Kri-kcht hesitated too long but still attacks with all fives. With a jump and a agitated screech he picks the remaining Tembo as his victim.

The acid bolt strikes the back wall to the right, burning a hole into the fresco next to the bed.
Laahk does not manage to get through the creature's defenses. However, he distracts it enough to foul it's potential attack on those in the room proper.
Kem lashes out, the large, hairless toothy beast grinning maniacally at her as she tap, tap. taps the foe with her sticks. Luckily, she hits soft spots and seems to have accomplished "something".
Yiska strikes just as they do, tearing a bloody edge across the beast's chest. She takes two front claws for her audacity... but she shrugs off the pain and assumes an aggressive stance.
Abez switches to the bow after setting down the banner as Kem takes two paws to the arms. [6 damage to Kem.]
Kri-kcht pounces the one on the right, savaging it with three strong blows from his own claws. The kreen tears two savage gashes across the tembo's throat, ending it's life almost instantly.
Then Mak's icy spell releases. Doing just enough damage to drop the two threats on the right. The spell is a tad too effective hitting Kleys, Kem and Yiska for 4 points of damage.
But at least no one in the party drops and the summoned monsters begin to fade from sight, to wherever magicked opponents go when vanquished. You aren't quite sure, but there seems to be a very faint hint of muffled laughter in the air that vanishes almost as quickly as you begin to hear it.

You aren't quite sure, but there seems to be a very faint hint of muffled laughter in the air that vanishes almost as quickly as you begin to hear it. The elven sailor spits on the floor in anger "Clearly, undead sense of humor is skewed more & more the longer they... un-live" She picks up the banner and hands it to the albino. "I have my brother to free. Let's continue on..."

When the Tembo are defeated Mak will again focus on his Detect Life power to see if he can catch a glimpse of anything else, especially the laughing viewer.
To Kleys, Kem and Yiska "Sorry, I didn't anticipate my spell going off after you all closed the distance."

- It's not your fault that these creatures appeared, and disappeared, from thin air - Replies back - Well, how long since Amman had some joy of his own? I understand that he won't dispose us so easily as we are a display to his sight after so long. We have to be very aware, awake and cautious with everything here.. How is everyone? - Asks to the others, after looking their wounds

"So... whoever was watching knows a little more about our capabilities," says Pallia, still gripping the staff tightly.

When the group is ready to move on, "We'll watch the rear..." Yiska says, blade in hand as she grabs Abez to move them to the rear of the group.

"Undead *exist*, not un-live. "
Kleys will check the box for Traps and then investigate it more fully.
"(From before:Traps: 46, 59, 12 - each a success)"
If, when he's done, everyone is ready to move on, he'll Listen (53/30% - fail) at the next door (going clockwise) and once again open the door, peek, and let Kem & Yiska through, following after if its 'safe'.

No traps.
Inside the box?
A tarnished, yet intricate metal bracelet with green gems glittering even in this dismal light.
This leaves the squarish magic detected in the fresco nearby...
Or the abjuration magics detected in the west wall (bordering the room with the rose quartz tile that radiated the same magicks).
(Wife is running late... so here's a preliminary post to start.)

Kleys removes the bracelet and hold it up: "Someone want to check this for Psionics?"
Then he'll examine first the fresco then the magic in the wast wall.

Laakh holds his hand out to hold the bracelet by its metal. A meaningful squint at the gems. "I know a bit about this." He considers his Focus Crystal, the hours of his meditations and energies poured into it.
Rolls for Focus Crystal proficiency: 8 vs. 18.

...And, having been in a minor heist or 3, Laakh nods to the box.
"Check it for traps, a false bottom?"
