battle a pack of kreen. He opens his nexus and visualizes his body becoming like that of the massive B'rohg's, having 4 huge rippled arms... [Metamorphosis 19, rolled 5 = success Power manipulation 17, rolled 14 = success -55 PsP's] To the newcomer's amazement, HurK begins to grow EVEN larger, his two muscled arms splitting off into two sets of arms, his back growing TWO sets of shoulder blades. He loudly takes three quick deep inhales/exhales as he continues to grow in height. On the fourth loud inhale he holds in his breath and releases his foot and allows the tentacles to pull his massive 36' tall frame overboard. The last thing everyone see's is HurK's cheek's puffed out holding his breath and a wink just before he hits the silt. He shuts his eyes tight as he disappears beneath the grey silt waves...

Laakh continues to engage Lilim with enthralling tales of Nibinay, mostly of the food he misses. The feast-days and dance festivals of the rice harvest, the street food stalls drifting roasted meat and pepper smells, with cool mugs of spiced broy to wash it down as trained bats stream bioluminous glowing threads overhead to the delight of children chasing them. He is more comfortable and at ease than he's ever felt. Life is good. Lilim is an appreciative listener. Life is great.

Need Rizla's and Mak's intent. This is definitely interesting.
