Calidane seems easygoing and glad to join the team. "So, where are we headed?" he asks.

"I can dowse for water with some accuracy, if you like. Though we'd have to be able to follow the direction of the dowsing rod," says Calidane. "Might be tricky if we're continually trying to avoid these wandering beasts."

"The beasts may even lead us to the water as they wouldn't be alive without a source from somewhere. But THEY'RE not what I'm worried about though..." The halfing nods to where the mass undead combat happened the other day.

"Oh Dowse for sure, but first let's just get a look at the city up at the top of that building so we have some idea of what's what."

The sellsword tiptoes to look at the pack of beasts.

"Ugly things. Betcha our bosses pay OK for rounding up some for bloodsport (he beams in content) then he barks out a non-bloodthirsty "Hoi! Let's get up there for a lookee then, Water-witch-beast-tamer. Ah, we all here? where's Bax and um, Sambar our scaly one, innit?"

"Knowledge of the location of water is not knowing of a location that we could reasonably defend and keep. We must collect both pieces of information to succeed. "

From this vantage? Hawkings can see no obvious wells.

Many broken cobbled streets, sand and dirt. Sporadic scrub and overgrowth in places. The roof he stands on feels a bit unstable, even with his relatively light imprint. This building may have once been a small tavern or inn. The roads crisscross into dead neighborhoods. Some activity is seen along the route you ran yesterday. In fact, there are a few Maraneth patrolling the outside streets leading to the area you fought the undead.

There is no evidence of Greys right now though.

Bigger buildings, in better shape, are seen further into the cyclopean ruin... nearer the towers. Perhaps that's where this city's templars or nobility called home. The scope of desolation is still amazing, as there is no feasible way for the current House to hold more than quarter of the city or it's walls - even if they were to open up the gates for those encamped outside the new city.

If indeed the gorge was a river at one point, there may have been little need for wells this close to the edge of the bridge. Perhaps a look of foot deeper into the broken streets would reveal a source of water.
