The wind picked up with a fury. While more-or-less in the correct direction, the elves drank and sang almost as if to challenge nature itself as they ran the deck. A sunset of brilliant oranges and purples looms behind you and you eventually stumble across a dock in the silt, only found due to Abez's knowledge of the Estuary.
Would it be safe to stay here? Ropes are tied to the dock proper. Abez and the trio of drinking elves, along with Bankhuv, decide to hold up on the ship. At least Khuv could pilot the craft in a pinch.
The captain states, "You'll find a town above. Lizard farmers and a bunch of Balician ex-pats. Never stayed for long, only to run skins or trade."
As the rest of you make your way up the shallow steps. You eventually hear a faint horn in the distance. Have you been detected somehow?

HurK looks to others in concern, then continues quickly up the stairs with his massive strides to get a better view.

The wind tears through the top of the mini bluff, perhaps the three Hurk tall rock face protected the lower silt plane from this stronger air pattern. It's dark and just past twilight. Firelight is seen a hundred yards or so to your right after climbing the steps. It silhouettes a low wall and what look like structures or low buildings behind it. A large, odd creature is seen, crashing against the walls. The details are hard to make out, the coloration is rather dark - either grey or darkly mottled. It's lumpy and huge... at least 12 maybe 20 feet long? Probably stands as tall as a half giant, but it's head is lowered as it crashes through the low stone wall and into the settlement proper.
And now is a good time for Kemintiri to declare intentions...
As a large, bulbous monster charges towards her! It's eyes glow crimson in the night. You shake off the icy grip of panic and react!
Gorak lizards scatter and stampede in all directions! Villagers begin to bolt as well instead of holding ground!
[Kem/Sofia get first reactions/rounds the rest of you may make actions at a distance for the second round or close the distance, cast spells, wet themselves, etc... Sofia? I need initiative, intentions and any rolls you'd like to attempt.]

On landing, Laakh blinked groggy at the fiery sunset. With a new large kreenish fellow on our team? Huh.
"Guess I missed something?! Where are we and why?"
Extending his hand he introduces himself to the newcomer "I'm Laakh, psion," tapping his head - Then with the horn blast and sight of the rampaging beast- 100 yards away--
"Siltfire! Let's go!" Stay close, ya?"
Intent is to keep no closer than 20 yards and do an INT roll -anything he's seen carved in Nibenay's architecture he'd recognize? Then Psionic stuff.

You have seen this carved into Nibenay's stone, close to the front gate. What it is? You have no damned clue.
The one carved in the gate had more legs than you can make out at this distance and light.

Mak will take a moment to examine the creature once he's got line of sight to it.
((Animal Lore, roll: 6))
Other than the broken wall, what else is around the beast? Do we see anything that might have spurred the creature into rampaging like it is?
((Mak initiative roll: 10))

Laakh figures the nekkid goliath will be fine, and that Victory will charge in for hand-to-hand, which will draw its attention. The other spellcasters and burly kreen: Direct the troops? First time for everything...
"Noble Kreen: Flank my charge, kill in your best ways!"
"Casters! find cover and send your mightiest blessings and firepower!" I'll attack it's mind and improvise, stay mobile."
He tries to look bold as he makes eye contact with the team one by one, then nods and beckons them to battle. At 20 yards, he envisions stinking mud of doubt and confusion bubbling up around the creature, trapping it within the twisted corridors of its primitive mind: Id Insinuation! Unmodified Initiative 6 Score 16, rolled 6.

- A woman in hooded robe, dusty in colour as the sediments found the barrens, and hair fiery as a flame moves from a not far away building, approaching the huge creature from its left side. She seems slender and agile and coming out her wrists, some claws can be seen, taking advantage of the muddy terrain where it is located, something that wasn't there the previous day.

Pallia has been watching from the deck as the ship closes in on the settlement, but when the monstrous creature makes its appearance she raises one arm to the sky and calls out, "Sun, watching over us, give us the strength to face this trial!"
(Casting prayer, giving our team +1 to attack rolls, damage, and saving throws, and -1 to the same to the enemy.)

Victory's Initiative is a 9.
Is this thing anything that Victory is familiar with?
Intentions are to keep Laakh and Pallia defended so they can toss magic and psionics at it.
If they have suggestions and give direction, Victory may listen.

Kri-kcht follows the lead of Laahk and takes two Chatkcha in his hands.
(Everyone runs towards the naked giant, I suppose?)

Mak only knows that it's enraged... whatever it is. He's seen a mekillot act this way before after tearing itself free from the thrall of a caravan's mindbender. But this was no mekillot.
The beast rears up at Kelmintiri. She is the first to get a solid look at the beast in all of it's glory. Slate colored scales, four stubby elephantine legs and a pair of arms with savage claws, dripping oily ichor. Small horn, small glowing eyes and a stubby tail. Jaws, dirty foul fangs and an attitude to match... Kel has never seen such a foul, intimidating nightmare. She attempts to dodge as it swipes right and then left...
...and fails. The muscle behind the blows and surprising speed throws her off. The claws tear into her, and the oily resinous stuff burns. She stifles the urge to scream. [39 total damage. Save vs. poison successful.]
The only good thing to come of this? The second blow was so strong, it knocked her against the well and off her feet. The beast turns and charges the hut that houses Riv and Korla. Were they still inside? Kel hurt too much to think too hard on it.
The others closed the distance to the wall...
...as villagers were leaving, goraks were scattering and chaos ensued.
Mak notices that one lone figure that is retreating was not within the walls proper. That figure hopped off a boulder with a flat top and is heading due west into the dark. You didn't notice before, because, GIANT DEATH BEAST commands all the attention.
*Id Insinuation will possibly hit the beginning of the next round.

As they approach, Laakh tries for a spot where he can observe what happens with Hurk's actions, but still keep some cover behind any wall or debris. He keeps silent, glancing at the others to do the same, When he's at the best spot for his attack, he plants his feet and hand to his temple, does his thing.

Mak freezes for a moment. The decision made he encants a blessing of the erdlu over himself (Wild Deer Speed, Lv.2, Priestly Spell Compendium) before bolting towards the west of where he saw that mysterious figure. His hand strays to touch his necklace. In a whisper he says, "Kel'thaun, we hunt sentient prey this night.", as his senses come alive and his grip tightens around the flint spear in his hand.
As he runs he places his hand in his mouth and gives a high pitched short series of whistles. Not far off a Pterrax takes flight. ((Bob, your call on how far I am from the deck of the ship where my Pterrax is. Current trick is "Come." I'll give him more specific instructions once he catches up to me.))
