Quite ingenious thinks the halfling as he disarms the double trap. The capstan not only opened the door, but reset the trap within the walls to activate when the two floor plates were stepped upon. By wedging two thin shivs between the floor plates and applying sharp pressure, he's able to pop the mechanism.
The second one is a bit bit tougher and almost triggers. Wiping a bead of sweat from his wee brow, he looks up to where he believes hidden blades probably reside in the walls, there & there... thin empty seams betray where the still lay hid.
After twenty feet or so, the corridor opens up into a room some twenty by thirty feet in diameter. The hallway is in the south-west corner, the room opens to the right.
An enormous carved dark stone sarcophagus dominates the chamber. As you survey the friezes in this vault, you discover more details about who you assume is (or was) Myron. The wall embedded pictures show a boy growing up normally next to what looks to be a brother or friend. Then suddenly, as a young man, he is shown leading armies against his trollocs, weird kip nosed mutants and tiny men that remind you of hej-kin, but with scaled faces. Another scene shows him wearing a golden mask of tentacles - nine to be exact, with those he was seen fighting rallying behind him against men & women in metal arms and armor. In another panel, he is captured by a beautiful man wearing a white cloak with golden trim. Aman is seen head down gesturing to a space that reminds you of the Tomb you plundered before. An odd detail shows purplish vapor rising from cracks in the earth.
It looks like these friezes once adorned somewhere else, as if having been moved sometime in the past.
Two magical traps were detected on the sarcophagus.

There is one thing that Niachi sees that the others don't, a fanged human skull topped snake's skeleton coiled in the SE corner of the room. While coiled, it sits invisible ready to strike with a body that he figures is at least 9' long, possibly 12' or larger as it is tough to judge.

Due to the nature of the detect invisible and warning, no surprise rolls necessary.

Initiative: 0 Niachi directs his Spectral Hand to backhand the snake with a Chill Touch:
AT roll with hit AC 10. br] Target saves vs. spell. Undead touched by the caster suffer no damage or Strength loss, but they must successfully save vs. spell or flee for 1d4 rounds + 1 round per level of the caster.
If not undead: failed save will reduce its Thaco by 1 with the next successful hit and failed save.
Niachi: AC -2, 40 HP Spectral Hand: AC -2, any successful hit destroys the hand and Niachi takes 1d4 damage.

Initiative: 1 (rolled 3, -2 dex) Quila concentrates for a short moment and let's her mind then reach out into the environment, ready to sense imbalances that would disturb her physical or mental integrity. She manifests Probability Manipulation. She looks into the room seeing the bone serpent approach the shadow elf and quickly retracts her head back into the short passageway, standing just outside of the room, letting anyone pass through that wants to.

Niachi attacks quickly, with the ghostly hand striking the skeletal snake monstrosity. It does not seem to be effective - at least this time. He sees a similar glow to that of his chill touch coming from the fangs and tail of the dreaded beast.
Skrye manages to send two dagger strikes into the rib bones of the now visible foe. They appear to damage it slightly... her positioning is not great from this angle.
As the bite gets close, Attilius' shield catches the strike. But that is short lived relief, as a bolt of crimson lightning erupts out of nowhere, positioned to the half giant's rear. It then rebounds some EIGHT times between his back and the wall and the sarcophagus and the wall and the tari and the elf and Coden...
You get it. I need 8 saves rolled for Attilius, and two saves from Coden, Niachi and Skrye. Any failure and you take 30 damage total. If you save on all of them, take half (15 total). I will also need saves for items that Attilius carries upon his back and rear armor.
The flash keeps Coden off guard, fouling his attack and causing him to drop his spear.
The tail of the beast strikes Niachi for 4 additional damage. He feels a chill, but it dissipates due to his shadowy nature.
The goliath sees the halfling's stone hit and chip off a bit of spinal column of the death snake as he hits the thing twice himself. His blade gouges out several bones from the chest of the foul creature, yet it still stands.

Niachi grunts as arcane energy sears, but does not cripple him. His hair is now spiky Motley Crue style.
Saved both rolls. He takes 15 damage from lightning and 4 from the snake tail. Current HP: 21
He maneuvers to get out of striking distance.

...a bolt of crimson lightning erupts out of nowhere, positioned to the half giant's rear. It then rebounds some EIGHT times between his back and the wall and the sarcophagus and the wall and the tari and the elf and Coden... Through the flashes of light and explosions of water bursting, Attilius screams as his muscles tense up during the eight repeating electrical strikes. A lot happens in a split second but the most noticeable is the massive amount of water that bursts out from destroyed large water skins and a large wooden cask. The other is A LOT of broken bone fragments that were once large darts "plinking" as they hit the deck along with two wet thuds of the large leather bandoliers that once crossed the giants chest. Black smoke rises from the top of the pack. The keen eyed also see a large black spot dead center on the Ankheg armor Breastplate where the lightning strike hit. Thankfully it's still intact. He maneuvers to get out of striking distance. Seeing Niachi attempt to back up, he side steps him and moves in to switch places with him and renew his attacks on the bone-snake-man-skull Round 2:-30 H.P. Armor Class: -8 / vs. missile weapons: -10 Initiative: 10 Top of initiative: Shield Block first incoming strike - hit AC: 5 Initiative 15 Attack 1: CRIT! hits AC -12 Damage: 23 magical Slashing Attack 2: hits AC -8 Damage: 18 magical Slashing

- "Ugnn..." - complains as she could only avoid one of the attacks, sheathing then her daggers to cast a distraction from the serpentine figure and move away towards the other party members
