Nothing is heard outside your door when you awaken.
Checking the weak floor room? Nothing has immediately changed.
Looking into the spider room from above? Looks like the one visible wooden door is still shut.

With that, the team moves to the western double doors where our resident elven door checker searches for traps...

No traps are detected on what look to be stuck, warped wooden doors on the first level below the roof... from the room the staircase ends.
Would you like to open one?

Hurk will put her ear to both and listen intently before trying to open one. If no sound and locked, she'll try the other. If both seem stuck due to age warping, she'll put her shoulder into it and give a good hard shove.

A large room (with no windows or arrow slits) opens up before you. Both doors seem to lead here. Bunks, many rotten wooden bunks, each with a small wooden chest before them line the outside edge of the silent chamber. 3, 6, 9, 12 of 'em in total. Dust and even a fine layer of grit or sand coats the wooden floor. And corpses. Desiccated skeletal bodies stand in awkward parody of standing at attention. Well, a few lie on the beds or sit up against the back of the bed they eternally rest in. There's one for each bunk. Unarmed; unmoving. Pallia advances gingerly to get a better look at the skeletons. Holding the banner in her left hand, she draws her carikkal in her right. She steps cautiously through the door into the room, and glances at the nearest standing one, wondering how it could still be upright after so long, and without any connective tissues.

That is quite worrisome, isn't it? Looking closer, you take in more detail. The one you picked is wearing tattered robes, perhaps once monastic in nature. A small wooden disk hangs about it's neckbones on a dried rawhide throng. A symbol is scratched on the face... nine squiggly lines over either a small pot or abstract head. It looks something like this. Each corpse has something similar. They carry no weapons.

"What a curious symbol," says Pallia, indicating one of the objects. "And they all seem to be wearing it. Perhaps the sign of a guard company from when they were alive?"
She doesn't risk touching it, but when the skeletons remain still, she says, "They don't seem to be moving yet... whatever is keeping them intact, we haven't triggered them."

"Well, we need to do SOMETHING here.... Check & loot a chest? Smash a skeleton? Cast Speak with Dead? Just leave?"

- A curse? A potent defilers' spell? - Kem whispers to avoid disturbing their calm rest whilst holding the singing sticks and looking the rest of the room for marks, symbols or depictions in the walls

"I suspect that they've been dead for so long that speak with dead will likely avail us nothing," says Pallia. "Come on in, be careful, and if you decide to touch a chest or a bed, be ready to defend yourself."

"I'm always ready to loot a chest."
Kleys will me to a chest, near the door, and stand at the chest, but not adjacent to a skeleton (Find Traps: 71/55%).
"This one looks safe."
After a moment, if no one moves or says something to stop him, he'll open it - from off to the side.

- Kem moves herself to avoid been in front of the chest, mimicking what Kleys does, but in the other side
