It is neigh near impossible to approach the lightly blocked entrance without some observation.
There are other hovels, nooks & crannies about where others hide, sleep, awake and plot. And the morning is a great time for activity, especially just prior to first light.
One thing you notice is there's luminescence about in the predawn haze. Large glow worms range on some walls... hells, was that a basket with some? The cooler morning, allows some of the heavier tasks to get completed as the populace awakes.
Will you openly enter? Or perhaps be a tad more stealthy? Or say fuck-alls and enter brazenly?

Hurk thinks a moment then whispers "We can't risk being seen. It's less than 100 yards. Khuv open a worm hole into the main room where we found the webbed up elf. I'll enter first, then Yiska, Khuv, Laakh and Coden as rear security. Sound good?"
If everyone agrees, HurK puts his hand on his light stone inside his pouch, ready to pull out once they're inside...

Khuv opens up a quick wormhole - at least it isn't as taxing at this distance. But it's still a difficult power to focus on. The other spider body is gone as well. Ichor stains the floor from where the carcass lay before, perhaps evidence that it was hacked apart and dragged away in pieces. There's also a strange, fresh white paint mark on the wall, a series of slashes forming a grid. It's about a foot in width.  Looking in the nook, and the space beneath it, there is no evidence of any additional tapering or exploration. Webs are still about as well as the charnel smell of rotten, dead bodies. |

Looking at the drag evidence, HurK whispers "nothing ever goes to waste..." He then turns his light bead to the white paint "Yiska, or anyone else, those slashes mean anything to you? Maybe neighborhood gang or tribal sign?" Looking at the rubble covering the nest area "Laakh, phase and look down into the nest and beyond. If you find anything either phase object it so you can grab it or if it's too big or too many just come back and we'll uncover the rubble to get at it."
Turning to Yiska again "What can you tell me about the blocked staircase and beyond down there?"

"As far as under the collapse? I have no clue. This place has been avoided for as long as I remember and the blockage is nothing new. Who knows what lies under the Stone City?"

Preemptive Phase roll: Need 19, rolled 18. -6 PSPs. After hearing if he knows about the markings, Laakh will maintain Phase and Safe Path until not needed and descend below at 1/2 movement rate, You see his spectral outline hold his nose. he has +25% or +4 on any rolls, a -2 AC bonus and +4 to saves while in combat as his instincts guide his way. Next round he has 84 PSPs. Safe Path fucking rocks.

Betwixt Laahk and Bankhuv, you suss out that the markings mean, "Crime committed here; stay away." Markings like this are generally less verboten than real reading and writing. Every trail has a marker, eh?
The area underneath has the remains of prey. Bones from dozens of humanoids and the more recent, sloppy kills of a dwarf and a human are found close to where the eggs were once located. They're literally torn to shreds; the soft organs gone.
There is as much webbing here as you originally gathered above. Whether you take the time to gather this batch? Well, that's for you to decide.
Rock and masonry chunks are strewn all about past the small opening. When in a phased or spectral form, you can gather that there's a heavily blocked stairway leading down past 5 feet of nearly solid masonry rubble in the far wall/floor. It goes down to your right, leading towards the middle of the city. Clearing the rock from here could be structurally unsound.

He uncovers his light marble to 50% and does a floating 360, eyes up and out. If nothing happens, he hovers up to the main floor: "Bodies and bones. Web, and blocked stairs going down undercity. Not stable."
