A simple ring of the bell brings an old mul to the doorway. He apparently recognizes Coden (and possibly Laahk, although he's a bit more nondescript).
"Ah. Is the Gambit docked? Afraid you'll have to wait a few minutes, I'm short of hands at the moment. I let my cousins off for the evening... I thought all our craft were in for the night and the patrol is on their rounds."
Behind the wrinkled old patrician, a humble (by templar standards) room can be seen. There's a worn wooden desk and chair, a small brazier of coals and a few small cells to the rear of the room, currently unoccupied. A longer empty table with perhaps a half dozen stools sit behind the desk and in between the holding area. Mugs, dice and a few odds and ends rest on top, as well as a Three Armies board. It smells faintly of stale Ledopolan tobac.

Laakh looks to Coden to speak, bows his head in respect to the elder templar. Attempts Clairvoyance in possible extraction site: cistern under S Ledo. Need 16, rolled 14: Fail if target is more than 1000 yards away.
He groans, rubs his stomach, mutters "ugh, kip meat always disagrees with me." Will try next round. -7 PSPs.

[Bob how many turns have passed since the team left the office to go to the tavern?] Need 16, rolled 14: Fail if target is more than 1000 yards away.

As messaged, we went with 5 hours as for PSP usage.
The mul awaits an answer.
I'll give Laahk a freebie and tell you that the area you are trying to spy on is pitch black.

Coden puts on a kindly smile and says, "Business never sleeps, as you well know. A man of your experience certainly has seen stranger groups than ours before. Perhaps even this very evening!"
(I hate to say it but I've lost track of what we're trying to get here? This is a pitch-dark room with an old man in front, are we trying to get inside, or just trying to see what's in there, or still trying to find one of the suspects from the murder?)

(You suspect that this old mul templar might have had a hand in your cousin's death... or one of his dwarven relatives, based on the visions & speak with dead had in the crypt. However, the templar in question was not identified as well as his help. One of those was a tarek or half tarek. The snippet that makes you think so is this: They were ambushed in the alley beside the offices. Held by a large tarek, a dwarf male and beaten by a hooded man with a metal rod until they died. They knew not their assailant's identities.) He replies. "Ha! There's no lie in that. Outside of the harbor and it's docks, I have jurisdiction over the immediate area - we're always holding drunks or sendin' 'em to the stocks or camps if they're too disorderly. Abez and Caym have always respected us here and have paid more than their share to make sure things run smoothly. I tell you what. For a silver, I'll pass on the inspection tonight. I'm short of hands and could use the rest. My leg has been actin' up again." You do not have a ship here currently. Whether you wish to state that? Well, that's your own business.

I heard word of possible mental exploits. Care to suggest some as a team?

[HurK/Red readied action: the millisecond the jig is up/shit hits the fan, manifest control sound on the Mul's mouth - any sound emanating from him will be transformed into the sound of a quiet gentle breeze]

Coden fishes through his pocket, going through his coins as he nods to the templar. While he does so, his mind is reaching out ever so tentatively.
(Attempting contact with the mul, just to see if he has any mental defenses at all.)

No defenses detected. Perhaps this is a reason he's a Dockmaster/Warden and not entrusted with stronger secrets.
