Moktli adds more info about the inix bones, scratching his chin to ponder:
"...maybe if their feet talons are still buried, that might be in better shape then the rest of em?"

Old. The colors are faded, but many have a reddish cast to them, perhaps something to do with the soil properties in the area if these were locally glazed. They are pretty smooth as well (in spite of their age), meaning the previous owners knew the secret of throwing some sand into the clay - or the clay that was used had it occuring naturally. There is a bit of pitting on the sides exposed to the sun, but otherwise they may still be serviceable. The yellowed inix skeletons also look near ancient, with the bony feet claws covered in sand and dirt. You are unsure if the age would affect the quality of a weapon made from such bone. "Surely this water can longer have any owners. We should decide whether to bring it back to the new city or hide here for out own use." "Shall we examine the Hangman's Warehouse?" (Bob: Would we get a price for water jugs & water in Celik?)

- I agree with checking for security first - as the curiosity calls Valmera. She gets closer, looking the water containers, looking for patterns and also for signs of House Maraneth in any of them, even in the still intact doors

Water in Celik runs it's highs and lows. For those without House affiliation? 2-3x standard price... and that's after House business is dealt with. There have been shortages.
These pitchers are empty, but with the promise of water within? And their very presence? Things are looking up.
A peek inside reveals what look to be wooden contraptions that run the length and breadth of the building. The walls look dark, perhaps darker than they should given the noon-ish light outside.
Tell me if you enter or use an ability to see within.

Quila was curious. These new recruits had garnered more attention than any that had joined Maraneth when she did. One apparently pledged their life to service of the House! Almost unheard of. So when she saw them set off across the South Bridge?
She slowly followed.
After passing a few bits to a guard at the leftmost tower, she learned they had headed away from the safety of the walls.
Oof.
Did they not know of the dangers the old city presented? They recently had to shut down operations to reclaim brick and building materials that way due to a clutch of slate hide basilisks.
Creatures that could turn a man or woman to stone at a glance... in fact, she could see three statues of once proud House members just ahead and to her left.
That was when she saw the tiny man approach with pink feathers in his hair. Hmm.

”I think the water is further beyond, not in the jars,” says Calidane. ”Nevertheless, these can be useful, especially if we do find the water and can fill them up!”

I look attentively at the halfling approaching the South Bridge from the Old City, wondering where the other new recruits are.
Can I see whether he seems to be in a specific hurry or not, does he seem to move differently than when they set off first? Does his youngster face betray any emotion at all?
As he nears I call out to him "oyo good folk mareneth halfling there, what is the case? Where are the other new House recruits? Did something happen?"
The halfling sees a woman standing just at the edge of the South Bridge in between the watchtowers, too tall for a human too small for an elf. She looks as if she's been in this dusty city for a while, judging from the buildup of grit on both her boots and her outerwear. Her voice sounds soothing but has a hint of tenseness behind it. Her clothing looks well maintained and seems to be a cross between both functionality and swirling looks. There's tight fitting pants running into calf-high sturdy boots and a hooded garnache/vest with several pockets clasped at several places to a baldric all covering a more embroidered undershirt. A pattern of Ral and Guthay moons and elemental illustrations feature at sections of the undershirt.
The woman stands frowning a bit against the midday sun but otherwise looks with a slightly warm smile and great curiosity towards the approaching halfling.

"shit Shit SHIT" he says as he does an about face and runs back to the group Seeing the halfling react to her soothing voice in a way Quila did not expect - horror - before he starts running back to wherever he came from upsets her. She feels for the halfling and the obvious distress he feels when he seemed no longer distracted and looking aloof. However, knowing how dangerous the Old City can be, and not knowing if and where the companions the halfling left with are, Quila is looking inwards for a moment to center herself. A few seconds later when she feels totally present she quickly sets off after the halfling into the Old City with an alert mind. (Bob: NWP Alertness - rolled 7 vs. 18 - success) When (if) she overtakes him she starts walking next to the halfling and tries making eye contact before she will talk / engage again. Then she blurts out "What did you encounter or run into? Not lizards, no? Because, this one time ..." [Bob: do I know where exactly the lizards were encountered and/or do I have a map of Old City bits that are comparable to the group, or do I have a bit more? That's always nice if that'd be the case]

With a little speed, the long legged elven woman easily catches up to the little halfling as he huffs and puffs down the main western throughway.
"Oh hey!" huff! huff! "No! No lizards!" huff! huff! "WORSE: MIND BENDING MAGIKS!" huff! huff! "Must warn..." huff! huff! "Others!" huff! huff!

Visibly relaxing in her face when the halfling says no lizards are involved the elfin woman smiles curtly down at her colorfully feathered walking companion: "I am Quila of House Mareneth, but you knew the last part already, as I knew that of you. What is your name?"
Quila suddenly looks towards the sides of the road, especially when there are alleys and corners, before snapping her head back towards the halfling and looking intently towards him: "Let's be wakeful and look lively, danger can be 'round any corner here."
Her brow furrows for a bit and she asks: "You sure it was magics and not mindbending?"

(With the return of the Halfling, Ibubesi will move - with Kirre & motioning for the others to join - to the rear courtyard to join those scoping it out. He'll quickly peruse the seen and then carefully look at - not in - the warehouse).
"Baxby?"

huff! huff! “Hawkings…” huff! huff! “formerly of…” huff! huff! “Cerebran.” Quila starts changing her pace a bit to at least give the halfling the idea he is actually making the tempo and not her. She looks over again to her companion. "Ah the Cerebran. I've heard of that Balican school of mind. But I do love all the olives and oranges. The colors of growth." She pauses, tilts her head and looks amused, or even quizzical, and teasingly asks "Have you ever helped out House Amketch?" huff! huff! “Whatevayousay…” huff! huff! Quila quickly darts her eyes to and fro again to alleys and sideways and rooftops, all the while she and Hawkings still make their way over back to wherever he and his companions went to. (Bob: when do I need to reroll for Alertness to keep that active?) huff! huff! “yup…” huff! huff! “shit...” huff! huff! “maybe?” huff! huff! "Ah. Good to know, could be either/or. Did you see any creatures or contraptions or devices?" Quila will keep engaging Hawkings for whatever more information he is willing to share with her en route to their destination. She intersperses her prodding and querying with personal testimony and historical anecdotes: "You know I'm very glad we met. I saw you all leave and wanted to tag along to go discover the old city. I really would like to find out some relics and information on the Celik of ages past. I wonder what befell the city." and so on and so forth.

OOC: Baxby is now running as an NPC. Feel free to dictate the tari's actions within reason. Jack has been really busy in real life and asked to be put on pause until further notice.
Baxby nods and slips beyond the door frame and into the warehouse. He holds a single clawed finger to his overbite to indicate silence before he vanishes inside.
***
It is not a far distance to backtrack to the noose emblazoned warehouse to warn the others. Quila does notice the three statues the others had seen on the left-hand side of the street, verifying what she had heard before. She has no map, but that seems like a great idea to pursue... as the city ruins are extensive.
***
The tari pops out moments later as you rejoin.
"Oi, bruvs. There's all sortsa wood frames about. Some burnt plaster, a few burnt bones, like maybe there was once a fire here, hear? To the right yo, there's a round bit of brick covered wit a few large bits o' board. Might be the water is down there? There's some more of that dry arse rope about too."
