Once free from all the sudden activity, Mak will take a stroll to the north seeking out the oasis. Perhaps a little quiet time will help him process all of the activity from the last 24 hours.

When Laakh arrives to dinner HurK pulls him aside. "Hey man, sorry about being so over the top yesterday. I was in a really shitty mood. I know you didn't mean anything and only wanted to help the team out. That being said, do you want to lead the exclusive flint and cheese trade negotiations with Berg and the giants?"

Laakh affirms agreement with the half giant. "Is it Ok to check in with you every day on your mutable moods? And no need to bring up the loot in question with Berg. Make it known among us and get the newcomer on board. We offer exclusive trade with Altaruk and Balic, but Nibenay is not in our talks till we figure our an angle. (yawn) Anything else, let's all huddle before we dine with Berg."

HurK nods his agreement to all the questions. "But weren't we trying to get exclusive rights to trading with them so no one else would buy from them?"

HurK nods his agreement to all the questions. "But weren't we trying to get exclusive rights to trading with them so no one else would buy from them?" Rizla gives the half-giant a puzzled look " You? You were trying to get "exclusive rights to trading"? You don't strike me as the mercantile type" **gestures at Laakh** "Him maybe, but you? You are full of surprises goliath"

HurK looks down and a bit sad. "It was not my idea but that of a lost member of our team. He had grand ideas... kingly even. These Trading rites was one of his better ideas that I would like to try and make happen with Laakh and his Balican friend."

Mak is surprised by the giant's hospitality. These strangers were definitely an odd bunch... fulfilling his ample, halfling curiosity for once.
Dinner is in a cave, down a long stone corridor, part natural and part worked. Not recently though. There's a feeling of age. Smells of smoke, herbs and brute animal funk layer on your nose, melding into one general odor. Not completely foul, just different, like walking into someone's different home.
Goats are split and roasting in the main cave, where the party once shared stories, song and meal. Berg'Mench is there, debating with a savage looking, burnt skinned halfling (Sacamec, DM control). Something about merits of the Sun over the Land itself. The banter is eclipsed by the booming voices of the giants, who are amused at the catch of silt horror (or squishy as they like to call it).
The largest, bearded giant points at the tentacles states, "YOU LUCKY BROWNISH ONE. WHITE ONES BIGGER. BLACK ONES HUNT IN PACKS. SLATE ONES ARE HARD TO FIGHT. SNEAKY."
Kaz makes the point of adding, "TOO TOUGH TO COOK. CUT THIN, POUND WITH HERB AND SALT. IT'S 'OK."
The young ones nod as they begin slicing and pounding the tentacles with smooth, broad rocks after rubbing coarse salt over the top. Once handed out, the taste is bland, but passable.
Berg eventually replies to terms.
"If this is a way to have the bounties called off in Balic? Then yes. This is workable. We require salt, some wood on occasion and sometimes other small items as well. This can be discussed after out first meet." (OOC: in game terms, part of your profit) He pauses. "Concerning that. We meet only with a single person on the south shore and drop off our rock. Anything we require that visit will be left a bit away on down the shore. We'll risk no ambush or tricks, be it from Balic or the dwarves."

Mak will make his way over to where Berg'Mench and Sacamec are and sits nearby to listen to the two debate the superiority of the elements. While listening he will nibble slowly on a piece of roasted squishy meat, his nose wrinkled with disapproval. The smells here remind him of the smells in the halfling tribes in the Ringing Mountains, different but similar.

HurK adds "Agreed. We also need to know if anyone contacts you to try and get information about us or tries to trade with you instead... Like those Tsalaxa's before us."

Laakh seated himself as close to Berg as available and with the old druid's nod, started the dinner with a toast to Haadan, spinning a heartfelt death ballad in faraway cellars, of savage dreamspiders in their lair strewn with bones, feral human faces dripping venom and a desperate escape, bestowing heroic deeds on every PC, and our two new members, Mak the pterrax-rider, and a champion from the arena, the Mad Monkey Rizla himself!
He slowly stands, turning to everyone in the room:
"Haadan was the driving force of our trade, but we continue in his name. May his focus find rest." -clink-
Berg eventually replies to terms.
"Elder, I have my word that the bounties against Ledo are cancelled. (OOC: was it Falmon or Haadan's contact who confirmed this? Laakh will state their name)
"These terms are fair with us. We have interest in the cheese and will fetch the best prices for your fine flint and any other items you wish to trade. In Altaruk I have a contact who we can build more routes with, watching out for the Tslaxans (he makes the evil eye sign as the new elven crew did) We will pass on your terms as law of Ledo, and defend your sanctuary with all the mind and body's will."
"We do have a pressing call to answer, from a great psion. On the morn, we either answer his call, or press on to Altaruk. Now, what tales of Kaz the Mighty Siren of the Silt have we missed?"

The largest, bearded giant points at the tentacles states, "YOU LUCKY BROWNISH ONE. WHITE ONES BIGGER. BLACK ONES HUNT IN PACKS. SLATE ONES ARE HARD TO FIGHT. SNEAKY." a light bulb turns on over HurK's head as he senses a teaching moment "Then YOU BE SNEAKY-IER! That's how I killed THIS ONE and how YOU ALL CAN KILL MORE!" HurK exclaims as he points to his temple a few times to drive home the point to out smart the creatures. "I LET it attack me. I then drove my right arm deep into it's mouth so it could bite me..." HurK makes grand arm gestures, miming his NOODLING TECHNIQUE. "BUT, it was a TRICK. I only wanted to get my arm stuck deep inside so I could THEN grab it's lower jaw with MY OTHER HAND AND PULL! PULL AS HARD AS I COULD TO BREAK AND RIP IT'S JAW OPEN AND OFF!" HurK again makes ripping motions with his massive arms and hands. "THAT, MY FIRENDS, IS HOW YOU BE SMARTER THAN THE SQUICHY'S! YOU TRICK THEM... and then EAT THEM!" He says smiling while pointing to the tentacles.

Laakh catches Coden's eyebrows signaling. Snapping his fingers he adds:
"Yes, that's right Coden. The bounties are ended if we deal with Aloysius of Balic for flint. How can we reach him or his people?"
