(There's a 4th-level priest spell, modify memory, that might help Laakh? Pallia can't cast it because it's in the Sphere of Cosmos and she only has Minor access to that, but maybe Mak can?)

((Mak can cast it but I don't think it'd restore Kleys lost spells. It also requires 5 minutes. Maybe later? Or I could just hit him with a Nap spell and he could get his spells back after an hour?))

Good thoughts.

Mak is suddenly arrested of outside thoughts... He sees a tiny patch of strange, alien mold, moss? I mean there's little black leaf-like parts.

I don't know how many of you guys have seen some of the stranger fungi? Slime molds, etc...? But this would rank in that visual catagory.

The main, tiny patch is attached to another smaller black growth. It looks like a little boy. Cute... but evil?

The battle rages before the rest of you.

You smell dank stench, from the rubbery, green-skinned beasts. They shamble, postures atrocious, but brace to receive the charge. The regal man cuts deep into one, the body erupting into cleansing flame.

The two other men charge but are less successful. They take savage blows that tear into the metal carapaces that protect their vitals... landing only minor blows in return. Blood splatters through the air, now charged with the heat of battle.

The alien, masked thing (leader?) raises it's arms and calls out savagely in a tongue unfamiliar to you all. It's hands glow steel grey light. What will happen next?

Will you just wait?
