Round 5 cont...
Attilius wisely moves back so you can pass through and see your target as Coden tells the goliath to move out of the way of the shadowy elf.
They still stand, perhaps not as devastated as you'd hoped. While they likely cannot see you, you can see them angerly gesticulate.
Intent for the next round (6). If Att moves to fight, everyone else will need to lose line of sight... and Quila will have to abscond quickly. If this is the case, I'll be nice and let you act after Quila's move this round in initiative... that's unless she has something more devastating up her sleeve. Confer amongst yourselves. If the half giant tries to attack in these close quarters, I will drop a -4 penalty to hit. This might just balance out as the sneks are fighting in the dark, but lets see what you plan on doing.

Round 6
-67 HP; -1 Str (= -1 to hit & damage) Magic weapon (gouge +1/+1) Aid spell (6 rounds - +1 to attack & saves, 0 Temp H.P.) -1 bonus to initiative Armor Class: -8 / vs. missile weapons: -10 Initiative: 9
"Move out da way Q, time for ME TO DANCE!" Attilius growls Niachi whistles to get the goliath's attention. He pantomimes using the big shield as a barricade, then advancing with the shield to press the things back into the darkness should they advance. The giant nods to Niachi, takes a step back to the north wall then hunkers down in a three point foot ball stance with his tower shield in front like a bulldozer Readied action: if anything solid (so not a ghost) emerges from the darkness, Attilius will ram it full speed with his shield and knock it down back into the darkness.Attack hits AC -3 Opposed Strength roll: 20 (+3 for large shield included *see blue below)
23 if defender is unaware of the shield-rush • Shield-rush The shield-rush is an attempt to knock someone down by running into them with your shield. The character must have 10 feet (2 spaces) of running room to make an effective shield-rush. Making a shield-rush is treated as a charge attack for purposes of guarding characters with set spears. When the character makes a shield-rush, he makes a normal attack against his enemy’s AC. Some shields may provide modifiers or bonuses to the rush. After a shield has been used for a rush, it provides no AC bonus for the rest of the round for its bearer, unless specialized. Characters who specialize in weapon and shield style can choose to make one of these secondary attacks every round without losing the AC benefit. Making a shield-rush also costs the character a normal attack, but it isn’t considered an off-hand weapon like a shield-punch. If the shield-bearer hits with his attack, he makes an opposed Strength roll against his opponent to see if he knocks him down. The loser of the opposed roll falls down; if both characters fail their Strength rolls, they both fall down. The following modifiers apply to the attacker’s Strength score: · 4-point bonus or penalty for each size difference of the attacker versus the defender; · +3 if the defender was unaware of the shield-rush; · –2 if the defender has four legs or more. As noted before, monsters can be assumed to have a Strength of 3 1/2 per size category plus their Hit Dice. Instead of an opposed roll, the DM can substitute a saving throw vs. Paralyzation for the defender to save time. A +3 knockdown bonus for large shields is used during the opposed Strength check that takes place if the attack hits.If the shield-rusher misses with his attack roll, he must roll a successful Dexterity check to stay on his feet as he rushes past his target. If he fails, he falls down.

With Attilius taking point and being the sole soul in the hallway, He only meets with the two remaining fiery blasts that strike and hit his shield. He is slightly singed, for 2 damage.
No figures leave the darkness. A three count later he hears the sound of the capstan being turned and the stone door shutting.

The spell drops only for Attilius to see that there's 23% left of the door way opening left to close. He currently cannot see snek well, perhaps a little scale about two feet beyond the portal that closes from the ceiling to the floor.
It's really cold in the hall still and the goliath has to suppress the urge to shiver. The effects of the Eternal Forge still seemed to be fresh on his body.

Sadly not today..' - smirking with such thought - "Holded a bit more!" - as she calls the power of the earth lords, channelling into the shape of the door. It will still moving its intact long run down at its left side, to keep the maximum opening of the door gate, shaping the rest directly towards the serpentine figures like a giant sharp piercing spike.

Yvera leaps to Quila's shoulder as 'Muiko transmutes his form to that of a earth elemental shaped like an elf (inspired by his birth father, not that anyone in the party would realize that).
"Trace the frame to give him better access" the earthy elf says as he wags a thumb at Attilius.

By the time Attilius retreats, the door is completely shut. It probably didn't help him open it in the first place with the combined weight of the serpentine brother cousins on the other side holding the mechanism used to raise and lower the danged thing to begin with.

Having just had small fiery stones impact her Kurnan Black Lances armor and singe and ruin her impeccable self-made clothing, Quila is miffed to say the least. She retreats a bit into herself for a second, and gets out of the way of the shouting match the gladiator and the elf seem to have. She feels strangely cold for a moment and then 'Muiko's familiar Yvera is upon her shoulder. Quila scratches and pats Yvera, "Hi there lovely lovely," she coos the headstrong and smart creature, "You are a sight for my sore eyes."
While some of the group are busy near the door, she walks a full circuit around the sarcophagus, trying to see any identifying marks upon it.

Hmm. There are scorpion carvings about the face, as well as depictions of the Nine Tongued Worm. Missing are the two runes that Umbris triggered. The room smells heavily of carbon and the murals on the wall are now ruined due to the lightning blasts a few minutes ago. You feel shaking above, as if the earth is moving.
This is when Quila gets a mental nudge from Akos of Kurn.
Do you accept the inquiry?
