Chat'cho will hop behind one of the statues before any Dispel Magic attempt is made.

Slight addendum:
The tari, believing that the eyes are the trigger - or where the effect springs from, covers the lizard face...
Oh.
A basilisk. She's seen dead ones in Celic.
She definitely covers the eyes with her hooded vest and ties it about. Touching the face causes an archaic voice to ring out, "Quench my thirst and you may pass."
Musing for a second and after noticing the blade within the mouth, she takes her own skinning stone and drips a few drops of her blood into the open mouth. And that's when the door opens slowly.
Crisis averted. She tugs the jerkin after the door opens.
The room beyond dances with your varied light, revealing over twenty statues in various archaic garb and inquisitive positions. Their faces range from idleness to surprise to abject terror.

Chat'cho hops on in without the slightest reservation, trusting her Find Traps spell and Danger Sense proficiency to alert her of any danger.

'Muiko will carefully examine the elf statue, looking for any indication of their tribe. Internally inferring that the semi circular pattern of defilement outside was caused by this now petrified wizard before him, 'Muiko turns to Niachi and says [Elven "Do you see any indication of tribe? Should I attempt to dispel the petrification? Do we leave him to be a silent and still observer? I would guess this one *thumbs at petrified wizard* is responsible for the razed ground outside. Should we free one who would travel freely with a defiler?"] Looking past the opening doors, 'Muiko exclaims "Oh, to learn to draw such terrifying beauty with stone!"
'Muiko enters the room behind Chat'cho, moving towards the closest statue and giving it and then each in turn the same careful examination given to the elf statue in the entryway (at least that's his stated intention).

Attilius examines the bronze door hinges.
[Bob what would it take (tools and/or strengthwise) to remove the doors?]

The room is quite large. The stonework is of granite blocks, the ceiling perhaps 15 feet high. Wider than long, perhaps 70ish feet by 35ish feet.
The first statue that 'Muiko investigates is of a dwarven male in finery carrying a crossbow. He wears a fez and has a decent sized paunch. This one does not radiate magic.
Further into the room, a door can be seen to the left, some 10-15 feet from the east wall. [Map to follow later.]
Towards the door 'Muiko would notice the glow of magic coming from a statue closer to the door itself. As well as the glow that permeates the walls in general. He reads this (the statue) as conjuration or summoning in effect. As well as enchantment.

Chat'cho goes to investigate the door, without a care in the world. "Watch for the statue closest to the door, uh, Chat'cho" 'Muiko says after a brief glance in her direction. He then turns his attention to the walls, expecting Abjuration but open to other possibilities.

- Skrye looks at the statues around, looking for any historical reference - "Be careful in your walk little one, just in case you step in the wrong tile, or do you know what are you doing?" - a bit strange by the behaviour of the party member
[OOC: If ancient history is applicable, I rolled a successful 8 out of 12]

"Ixh sommething is a*out to ha*en, I should know. Thank you."
Chat'cho keeps her eyes on the statue as she approaches.

Quila tries concentrating on her Locate Object.
Otherwise she’s busy with classifying all statues’ race and other features in her Chronicler memory. To help her with that she takes out a set of aprig leaf cards and begins jotting down details in picts (a writing system), she makes a functional sketch if she sees any relevant historical symbols. For this she uses her trained and well-honed senses as historian.
(OOC she has 40% chance to ascertain whether objects are historically significant, and she has a 56% chance to read ancient/unknown symbols, texts, etc.)

Before descent, Niachi will start a slow interpretive dance with supplications to the darkest patch of shadow near him to Enchant whatever weapon Atillius wants, duration 16 turns: +1/+1.
Next: With a gesture of a padding feline: Cat's Grace on Coden +6 to his Dex, max 20. Duration: 8 hours.
Next: Protection from Evil on Kaw-rawk the xerichou, duration 16 rounds. Instructions are to remain on his shoulder and ready mental attacks with best the defenses it can muster. if targeted, take cover.
Shield on himself: Duration 40 rounds.
The air around him in a 20' radius tastes like a nosebleed that won't stop.

Detect magic reveals the entire physical structure of the tomb to radiate magic. Abjuration & alteration seem to be the most prevalent as stated before - this has not changed.
The statue that 'Muiko points out is of a beautiful, yet blindfold woman wearing a flowing gown. The workmanship is exquisite, the gown appears to be near transparent, hiding little to the imagination. Her bound hands are held out palm up, as if pleading for her life. One palm holds a bulging stone purse; the other empty.
Chat'cho hears a voice in her head as she examines the sculpture. "This is my gift. Choose which you shall have, then share it among you." Your eyes are drawn to her palms as you regard these soft words.

No symbols are seen on the statues. All are incredibly lifelike, with some more current styles and other less current dress. Human, elf, a halfling, mul... there is a wide variety of stone characters. Many are missing limbs, often broken and laying upon the ground nearby. Noses chiseled, weapons broken, etc...

Chat'cho contemplates this for a moment. An empty hand, and a purse? She tilts her head to one side. Well, she gets the sense that wizards that enjoy killing explorers for kicks would probably enjoy suckering greedy marauders to their deaths with offers of coin, so despite the fact that there seems to be nothing in the other hand, she chooses that one, reaching out with one of her other arms to place it in the empty spot in the hand currently not holding anything. She never valued coins much, anyway, as a Thri-Kreen, and the purse seems to her as if it should be an obvious trap. Perhaps the other hand once held something, but fell out or was taken by another--but that's a risk she feels like taking.
